上六味，以水一斗，煮取三升，温服一升，日三服。后人加半夏麦冬赤茯苓枇杷叶，亦
以此名。
半夏生姜加大黄汤（金匮） 病患胸中似喘不喘，似呕不呕，似哕不哕，心中愦愦
然无奈者，此汤主之。
半夏（半升） 生姜汁（一斤） 大黄（量加）
水七升，煮半夏取二升，内姜汁煮取一升，分四服，日三夜一服，止停后服。
黄连阿胶汤（仲景） 少阴病，得之二三日以上，心中烦不得卧，此汤主之。
黄连（四两） 黄芩（一两） 芍药（二两） 阿胶（三两） 鸡子黄（二枚）
上五味，以水六升，煮三物去渣，内胶烊尽，小冷，内鸡子黄扰令相得，温服七合，日

萎蕤汤（《活人书》） 治风温兼疗冬温，及春月中风，伤寒发热，头眩喉痛，咽
干舌强，胸内疼痞满，腰背强。

脾肾双补丸（仲淳）

上为末，炼蜜丸。如虚而有火，或火盛肺热者，去人参肉豆蔻巴戟肉补骨脂。
当归抑气散（严氏） 治妇人气盛于血，变生诸症，头晕膈满。

每服二钱。
达原饮（吴氏）

三消饮（吴氏） 邪渐入胃，此方乃表里分消法也。
即前达原饮加羌活葛根柴胡大黄姜枣煎服。
凉膈散（《局方》） 治心火上盛，膈热有余，目赤头眩，口疮唇裂，吐衄涎嗽稠
粘，二便淋闭，胃热发斑，疮疹黑陷，诸风 ，手足掣搦，筋挛疼痛。
连翘 栀子 薄荷 黄芩 甘草 芒硝 大黄
加枣二枚，葱一根水煎。
清心凉膈散 治症同上。
即前凉膈散加黄连竹叶。煎成去渣，入蜜少许温服。如头痛加防风川芎石膏。
田氏五子饮 治精气不固，梦遗滑脱。
枸杞子 菟丝子 五味子 车前子 覆盆子
水煎服。
滋燥养荣汤 治爪枯肤燥兼风秘，火烁金伤血液亡。
生地 熟地 黄芩 甘草 当归 白芍 秦艽 防风
三化汤（洁古） 治中风外有六经之形症，内有便溺之阻。
即小承气汤加羌活。
犀角地黄汤（《局方》） 治劳动心火，热入血室，吐血衄血，发黄发狂，及小儿
疮痘血热等症。

水煎服，或地浆水煎。
治气六合汤（海藏） 治气郁经阻。
四物汤加浓朴陈皮。
水煎服。
戊己丸（《局方》）治脾经受湿，泻痢不止，水谷不化，脐腹刺痛。

上为细末，面糊丸，桐子大，每服七十丸，空心食前米饮下。
导赤各半汤（节庵） 治劳动心神，伏邪抑发。

吴萸四逆汤 治厥阴中寒，小腹痛甚。
附子 干姜 甘草 吴茱萸
加生姜水煎服。
三妙散 治湿热上行。
即二妙散，加牛膝。
为末服。
补肝散（《简易》） 治肝虚目睛疼，冷泪不止，筋脉痛，及羞明怕日。
夏枯草（五钱） 香附（一两）
为末，每服一钱，腊茶调下，服无时。
当归养荣汤（《原机》） 治睛珠痛甚不可忍。
熟地 白芍 归身 川芎（各一钱） 羌活 防风 白芷（各七分半）
上方以七情五贼劳役饥饱重伤脾胃。脾胃者，多血多气之所。脾胃受伤，则血亦病，血

芷解利引入胃经为君，白芍止痛益血通血，承接上下为臣，熟地补肾水真阴为佐，当归川芎
行血补血，羌活除风引入少阴为使。血为邪胜睛珠痛者，及亡血过多之病，俱宜服也。服此
药后，睛痛虽除，眼睫无力，常欲垂闭不减者，助阳活血汤主之。
助阳活血汤（原机） 治眼睫无力，常欲垂闭。

上方专补血，故以当归熟地为君，川芎白芍牛膝为臣，以其祛风续绝，定痛而通补血也

五退散 治眼中翳障。

上为细末，每服二钱，食后薄荷汤下。
千金磁朱丸（原机） 治神水宽大渐散，昏如雾露中行，渐睹空中有黑花，渐睹物
成二体，久则光不收，及内障神水淡绿色、淡白色者。
磁石（吸针者） 辰砂 神曲
先以磁石置巨火中 ，醋淬七次，晒干，另研极细二两，辰砂另研极细一两，生神曲末
三两
，与前药和匀，以神曲末一两，水和作饼，煮浮为度，搜入前药，炼蜜为丸，如梧子大，每
服十丸，加至三十丸，空心饭汤下。上方以磁石辛咸寒，镇坠肾经为君，令神水不外移也。
辰砂微甘寒，镇坠心经为臣，肝其母，此子能令母实也，肝实则目明。神曲辛温甘，化脾胃
中宿食为佐，生用者，发其生气，熟用者，敛其暴气也。服药后，俯视不见，仰视渐睹星月
者，此其效也。亦治心火乘金，水衰反制之病，久病累发者服之，则永不更作，空心服此，
午前更以石斛夜光丸主之。
王肯堂按此方磁石法水入肾，辰砂法火入心，而神曲专入脾胃，乃道家黄婆媒合婴 之
理，倪生释之为费词矣，或加沉香半两，升降水火之义。
石斛夜光丸 治症同上。

