生姜汁半杯，白蜜二匙，同放茶碗内，滚水冲，温服，三四次而愈。或用前紫苏冲蛋方

猪板油、糯米糖、蜂蜜各四两，共熬成膏，时常挑服一匙，口中噙化，三五日即止。
又方∶核桃肉（不去皮）、生姜各一两，研膏，蜜为丸，三钱一颗，每卧时嚼一丸，姜

又方∶潞党一钱，陈皮、桔梗、紫苏各钱半，五味子十五粒，水煎，食远服。
诃子皮、五倍子、五味子、黄芩、甘草各等分为末，蜜丸樱桃大。每一丸，噙化咽下。

又方∶杏仁（去皮尖，并去油），捣融，兑开水，取汁炖热服，切忌煎熬。
又方∶白果仁四两，真白浓茯苓（取整个切用，药店中切成片者，皆米粉假造，断不可
用。）、桑白皮各二两，黑豆半升，白蜜半斤，煮熟，晒干为末，以人乳半杯拌湿，九蒸九
晒，为丸如绿豆大。每服三五十丸，开水下，神效。
又方∶青蒿一钱，童便煮服，极效。
痨病火动，阳物易举，方见前阴门。凡劳伤吐血咳嗽等症，忌食春芽，食则病发难愈。
枇杷膏∶专治劳伤虚损，吐血咳嗽，发烧，身体瘦弱，四肢酸软，精血疲倦，腰背疼痛
，饮食不进，以及一切不足弱症，服之屡效，咳嗽尤应验如神。轻者二三料痊愈，重者四五
料除根。贫富可用，不必另服别药，免致误用害事。即无病常服，可保身强神旺。此方得自
仙授，药极平易，功最神奇，见者广传，功德无量。枇杷叶五十六片（新鲜者更佳，洗净毛
。），大梨二个（深脐者佳，皮心，切片用。），白蜜半钟（先熬，滴水成珠，大便干燥者多加
，大便溏泄者不用，以白糖代之。），大枣半斤（或黑枣，微枣亦可。），建莲肉四两（不去皮
）。先将枇杷叶放铜锅内（砂锅亦可），以河水煎出浓汤，用绸沥清汁，去叶与渣不用，后将
梨、枣、莲、蜜和入煎熬，以莲肉融烂为止，用瓷瓶收贮，随意温热食之。凡虚病服药多，
则脾胃受伤，饮食减少，病更加重。虚弱咳嗽者，若不早治，肺损难治，惟此方最益肺脏，
治咳嗽应效如神。如虚弱并不咳嗽者，枇杷叶不用，只用河水同煮。咳嗽多痰者，加川贝母
一两，研极细末，俟煮熟时入内，煮一二滚取起。若吐血，用藕节二十一个，捣汁同煮。冬
月多制，久收不坏，夏月随食随制。
饴糖饮∶治男妇五劳七伤，身体烧热，精神困倦，不思饮食等症。咳嗽吐血者忌服。好
烧酒二斤，白糯米糖四两，核桃肉七个，装入瓷瓶内，不可太满，滚汤煮一炷香久，埋土内
七日去火毒，随便每日服一二杯，不可过多，大有奇效。
元霜膏∶治虚劳咳嗽，吐血下血，烧热困倦，其效如神。真乌梅汁、梨汁、萝卜汁、柿
霜、白沙糖、白蜜各四两，姜汁一两，赤苓末八分，款冬花（乳汁浸，晒干），紫菀末各二
两
加味四物汤∶治劳热咳嗽如神。当归、熟地各三钱，川芎、芍药各二钱，柳树根一两（
酒炒），水煎服，奇效。
雕胡饮∶治虚劳咳嗽，吐血吐脓，虽垂危亦可用也。茭菱细根，约三四两，捣碎，用好
陈酒煮服，每日一二次，半月全安。
坎离丸∶治一切虚劳，立见神效。黑豆炒熟研末、红枣量用，煮熟，去皮核。二味共捣
为丸，每服三四钱，盐汤送下，或酒下。
外治法∶治一切虚劳，咳嗽，吐血，烧热等症，但脉息有神，无不效应。箭头砂一两，
明雄五钱，共研细末，绵纸包固，选未曾行经十二三岁童女，身体壮实无病者，将药贴放童
女脐内，用布捆紧，过一周时取下，称药比前多重一二钱者更妙，即刻捆于病患脐上。先备
人乳十余碗，候病者口干发燥饮之，渴止，然后解去脐上之药，其病自去。再照枇杷膏调养
一月，百无一失，断不可服别药，以免误事。
人红丸∶专治童子虚劳，咳嗽吐血，烧热，屡试神验，大人亦治，切勿轻视。人龙（即
蛔虫）二十一条（童便洗净，瓦上焙干，以黄色为度，黑色则不效），不破皮红枣三十个（饭

Formulas for Chronic Cough (lasting 40-50 consecutive coughs):
Take half a cup of fresh ginger juice and two teaspoons of white honey, place them together in a tea bowl, brew with boiling water, and take warm. After three or four doses, it will be cured. Alternatively, use the previously mentioned Perilla Egg Formula, which is most effective.
