Take three grains of Piperis Fructus (Hu Jiao, 胡椒), grind them into a fine powder, add a small amount of Saccharum Officinale (Baitang, 白糖), mix evenly to form pills. On the day before the malaria attack, place the pill inside the umbilicus and cover it with a plaster. Before the day of the malaria attack arrives, carry the child for a walk outside, and the symptoms will cease.
Another prescription: One quarter of an hour before the onset, insert Ophii Skin (Shetui, 蛇蜕) into the nostrils; for males, use the left side, and for females, the right side. Remove it after the time has passed; this is extremely effective.
Use four liang of Rheum Palmatum (Dahuang, 大黄) and two liang of Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus (Zaojiao, 皂角), grind them together into a powder, and make pills using water as a binder. Take one qian per dose, adjusting according to the child's age and size, and swallow with "rootless water" (such as rain or dew). This yields miraculous results.
Four large pond snails, five cloves of Allium Sativum (Dasuan, 大蒜), and three qian of Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi, 车前子), grind them all into a fine powder. Add a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) and grind again until uniform to form cakes. Apply one cake to the center of the umbilicus each time, covering it with a plaster. The illness will be cured when fluid is discharged through urination.
Additionally, for pediatric generalized edema: Use Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Xiangbaopi, 香苞皮), decoct a strong soup, and bathe the child in it; the condition will resolve immediately.
Take one liang of Viticis Fructus (Jinlingzi Rou, 金铃子肉) and five qian of Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu, 吴茱萸), grind them into a fine powder. Make pills using flour paste boiled in wine, sized like hemp seeds. Take several pills per dose, swallowed with salted water.
Another prescription: Take one pair of dried peaches that have been exposed to frost and snow, preserve their medicinal properties, grind them into powder, and take with non-ashy wine; the disease will heal spontaneously.
Take one qian of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) and three fen of Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻), decoct in water. Add one qian of Liu Yi San (Six-to-One Powder) to the decoction, and take warm; the patient will recover.
Take two liang of Porcine Adipose Tissue (Zhuyou, 猪油), refine it to remove dregs, add one liang of Polygoni Multiflori Caulis (Puhuang, 蒲黄 - *Note: Puhuang is typically Lygodii Spora, here likely referring to Lygodii Spora*), mix evenly, and apply topically; the anus will retract.
Another prescription: Apply powder of Myrobalani Fructus (Wubeizi, 五倍子), frequently push the prolapsed part back in, or wash with a decoction. Alternatively, applying Kangong Dingzi (Kangong Plaster/Paste) is also effective.
Take three qian each of Mume Fructus (Wumei, 乌梅) and Alpinia Oxyphylla Fructus (Yizhiren, 益智仁), five qian of Dioscorea Hypoglauca Rhizoma (Zhen Huai Shanyao, 真怀山药) (all stir-fried with salt water), two qian of Mantis Egg Case (Sangpiaoxiao, 桑螵蛸), and two qian of Fossilia Os Mastodi (Zhen Longgu, 真龙骨) (ground into powder).
Another prescription: Take one piece of Chicken Gizzard Membrane (Bu Luoshui Ji, i.e., Nejiujin/Chicken Stomach Lining from chicks hatched without falling), one chicken intestine, and one pig bladder. Roast them on tiles over fire until scorched, then grind into a fine powder. Take one qian per dose, swallowed with yellow wine. Use female chickens for boys and male chickens for girls.
Whenever children are ill, one should first observe the physical form, symptoms, and spirit/color, and only then examine the pulse. If the Liver is diseased, the face appears green; if the Heart is diseased, the face appears red; if the Spleen is diseased, the face appears yellow; if the Lung is diseased, the face appears white; if the Kidney is diseased, the face appears black. First, distinguish the Five Zang organs' pathologies, then assess the deficiency or excess of the prenatal essence (Tai Yuan) to treat accordingly, so as to avoid medical errors. Regarding tongue coating, it is particularly important: white coating indicates cold exposure, rough yellow coating indicates heat, a bare red tongue indicates deficiency, and a black coating indicates summerheat exposure. For children under three years old suffering from illness, observe the left hand for males and the right hand for females, specifically examining the Three Passes at the Tiger's Mouth (Hukou): The first segment is the Wind Pass, the second is the Qi Pass, and the third is the Life Pass. Differentiate by vein color: purple indicates heat, red indicates cold, cyan indicates convulsive wind (Jing Feng), white indicates infantile malnutrition (Gan Bing), black indicates malignant evil (Zhong E), and yellow indicates Spleen stagnation. If the vein appears in the Wind Pass, the condition is mild; if in the Qi Pass, it is severe; if it extends beyond the Life Pass, it is difficult to treat.