上方羡补药也。补上治下利以缓，利以久不利以速也，故君以天冬人参菟丝之通肾安神

阴填精也。臣以麦冬五味杏仁茯苓枸杞牛膝二地之敛气除湿，凉血补血也。佐以甘菊蒺藜石
斛苁蓉川芎甘草枳壳山药青葙之治风疗虚，益气祛毒也。使以防风黄连草决羚羊犀角之散滞
泄热，解结明目也。阴弱不能配阳之病，并宜服之，此从则顺之治法也。
济阴地黄丸 治足三阴亏损，虚火上炎，致目瞳散大，视物不的，或昏花涩紧，
作痛羞明，或卒见非常等症。

上为末，炼蜜丸桐子大，每服七八十丸，空心白汤下。
加减驻景丸 治肝肾气虚，视物 ，血少气多。

菟丝子（酒煮焙，半斤） 川椒
上为细末，蜜水煮和丸，如桐子大，每服三十丸，空心温酒送下，盐汤亦可。
三仁五子丸 治肝肾不足，体弱眼昏，内障生花，不计远近，即前驻景丸加柏仁
枣仁米仁苁蓉茯苓沉香，等分为末，蜜丸桐子大，每服五十丸，空心盐汤下。
四物五子丸 治肾亏血亏。
即前驻景丸合四物。
六味五子丸 治左尺无力，或脉数有热，真阴虚者。
即前驻景丸去归地合六味。
地芝丸 治目能远视不能近视。
生地（焙） 天冬（各四两） 枳壳（炒） 菊花（各二两）
上为细末，炼蜜丸桐子大，每服一百丸，茶清送下。
定志丸 治目能近视不能远视。
远志（去苗心） 菖蒲（各二两） 人参 茯苓（各一两）
为细末蜜丸，朱砂为衣，每服十丸，加至二十丸，食后米饮下。
除风益损汤（《原机》） 治目为物伤。
四物汤（各一钱） 防风 前胡 本（各七分）
水煎服。
上方以熟地补肾水为君，黑睛为肾之子，此虚则补其母也，以当归补血，目为血所养，
今伤
则血病，白芍补血又补气，为血病气亦病也，为臣，川芎治血虚头痛， 本通血去头风为佐
，前胡防风，通疗风邪，俾不凝留为使，兼治亡血过多之病。
加味四物汤 治打伤眼目。
即四物汤加防风荆芥等分。
为散，每服三钱，水一盏半，煎至一盏，再入生地汁少许，去渣温服，再以生地一两，
杏仁二十粒，去皮尖研烂，用绵纸裹药敷在眼上令干。
人参补阳汤（原机） 治伤寒余邪不散，上走空窍，其病隐涩赤肿，生翳羞明，头
脑骨痛。
羌活 独活（各六分） 白芍 生地 泽泻（各三分） 人参 白术 茯苓 黄 甘草
当归 熟地（酒洗，焙，各四分） 柴胡 防风（各五分）
水煎服。
上方分利阴阳，升降上下之药也。羌活独活为君，导阳之升也。茯苓泽泻为臣，导阴之
降也
。参术大补脾胃，内盛则邪自不容， 防大实皮毛，外密则邪自不入，为之佐也。当归熟地
，
俱生血，谓目得血而能视也。生地补肾水，谓神水属肾，白芍理气，柴胡行经，甘草和百药
，为之使也。
神效黄 汤（东垣） 治目紧缩小，羞明畏日，视物不明。
黄 （二钱） 人参（八分） 蔓荆子 甘草（炙） 陈皮（各一钱） 白芍
水煎，临卧热服。
五味泻白散 治风热翳膜血筋，一切肺热外障。
当归 生地 白芍 栀子 黄芩
各等分为末，每服三五钱，为散为汤任服。
清宁丸 治一切热病。
大黄（十斤，须锦纹者，切作小块如棋子大）
用好酒十斤，先将泔水浸大黄，浸透，以侧柏叶铺甑，入大黄蒸过晒干，以酒浸之，再
蒸晒收干，另用
桑叶 桃叶 槐叶 大麦 黑豆 绿豆（各一斤）
每味煎汁蒸收，每蒸一次，仍用侧柏叶铺甑蒸过晒干，再蒸再晒，制后再用。
半夏 浓朴 陈皮 白术 香附 车前（各一斤）
每味煎汁蒸收如上法，蒸过晒干，再用好酒十斤制透，炼为梧子大丸，每服一二钱，或
为散亦可。
珠参散（新方） 治真阴不足，阴涸内热，内障青盲。
真珠 人参
等分为末，人参汤送，或莲肉汤亦可。
行血散（新方） 治血为邪乘，凝住经络，或因过服寒凉，遏抑阳气，阻塞不通，
致目生翳膜，视物少形，及妇人经水不至，睛赤珠疼，起星起障， 肉羞明等症。
红花 苏木
或合四物六物，或合逍遥八珍，随时酌用。
清暑汤（新方） 治夏月贪凉饮冷，遏抑阳气，以致头痛恶寒，相火上炎，两目红
肿，眵泪如脓，甚者色带黄滞，睛珠翳障，及深秋伏暑内发，赤涩羞明。
藿香 青蒿 滑石
以三味作汤，暑必伤气，藿香辛温通气，暑必兼热，青蒿苦寒清热，暑必挟湿，滑石甘
淡除湿，或合四君，或合六味，或合生脉异功逍遥散，均可随症酌用。
清火汤（新方） 治天行热毒，人有受之即发，头疼目赤，痒痛异常，或泪如血水
，舌红口渴，小便短赤。
连翘 山栀 归尾 赤芍 石斛
水煎服。连翘除其上热，山栀导其下热，归芍破其血，为血实宜破之也。石斛清其中，
为中热宜清之也。合导赤散同用，以治两皆红肿之症，应手取效。
柏香丸（新方） 专治 肉板睛，或眼生血疣，神效异常。数服之后， 肉即退。
若血疣则不摘而自落，屡试屡验，用者珍之。
侧柏叶（同在黄拌蒸数次） 香附（制）
水法丸，每服二钱。
和肝散（新方） 治肝气不和，目赤肿痛，或因含怒未发，郁伤肝阴，以致肝阳上
僭，两目昏花，羞明翳雾，眵泪俱多，甚则瞳神散大，视物无形。
香附（一斤，分作四分，一分以酒浸，一分以盐水浸，一分以蜜浸，一分以乳浸，每浸
三日夜后，晒干，各为细末）
橘皮（二升） 竹茹（二升） 大枣（三十枚） 生姜（半斤） 甘草（五两） 人参（一两）

