Lianzhu Chuang (a type of scrofula where lymph nodes swell like a string of beads): Moxibustion on Bailao (Ex-UE11) from 3 to 100 moxa cones; Moxibustion on Zhoujian (Ex-UE9) for 100 moxa cones. Before treatment, inquire and confirm the initial appearance of the nodules. Pierce the center of the nodule with a needle, then mix Shixionghuang (Realgar) powder with prepared mugwort to form moxa cones, and apply moxibustion directly on the nodule. Simultaneously, puncture the acupoint (referring to the puncture site or related points) and apply 3 to 7 moxa cones per point; all nodules will subsequently dissipate.
Yingliu (goiter or thyroid enlargement in the neck): Should not be pierced with a needle, as this causes toxin dispersion leading to death. Rouliu (fibroma): Acupuncture and moxibustion are fatal. Xueliu (hemangioma): Puncturing leads to uncontrollable hemorrhage and death.
Luoli (scrofula/cervical lymphadenitis): Nodules appearing around the neck are called "Panshe" (Coiling Snake). Primary points: Tianjing (TE16), Fengchi (GB20), Zhoujian (Ex-UE9), each moxibusted for 100 cones. Alternative treatment: Zusanli (ST36), Bailao (Ex-UE11), Shenmen (HT7), Zhongzhu (TE3), Waiguan (TE5), Dazhui (GV14), all treated with moxibustion.
Yansheng (a type of scrofula growing along the chest and axilla, resembling a gourd vine): Primary points: Jianjing (GB21), Danzhong (CV17), Daling (PC7), Zhigou (TE6), Yanglingquan (GB34), Waiguan (TE5).
Huidai (nodule arising below the left ear root): Primary points: Yifeng (TE17), Houxi (SI3), Zhoujian (Ex-UE9), Waiguan (TE5).
Fengke (nodule arising below the right ear root): Primary points: Yifeng (TE17), Jiache (ST6), Houxi (SI3), Hegu (LI4), Waiguan (TE5).
Another prescription: Take a rope, wrap it around the patient's neck so that both ends hang down and meet at the tip of the Jiuwei bone (xiphoid process). Cut the rope. Rotate the two ends so they meet on the spine, and mark the end of the rope. Measure the distance between the patient's two mouth corners, fold it in half like the character "One", and mark it with ink. Place this mark horizontally on the spine, and apply 100 moxa cones at each end.
Another prescription: Wrap a rope around the patient's neck once, returning to the starting point, and cut it. Hang one end of this rope vertically down from Dazhui (GV14) along the spine, and mark the end of the rope. Measure the distance between the patient's two mouth corners, fold it in half like the character "One", and mark it with ink. Place this mark horizontally on the marked point on the spine, and apply 100 moxa cones at each end. This yields excellent results.
Gudu (Gu poison/parasitic disease): Moxibustion on Juque (CV14), Shangwan (CV13), and the tip of the little toe, 3 cones each. If foreign matter is expelled due to improper diet, the disease resolves.
San Chong Tong (pain caused by three parasites): Excessive saliva in the chest. Moxibustion on Shangwan (CV13), located 2 cun below Jiutui (CV15), for 14 to 100 cones. If not cured, double the moxibustion dosage.
Chong Yao Xin Tong (heart pain caused by parasite disturbance): Pain moves up and down, comes and goes intermittently, accompanied by thirst, vomiting, nausea, salivation, white spots on the face, red lips alternating between cyanotic-white and pale-red. The patient can eat after the pain subsides. Press the painful area tightly with the hand, holding it firmly without moving. Insert a needle, retain it for a long time until the parasite stops moving, then remove the needle. In the first half of the lunar month, position the needle so the parasite's head faces upward; in the second half, position it so the head faces downward. Before each meal, chew meat but do not swallow to make the parasite's head face upward, then use acupuncture and herbs.
Bu De An Wo, Bu Neng Shui (inability to lie peacefully or sleep): All caused by Heart Heat. Hun Shui Kun Bei (drowsiness, lethargy, and exhaustion): Caused by Deficiency-Heat of the Kidney and Spleen. Treat points from the Heart, Spleen, and Kidney meridians: Liver Shu (BL18) moxibusted for 7 cones; Lung Shu (BL13) moxibusted for 2 cones; Erjian (LI2), Shaoshang (LU11), Baihui (GV20), Xinhui (EX-HN16) treated with moxibustion. Another prescription: Jie Xi (ST41), Yong Quan (KI1).
Wu Shui (insomnia): Yinjiao (CV13), located 1 cun below the umbilicus, moxibusted for 100 cones. Yixi (BL42), located bilaterally 3.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the sixth thoracic vertebra. Press the area with the hand; the patient will utter "Yixi". Moxibustion for 14 to 100 cones.