Four taels of pork back fat, four taels of glutinous rice sugar, and four taels of honey are boiled together into a paste. Take one teaspoon occasionally and hold it in the mouth to dissolve slowly. The cough will stop within three to five days.
Another formula: One tael of walnut meat (with skin) and one tael of fresh ginger are ground into a paste, formed into pills with honey, each pill weighing three qian. Chew one pill before going to bed, and swallow with ginger soup.
Another formula: One qian of Lu Dangshen (Codonopsis pilosula), one and a half qian each of Chenpi (Dried Tangerine Peel), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), and Zisu (Perilla Leaf), and fifteen seeds of Wuweizi (Schisandra Berry). Decoct in water and take well after meals.
Equal parts of Heqipi (Tornillo Bark), Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis), Wuweizi (Schisandra Berry), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), and Gancao (Licorice Root) are ground into powder and formed into cherry-sized pills with honey. Hold one pill in the mouth until dissolved and then swallow.
Another formula: Almond kernels (skin and tips removed, oil extracted) are pounded into a pulp, mixed with boiling water, the juice is taken hot. Boiling is strictly prohibited.
Another formula: Four taels of Ginkgo nuts, four taels of genuine white Poria cocos (select whole pieces for slicing; sliced ones from pharmacies are often fake made with rice flour and must not be used), two taels of Sangbaipi (Mulberry Root Bark), half a sheng of black soybeans, and half a jin of white honey are cooked, dried, and ground into powder. Mix with half a cup of human breast milk, undergo nine steaming and nine sun-drying cycles, and form into mung-bean-sized pills. Take 30-50 pills at a time with warm water. This is highly effective.
Another formula: One qian of Qinghao (Artemisia Annua) is decocted in child's urine. This is extremely effective.
This is due to Spleen Qi deficiency. Use only genuine Chinese Yam (Shanyao), cook it thoroughly, mix with sugar, and take. This yields miraculous results.
In consumption disease, fire flares up, causing easy erection of the penis. See the formulas under the Yin Gate section earlier. For all conditions involving consumption injury, hemoptysis, and cough, spring buds should be avoided; consuming them may cause the disease to flare up and become difficult to cure.
Loquat Paste: Specifically treats consumption injury and deficiency, hemoptysis, cough, fever, emaciation, soreness and weakness of limbs, exhaustion of essence and blood, pain in the waist and back, anorexia, and all types of deficiency syndromes. It has been repeatedly effective, especially miraculous for cough. Mild cases recover in two or three courses; severe cases are cured in four or five courses. Suitable for both rich and poor, no other medicines need to be taken to avoid misuse. Even healthy people can take it regularly to maintain strong physique and vigorous spirit. This formula was received from immortal transmission; the ingredients are very common, yet the efficacy is magical. Spread this widely for boundless merit. Fifty-six Loquat leaves (fresh ones are better, wash off the hairs), two large pears (deep navel preferred, slice with skin and core), half a zhong of white honey (boil first until drops form pearls; increase if constipated, omit if loose stools, substitute with white sugar), half a jin of jujubes (black jujubes or small jujubes are also acceptable), four taels of Jianlianrou (Lotus Seed, keep the skin). First, put the loquat leaves in a copper pot (clay pot is also fine), decoct with river water to make a thick soup. Filter the clear juice through silk cloth, discarding the leaves and dregs. Then add the pear, jujube, lotus seed, and honey, and boil until the lotus seed melts completely. Store in a porcelain jar. Eat warm as desired. Taking many medicines for deficiency diseases often damages the Spleen and Stomach, reducing appetite and worsening the condition. For weak patients with cough, if not treated early, lung damage is hard to reverse. Only this formula benefits the Lung organ most effectively, curing cough miraculously. If there is weakness but no cough, do not use loquat leaves; just boil with river water. For cough with excessive phlegm, add one tael of Chuanbeimu (Fritillaria Bulb), ground to fine powder, add when cooked, boil briefly, and remove. For hemoptysis, use twenty-one Lotus root nodes, crush to juice, and boil together. Make more in winter for long-term storage; prepare as needed in summer.