以上五味药，用水六升，先煮前三味药去渣，加入阿胶使其完全溶化，待药液稍凉，加入鸡子黄搅拌均匀，每次温服七合，每日服用三次。
萎蕤汤（出自《活人书》） 治疗风温兼治冬温，以及春季中风、伤寒发热、头晕喉痛、咽干舌强、胸内疼痛痞满、腰背僵硬。
萎蕤（三钱） 石膏（一两，捣碎） 白薇 麻黄（热水浸泡后焙干） 葛根（一两） 羌活 川芎 甘草 杏仁（去皮尖，各半两） 青木香（一分，冬季用一两，春季用半两，炒制）
以上药物切碎如麻豆大小，每次服用五钱，用水一盏半，煎至一盏，每日服用三次。
脾肾双补丸（陈实功方）
人参 莲肉（炒制） 山萸（烘干） 山药（各一斤，炒制） 五味子（蜂蜜蒸制） 菟丝子（各半斤） 橘红

以上研为细末，炼蜜丸桐子大，每次服用七八十丸，空腹白汤送下。
加减驻景丸 治疗肝肾气虚，视物不明，血少气多。
熟地 当归（各五两） 枸杞子 五味子 车前子（各二两，略炒） 楮实子（无翳不用） 菟丝子（酒煮焙，半斤） 川椒
以上研为细末，蜜水煮和丸，如桐子大，每次服用三十丸，空腹温酒送下，盐汤亦可。
三仁五子丸 治疗肝肾不足，体弱眼昏，内障生花，不计远近，即前驻景丸加柏仁、枣仁、米仁、苁蓉、茯苓、沉香，等分为末，蜜丸桐子大，每次服用五十丸，空腹盐汤送下。
六味五子丸 治疗左尺无力，或脉数有热，真阴虚者。
即前驻景丸去当归、熟地合六味地黄丸。
地芝丸 治疗目能远视不能近视。
生地（焙干） 天冬（各四两） 枳壳（炒） 菊花（各二两）
以上研为细末，炼蜜丸桐子大，每次服用一百丸，茶清送下。
定志丸 治疗目能近视不能远视。
远志（去苗心） 菖蒲（各二两） 人参 茯苓（各一两）
研为细末蜜丸，朱砂为衣，每次服用十丸，加至二十丸，食后米饮送下。
除风益损汤（《原机启微》） 治疗目为物伤。
四物汤（各一钱） 防风 前胡 藁本（各七分）
水煎服。
上方以熟地补肾水为君药，黑睛为肾之子，此虚则补其母也，以当归补血，目为血所养，今伤则血病，白芍补血又补气，为血病气亦病也，为臣药，川芎治血虚头痛，藁本通血去头风为佐药，前胡防风，通疗风邪，俾不凝留为使药，兼治亡血过多之病。
加味四物汤 治疗打伤眼目。
即四物汤加防风荆芥等分。
研为散，每次服用三钱，用水一盏半，煎至一盏，再入生地汁少许，去渣温服，再以生地一两，杏仁二十粒，去皮尖研烂，用绵纸裹药敷在眼上令干。
人参补阳汤（《原机启微》） 治疗伤寒余邪不散，上走空窍，其病隐涩赤肿，生翳羞明，头脑骨痛。
羌活 独活（各六分） 白芍 生地 泽泻（各三分） 人参 白术 茯苓 黄芪 甘草 当归 熟地（酒洗，焙，各四分） 柴胡 防风（各五分）
水煎服。
上方分利阴阳，升降上下之药也。羌活独活为君药，导阳之升也。茯苓泽泻为臣药，导阴之降也。参术大补脾胃，内盛则邪自不容，防风大实皮毛，外密则邪自不入，为之佐也。当归熟地，俱生血，谓目得血而能视也。生地补肾水，谓神水属肾，白芍理气，柴胡行经，甘草和百药，为之使也。
神效黄芪汤（李东垣方） 治疗目紧缩小，羞明畏日，视物不明。
黄芪（二钱） 人参（八分） 蔓荆子 甘草（炙） 陈皮（各一钱） 白芍
水煎，临卧热服。
五味泻白散 治疗风热翳膜血筋，一切肺热外障。
当归 生地 白芍 栀子 黄芩
各等分为末，每次服用三五钱，为散为汤任服。
清宁丸 治疗一切热病。
大黄（十斤，须锦纹者，切作小块如棋子大）
用好酒十斤，先将泔水浸大黄，浸透，以侧柏叶铺甑，入大黄蒸过晒干，以酒浸之，再蒸晒收干，另用桑叶、桃叶、槐叶、大麦、黑豆、绿豆（各一斤）
每味煎汁蒸收，每蒸一次，仍用侧柏叶铺甑蒸过晒干，再蒸再晒，制后再用。
半夏 浓朴 陈皮 白术 香附 车前（各一斤）
每味煎汁蒸收如上法，蒸过晒干，再用好酒十斤制透，炼为梧子大丸，每次服用一二钱，或为散亦可。
珠参散（新方） 治疗真阴不足，阴涸内热，内障青盲。
真珠 人参
等分为末，人参汤送，或莲肉汤亦可。
行血散（新方） 治疗血为邪乘，凝住经络，或因过服寒凉，遏抑阳气，阻塞不通，致目生翳膜，视物少形，及妇人经水不至，睛赤珠疼，起星起障，胬肉羞明等症。
红花 苏木
或合四物六物，或合逍遥八珍，随时酌用。
清暑汤（新方） 治疗夏月贪凉饮冷，遏抑阳气，以致头痛恶寒，相火上炎，两目红肿，眵泪如脓，甚者色带黄滞，睛珠翳障，及深秋伏暑内发，赤涩羞明。
藿香 青蒿 滑石
以三味作汤，暑必伤气，藿香辛温通气，暑必兼热，青蒿苦寒清热，暑必挟湿，滑石甘淡除湿，或合四君，或合六味，或合生脉异功逍遥散，均可随症酌用。
清火汤（新方） 治疗天行热毒，人有受之即发，头疼目赤，痒痛异常，或泪如血水，舌红口渴，小便短赤。
连翘 山栀 归尾 赤芍 石斛
水煎服。连翘除其上热，山栀导其下热，归芍破其血，为血实宜破之也。石斛清其中，为中热宜清之也。合导赤散同用，以治两皆红肿之症，应手取效。
柏香丸（新方） 专治胬肉攀睛，或眼生血疣，神效异常。数服之后，胬肉即退。若血疣则不摘而自落，屡试屡验，用者珍之。
侧柏叶（同在黄芪拌蒸数次） 香附（制）
水法丸，每次服用二钱。
和肝散（新方） 治疗肝气不和，目赤肿痛，或因含怒未发，郁伤肝阴，以致肝阳上僭，两目昏花，羞明翳雾，眵泪俱多，甚则瞳神散大，视物无形。
香附（一斤，分作四分，一分以酒浸，一分以盐水浸，一分以蜜浸，一分以乳浸，每浸三日夜后，晒干，各为细末）
Tangerine Peel (2 sheng), Bamboo Shavings (2 sheng), Jujube (30 pieces), Fresh Ginger (0.5 jin), Licorice Root (5 liang), Ginseng Root (1 liang).
The above six ingredients are boiled in one dou of water to obtain three sheng of decoction. Take one sheng warm, three times a day. Later generations added Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia), Ophiopogon Tuber (Maidong), Red Poria (Chifuling), and Loquat Leaf (Pipaye), also named by this formula.
Banxia Shengjiang Dahuang Tang (from *Jin Gui Yao Lue*)
For patients feeling as if panting but not panting, as if vomiting but not vomiting, as if hiccoughing but not hiccoughing, with a sense of mental confusion and helplessness in the heart, this decoction is indicated.
Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia) (0.5 sheng), Ginger Juice (Shengjiang Zhi) (1 jin), Rhubarb (Dahuang) (add according to quantity).
Boil Pinellia Rhizome in seven sheng of water to obtain two sheng, then add Ginger Juice and boil to obtain one sheng. Divide into four doses: three times during the day and once at night. Stop taking after symptoms cease.
Huanglian Ejiao Tang (Zhang Zhongjing's Formula)
For Shaoyin disease (disease of the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney meridian) persisting for more than two or three days, characterized by mental restlessness and inability to sleep, this decoction is indicated.
Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) (4 liang), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin) (1 liang), Peony Root (Shaoyao) (2 liang), Donkey-hide Gelatin (Ejiao) (3 liang), Egg Yolk (Jizi Huang) (2 pieces).
Boil the first three ingredients in six sheng of water, remove the dregs, dissolve the gelatin, let it cool slightly, then stir in the egg yolks until well mixed. Take 7 he warm, three times a day.
Weirui Tang (from *Huo Ren Shu*)
Treats Wind-Warmth, also Winter-Warmth, and Spring Wind-Cold with fever, dizziness, sore throat, dry throat, stiff tongue, chest pain and fullness, and stiffness in the waist and back.
Anemarrhena Rhizome (Weirui) (3 qian), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao) (1 liang, crushed), Bitter Orange Root Cortex (Baiwei), Ephedra Stem (Mahuang) (soaked in hot water and baked), Kudzu Root (Gegen) (1 liang), Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Licorice Root (Gancao), Apricot Seed (Xingren) (skin and tip removed, each 0.5 liang), Blue Sandalwood Wood (Qingmuxiang) (1 fen, 1 liang in winter, 0.5 liang in spring, stir-fried).
Cut into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Take 5 qian per dose, boil in 1.5 cups of water until 1 cup remains. Take three times a day.
Pishen Shuangbu Wan (Chen Shigong's Formula)
Ginseng Root (Renshen), Lotus Seed (Lianrou) (stir-fried), Cornus Fruit (Shanyuzi) (dried), Chinese Yam (Shanyao) (each 1 jin, stir-fried), Schisandra Berry (Wuweizi) (steamed with honey), Dodder Seed (Tusizi) (each 0.5 jin), Tangerine Peel (Juhong), Amomum Fruit (Sharen) (each 6 liang, stir-fried), Plantago Seed (Cheqianzi) (soaked in rice wash water), Morinda Root (Bajirou) (each 12 liang, boiled in licorice juice), Nutmeg (Roudoukou) (10 liang), Psoralea Fruit (Buguzhi) (1 jin, soaked in salt water and stir-fried).
Grind into powder, mix with refined honey to make pills. If deficiency with fire, or excessive fire and lung heat, remove Ginseng Root, Nutmeg, Morinda Root, and Psoralea Fruit.
Danggui Yiqi San (Yan Shi's Formula)
Treats women where qi exceeds blood, generating various symptoms such as dizziness and chest fullness.
Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui) (3 liang), Cyperus Rhizome (Xiangfu) (4 liang), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi) (2 liang), Spirit of Poria (Fushen) (1 liang), Licorice Root (Gancao) (1 liang, roasted).
Take 2 qian per dose.
Dahuang Yin (Wu Youke's Formula)
Areca Seed (Binglang) (2 qian), Magnolia Bark (N Houpu) (1 qian), Tsaoko Fruit (Caoguo) (5 fen), Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhimu) (1 qian), Peony Root (Shaoyao) (1 qian), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin) (1 qian), Licorice Root (Gancao) (5 fen).
Boil in two cups of water until eight parts remain. Take warm in the afternoon.
Sanxiao Yin (Wu Youke's Formula)
When pathogenic factors gradually enter the stomach, this formula uses the method of resolving exterior and interior simultaneously.
It is the previous Dahuang Yin plus Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo), Kudzu Root (Gegen), Bupleurum Root (Chaihu), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Fresh Ginger (Shengjiang), and Jujube (Dazao), boiled and taken.
Liangge San (from *Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang*)
Treats excess heart fire, excess diaphragm heat, red eyes and dizziness, mouth ulcers and cracked lips, spitting blood or nosebleeds with thick sticky saliva, difficult urination and defecation, stomach heat causing macules, blackening and sinking of sores/rashes, various wind syndromes, twitching of hands and feet, tendon cramping and pain.
Barberry Fruit (Lianqiao), Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi), Mint Herb (Bohe), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Licorice Root (Gancao), Mirabilite (Mangxiao), Rhubarb (Dahuang).
Add two jujubes and one green onion stalk, boil in water.
Qingxin Liangge San
Treats the same symptoms as above.
It is the previous Liangge San plus Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) and Bamboo Leaf (Zhuye). After boiling, remove dregs, add a little honey, and take warm. For headache, add Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuanxiong), and Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao).
Tian Shi Wuzi Yin
Treats insecurity of essence and qi, seminal emission and slipping.
Goji Berry (Gouqizi), Dodder Seed (Tusizi), Schisandra Berry (Wuweizi), Plantago Seed (Cheqianzi), Raspberry (Fupenzi).
Boil in water and take.
Zizao Yangrong Tang
Treats withered nails and dry skin combined with wind constipation, and fire scorching metal damaging blood fluids.
Rehmannia Root (Shengdi), Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shudi), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Licorice Root (Gancao), Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), White Peony Root (Baishao), Gentian Root (Qinjiao), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng).
Sanhua Tang (Zhang Yuansu's Formula)
Treats stroke with exterior manifestations of the six meridians and interior obstruction of stool and urine.
It is Xiao Chengqi Tang plus Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo).
Xijiao Dihuang Tang (from *Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang*)
Treats labor-induced heart fire, heat entering the blood chamber, hematemesis and epistaxis, jaundice and mania, and pediatric sores/rashes with blood heat.
Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) (tip only), Rehmannia Root (Shengdi), White Peony Root (Baishao), Moutan Bark (Danpi).
Boil in water and take, or boil in earth slurry water.
Zhiqi Liuhe Tang (Wang Haogu's Formula)
Treats qi stagnation and meridian blockage.
Siwu Tang plus Magnolia Bark (N Houpu) and Tangerine Peel (Chenpi).
Boil in water and take.
Wuji Wan (from *Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang*)
Treats spleen meridian dampness, continuous diarrhea and dysentery, undigested food and water, and stabbing pain in the umbilical and abdominal region.
Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu), White Peony Root (Baishao) (each 5 liang).