Maltose Drink: Treats five labors and seven injuries in men and women, symptoms include body heat, mental fatigue, and loss of appetite. Contraindicated for those with cough and hemoptysis. Two jin of good liquor, four taels of white glutinous rice sugar, and seven walnut meats are placed in a porcelain bottle (not too full), boiled in hot water for the duration of one incense stick, buried in soil for seven days to remove fire toxicity. Take one or two cups daily as desired, not excessively. This has great miraculous effects.
Yuanshuang Paste: Treats consumptive cough, hematemesis and hematochezia, fever, and fatigue. Its efficacy is like magic. Four taels each of genuine sour plum juice, pear juice, radish juice, Diospyroi Fructus Frost (Persimmon Frost), white rock sugar, and white honey; one tael of ginger juice; eight fen of Chi Ling powder (Polyporus umbellatus); two taels each of Kuantonghua (Winter Flower) (soaked in milk, dried) and Ziwan powder (Aster Root).
Modified Siwu Decoction: Treats consumption-heat cough miraculously. Three qian each of Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) and Shudi (Prepared Rehmannia Root); two qian each of Chuanxiong (Sichuan Lovage Rhizome) and Shaoyao (Peony Root); one tael of Liushugen (Willow Root) (stir-fried with wine). Decoct in water and take. Miraculous effect.
Diaohu Yin: Treats consumptive cough, hemoptysis, and expectoration of pus. Can be used even in critical conditions. About three to four taels of Jiaoling xigen (Calamus root fibers) are crushed and decocted in good aged wine. Take once or twice daily. Full recovery in half a month.
Kanli Wan: Treats all types of consumptive diseases, showing immediate miraculous effects. Black soybeans are roasted and ground into powder; red dates are used in appropriate amounts, cooked, and peeled/pitted. These two are pounded together into pills. Take three to four qian per dose, delivered with salt water or wine.
External Treatment: Treats all types of consumptive diseases, cough, hemoptysis, and fever. As long as the pulse is vibrant, it is invariably effective. One tael of Jiantousha (Realgar/Orpiment mixture?), five qian of Ming Xionghuang (Realgar) are ground into fine powder, wrapped tightly in cotton paper. Select a healthy, disease-free girl aged 12-13 who has not yet menstruated. Apply the medicine to the girl's umbilicus and bind tightly with cloth. Remove after one week. Weigh the medicine; if it has gained one or two qian in weight, it is ideal. Immediately apply this medicine to the patient's umbilicus and bind. Prepare over ten bowls of human breast milk. When the patient feels dry mouth and thirst, give the milk. Once thirst stops, remove the medicine from the umbilicus, and the illness will depart. Follow up with Loquat Paste regimen for one month. Success rate is nearly 100%. Do not take other medicines to avoid mistakes.
Ren Hong Wan: Specifically treats juvenile consumptive disease, cough, hemoptysis, and fever. Repeatedly tested and miraculous. Also treats adults; do not underestimate. Twenty-one Renlong (Ascaris lumbricoides, i.e., roundworms) (washed in child's urine, baked on tiles until yellow; black indicates ineffectiveness), thirty unbroken-skin red dates (steamed over rice, pitted, mixed with earthworm powder, and formed into pills).