Alternative prescription: Coptis Rhizome 4 liang, Evodia Fruit 2 liang, White Peony Root 3 liang.
Grind into fine powder, make pills with wheat paste, size of wu zi. Take 70 pills per dose before meals on an empty stomach with rice drink.
Daochi Banban Tang (Jie'an's Formula)
Treats labor injuring heart spirit, latent pathogen suppressed and erupting.
Ginseng Root (Renshen), Ophiopogon Tuber (Maidong), Spirit of Poria (Fushen), Licorice Root (Gancao), Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) (tip only), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhimu), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin), Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi), Talcum (Huashi).
Boil in water and take.
Wuyu Sini Tang
Treats Cold invading Jueyin, severe lower abdominal pain.
Aconite Root (Fuzi), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang), Licorice Root (Gancao), Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu).
Add fresh ginger, boil in water and take.
Sanmiao San
Treats damp-heat rising upward.
It is Er miao San plus Achyranthes Root (Niuxi).
Grind into powder and take.
Bu Gan San (from *Jian Yi*)
Treats liver deficiency causing eye pain, incessant cold tears, tendon and vessel pain, and photophobia.
Prunella Spike (Xiakucao) (5 qian), Cyperus Rhizome (Xiangfu) (1 liang).
Grind into powder, take 1 qian per dose mixed with winter tea, take at any time.
Danggui Yangrong Tang (from *Yuan Ji Qi Wei*)
Treats unbearable pain in the eyeball.
Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shudi), White Peony Root (Baishao), Angelica Sinensis Root Body (Guishen), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuanxiong) (each 1 qian), Notopterygium Rhizome (Qianghuo), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Angelica Dahurica Root (Baizhi) (each 0.75 qian).
The above analysis states that the seven emotions and five thieves, fatigue, hunger and fullness severely injure the spleen and stomach. The spleen and stomach are sources of abundant blood and qi. When injured, blood becomes diseased. Blood nourishes the eye; the eyeball belongs to the kidney. Now the vital energy fails to rise, and blood deficiency cannot nourish the eye, causing unbearable pain. Saposhnikovia Root raises and generates vitality; Angelica Dahurica guides into the stomach meridian as the sovereign herb. White Peony Root stops pain, benefits and unblocks blood, connecting upper and lower as the minister herb. Prepared Rehmannia Root tonifies kidney true yin as the assistant herb. Angelica Sinensis Root and Szechuan Lovage Rhizome move and tonify blood; Notopterygium Rhizome dispels wind and guides into the Shaoyin meridian as the envoy herb. This is suitable for eye pain due to blood being overcome by pathogens, and diseases of excessive blood loss. After taking this medicine, if eye pain ceases but eyelids are weak and constantly desire to close without relief, Zhuoyang Huoxue Tang is indicated.
Zhuoyang Huoxue Tang (from *Yuan Ji Qi Wei*)
Treats weak eyelids constantly desiring to close.
Astragalus Root (Huangqi), Licorice Root (Gancao), Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) (each 0.5 qian), Angelica Dahurica Root (Baizhi), Vitex Fruit (Manjingzi) (each 0.4 qian), Cimicifuga Rhizome (Shengma), Bupleurum Root (Chaihu) (each 0.7 qian).
Astragalus Root treats deficiency labor, Licorice Root tonifies primal qi as the sovereign herb. Angelica Sinensis Root harmonizes and tonifies blood as the minister herb. Angelica Dahurica, Vitex Fruit, and Saposhnikovia Root treat wind and raise yang qi as the assistant herbs. Cimicifuga Rhizome guides into the Foot-Yangming Stomach and Foot-Taiyin Spleen meridians; Bupleurum Root guides into the Foot-Jueyin Liver meridian as the envoy herb. This is also suitable for heart fire overcoming metal and water deficiency counter-restricting.
Danggui Buxue Tang (from *Yuan Ji Qi Wei*)
Treats men with epistaxis and hematochezia, women with postpartum metrorrhagia, excessive blood loss causing eyeball pain, inability to see, photophobia, soreness and dryness, weak eyelids, and soreness/pain in brow bones and temporal regions.
Rehmannia Root (Shengdi) (0.4 qian), Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shudi), Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui) (each 0.6 qian), White Peony Root (Baishao), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Achyranthes Root (Niuxi), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu), Licorice Root (Gancao), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) (each 0.5 qian), Asparagus Tuber (Tiandong) (0.4 qian).
This formula specifically tonifies blood, so Angelica Sinensis Root and Prepared Rehmannia Root are the sovereign herbs. Szechuan Lovage Rhizome, White Peony Root, and Achyranthes Root are the minister herbs, to dispel wind, restore continuity, stop pain, and unblock/tonify blood. Licorice Root and Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome greatly harmonize stomach qi as the assistant herbs. Saposhnikovia Root raises, Rehmannia Root tonifies kidney, Asparagus Tuber treats blood heat. Since blood loss generates wind and dryness, Asparagus Tuber is the envoy herb.
Wutui San
Treats corneal opacity in the eye.
Snake Slough (Shetui), Cicada Slough (Chantui), Silkworm Slough (Canhui), Pig Trotter Claws (Zhuti Zhao), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Chrysanthemum Flower (Juhua), Cassia Seed (Juemingzi), Abalone Shell (Shijueming), Licorice Root (Gancao).
Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose after meals with mint tea.
Qianjin Cizhu Wan (from *Yuan Ji Qi Wei*)
Treats widening and gradual dispersion of Shen Water (aqueous humor), vision dim like walking in fog/mist, gradually seeing black spots in the air, gradually seeing double images, eventually light not gathering, and internal cataracts with pale green or pale white Shen Water.
Magnetite (Cishi) (attracts iron), Cinnabar (Chensha), Medicated Leaven (Shenqu).
First, place Magnetite in a great fire, quench in vinegar seven times, dry, grind separately to extreme fineness (2 liang). Grind Cinnabar separately to extreme fineness (1 liang). Use raw Medicated Leaven powder (3 liang). Mix with previous medicines. Take 1 liang of Medicated Leaven powder, mix with water to make cakes, boil until floating, knead in previous medicines, refine honey to make pills size of wu zi. Take 10 pills, increase to 30 pills, before meals with rice soup. Magnetite is pungent, salty, and cold, settling the Kidney Meridian as the sovereign herb, preventing Shen Water from dispersing outward. Cinnabar is slightly sweet and cold, settling the Heart Meridian as the minister herb; Liver is its mother, "son can make mother substantial"; when Liver is substantial, vision is clear. Medicated Leaven is pungent, warm, and sweet, transforming old food in spleen/stomach as the assistant herb; raw use releases vital qi, cooked use restrains violent qi. Effect: looking down sees nothing, looking up gradually sees stars/moon. Also treats heart fire overcoming metal and water deficiency counter-restricting. For chronic recurrent cases, taking this will prevent recurrence. Take before meals, and in the morning take Shihu Yeguang Wan.
Wang Kentang notes: Magnetite follows water entering Kidney, Cinnabar follows fire entering Heart, Medicated Leaven enters Spleen/Stomach exclusively, following the Daoist principle of Huangpo mediating between infant and maiden. Ni Sheng explained this as verbose. Alternatively, add 0.5 liang of Agarwood (Chenxiang) for the meaning of ascending/descending water and fire.
Shihu Yeguang Wan
Treats the same symptoms as above.
Ginseng Root (Renshen), Asparagus Tuber (Tiandong) (baked), Poria (Fuling) (each 2 liang), Ophiopogon Tuber (Maidong), Rehmannia Root (Shengdi), Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shudi) (each 1 liang), Dodder Seed (Tusizi), Chrysanthemum Flower (Ganju), Cassia Seed (Juemingzi), Apricot Seed (Xingren), Chinese Yam (Shanyao), Goji Berry (Gouqizi), Achyranthes Root (Niuxi) (wine-soaked, each 0.75 qian), Schisandra Berry (Wuweizi), Tribulus Fruit (Jili), Dendrobium Stem (Shihu), Cistanche Stem (Rongcong), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Licorice Root (Gancao) (roasted), Bitter Orange Peel (Zhike) (bran-fried), Celosia Seed (Qingxiangzi), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao), Antelope Horn (Lingyangjiao) (shaved, each 0.5 qian).
Grind into fine powder, refine honey to make pills size of wu zi. Take 30-50 pills, send down with warm wine and salt water. Also known as Guben Huanjing Wan.
This formula is rich in tonifying herbs. Tonifying upper and treating lower, benefit via slowing, benefit via long-term non-benefit via speed. Thus, Asparagus Tuber, Ginseng Root, and Dodder Seed are sovereign to open Kidney, calm spirit, strengthen yin, and fill essence. Ophiopogon Tuber, Schisandra Berry, Apricot Seed, Poria, Goji Berry, Achyranthes Root, and both Rehmannias are ministers to gather qi, drain dampness, cool blood, and tonify blood. Chrysanthemum Flower, Tribulus Fruit, Dendrobium Stem, Cistanche Stem, Szechuan Lovage Rhizome, Licorice Root, Bitter Orange Peel, Chinese Yam, and Celosia Seed are assistants to treat wind and deficiency, boost qi, and detoxify. Saposhnikovia Root, Coptis Rhizome, Cassia Seed, Antelope Horn, and Rhinoceros Horn are envoys to dissipate stagnation, drain heat, resolve knots, and brighten eyes. Suitable for diseases where yin weakness cannot match yang. This is the treatment method of following and complying.
Jiyin Dihuang Wan
Treats deficiency of the three foot-yin meridians, deficiency fire flaming upward, causing dilated pupils, unclear vision, or blurred/dry/tight vision, painful photophobia, or sudden unusual visions.

Grind into fine powder, mix with honey water to make pills size of wu zi. Take 30 pills before meals with warm wine, or salt water.
Sanren Wuzi Wan
Treats liver/kidney insufficiency, weak body, blurry vision, internal cataracts with flowers, regardless of distance. It is the previous Zhujing Wan plus Semen Perillae (Bairen), Sour Jujube Seed (Zaoren), Coix Seed (Miren), Cistanche Stem (Rongcong), Poria (Fuling), Agarwood (Chenxiang), ground equally, made into honey pills size of wu zi. Take 50 pills before meals with salt water.
Siwu Wuzi Wan
Treats kidney deficiency and blood deficiency.
It is the previous Zhujing Wan combined with Siwu Tang.
Liuli Wuzi Wan
Treats weak left chi pulse, or rapid pulse with heat, true yin deficiency.
It is the previous Zhujing Wan removing Angelica Sinensis Root and Prepared Rehmannia Root, combined with Liuwei Dihuang Wan.
Dizhi Wan
Treats ability to see far but not near.
Rehmannia Root (Shengdi) (baked), Asparagus Tuber (Tiandong) (each 4 liang), Bitter Orange Peel (Zhike) (stir-fried), Chrysanthemum Flower (Juhua) (each 2 liang).
Grind into powder, refine honey to make pills size of wu zi. Take 100 pills sent down with clear tea.
Dingzhi Wan
Treats ability to see near but not far.
Polygala Root (Yuanzhi) (remove rootlet and heart), Acorus Rhizome (Changpu) (each 2 liang), Ginseng Root (Renshen), Poria (Fuling) (each 1 liang).
Grind into powder, make honey pills, coat with Cinnabar. Take 10 pills, increase to 20 pills, after meals with rice drink.
Chufeng Yisun Tang (from *Yuan Ji Qi Wei*)
Treats eye injury by objects.
Siwu Tang (each 1 qian), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Peucedanum Root (Qianhu), Ligusticum Wallichii Rhizome (Gaoben) (each 0.7 qian).
Boil in water and take.
Prepared Rehmannia Root tonifies kidney water as sovereign; Black Cornea is son of Kidney, deficiency tonifies mother. Angelica Sinensis Root tonifies blood; eye is nourished by blood, injury causes blood disease. White Peony Root tonifies blood and qi; blood disease implies qi disease, as minister. Szechuan Lovage Rhizome treats blood deficiency headache, Ligusticum Wallichii Rhizome unblocks blood and removes head wind, as assistant. Peucedanum Root and Saposhnikovia Root treat wind pathogens, preventing stagnation, as envoy. Also treats excessive blood loss.
Jiawei Siwu Tang
Treats bruised/injured eyes.
Siwu Tang plus equal parts Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) and Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie).
Grind into powder. Take 3 qian per dose, boil in 1.5 cups water until 1 cup remains. Add a little fresh Rehmannia Root juice, remove dregs, take warm. Then take 1 liang fresh Rehmannia Root and 20 Apricot Seeds (skin and tip removed, ground), wrap medicine in cotton paper and apply to eye until dry.
Renshen Buyang Tang (from *Yuan Ji Qi Wei*)
Treats residual pathogen from Cold Damage not dispersing, moving upward to hollow orifices, causing hidden astringency, redness/swelling, corneal opacity, photophobia, headache, and bone pain.

This formula separates/benefits yin and yang, ascends/descends upper and lower. Notopterygium Rhizome and Angelica Pubescens Root are sovereign, guiding yang ascent. Shenxiao Huangqi Tang (Li Dongyuan's Formula)
Treats tight/small eyes, photophobia, fear of sun, unclear vision.
Astragalus Root (Huangqi) (2 qian), Ginseng Root (Renshen) (0.8 fen), Vitex Fruit (Manjingzi), Licorice Root (Gancao) (roasted), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi) (each 1 qian), White Peony Root (Baishao).
Boil in water, take hot before bed.
Wuwei Xiebai San
Treats wind-heat corneal opacity and blood vessels, all lung-heat external opacities.
Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), Rehmannia Root (Shengdi), White Peony Root (Baishao), Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi), Scutellaria Root (Huangqin).
Equal parts ground into powder. Take 3-5 qian per dose, as powder or decoction as desired.
Qingning Wan
Treats all heat diseases.
Rhubarb (Dahuang) (10 jin, must have brocade patterns, cut into small pieces like chessmen).
Use 10 jin good wine. First soak Rhubarb in rice wash water until permeated. Line steamer with Platycladus Orientalis Leaf (Cebaiye), steam Rhubarb, dry, soak in wine, steam again, dry, collect. Separately use Mulberry Leaf (Sangye), Peach Leaf (Taoye), Sophora Leaf (Huaiye), Barley (Damai), Black Soybean (Heidou), Mung Bean (Lvdou) (each 1 jin).
Decoct each flavor, steam and collect. Each steaming, line steamer with Platycladus Orientalis Leaf, steam Rhubarb, dry, steam again, dry, process again.
Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia), Magnolia Bark (N Houpu), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu), Cyperus Rhizome (Xiangfu), Plantago Seed (Cheqian) (each 1 jin).
Decoct each flavor, steam and collect as above. Steam, dry, process thoroughly with 10 jin good wine. Refine into pills size of wu zi. Take 1-2 qian per dose, or as powder.
Zhushen San (New Formula)
Treats true yin insufficiency, yin exhaustion internal heat, internal cataracts and blindness.
Pearl (Zhenzhu), Ginseng Root (Renshen).
Equal parts ground into powder. Send down with Ginseng Root decoction, or Lotus Seed decoction.
Xingxue San (New Formula)
Treats blood invaded by pathogens, coagulating in meridians, or excessive intake of cold/cooling suppressing yang qi, blocking flow, causing corneal opacity, reduced vision, amenorrhea in women, red eyes/pain, star/opacity formation, pterygium photophobia.
Safflower (Honghua), Sappan Wood (Sumu).
Combine with Siwu or Liuwu, or Xiaoyao or Bazhen, adjust according to condition.
Qingshu Tang (New Formula)
Treats summer greed for cold/cool drinks suppressing yang qi, causing headache/chills, minister fire flaming upward, red/swollen eyes, purulent tearing, severe yellowish stagnation, corneal opacity, and deep autumn latent summerheat erupting internally, red/dry/photophobic.
Patchouli Herb (Huoxiang), Artemisia Annua (Qinghao), Talcum (Huashi).
Make decoction with these three. Summerheat damages qi; Patchouli is pungent/warm to unblock qi. Summerheat combines with heat; Artemisia Annua is bitter/cold to clear heat. Summerheat carries dampness; Talcum is sweet/light to drain dampness. Combine with Sijunzi, Liuwei, or Shengmai/Yigong/Xiaoyao San, adjust according to symptoms.
Qinghuo Tang (New Formula)
Treats epidemic heat toxin, immediate onset upon infection, headache/red eyes, abnormal itching/pain, tears like blood water, red tongue/thirst, short dark urine.
Barberry Fruit (Lianqiao), Gardenia Fruit (Zhizi), Angelica Sinensis Root Tail (Guiwei), Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao), Dendrobium Stem (Shihu).
Boil in water and take. Barberry Fruit clears upper heat, Gardenia Fruit guides lower heat, Angelica/Peony break blood stasis (blood excess requires breaking). Dendrobium clears middle heat (middle heat requires clearing). Combine with Daochi San to treat bilateral redness/swelling, effective immediately.
Baixiang Wan (New Formula)
Specifically treats pterygium growing onto cornea, or eye blood warts, exceptionally effective. After several doses, pterygium recedes. Blood warts fall off without removal, repeatedly tested and verified. Treasures this.
Platycladus Orientalis Leaf (Cebaiye) (steamed several times mixed with Astragalus Root), Cyperus Rhizome (Xiangfu) (processed).

He Gan San (New Formula)
