Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) two liang, stir-fried; Gan Jiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis) five qian. Grind both into a fine powder. Take three qian per dose, mixed with warm rice soup on an empty stomach; the efficacy is miraculous.
Take one ancient brick of long-standing age, heat it until extremely red-hot. Place seven oil-fried dough cakes upon the brick. Spread powdered Huang Gua Gen (Radix Trichosanthis Cucumerinae, cucumber root) over the cakes. Cover with two layers of cloth and have the patient sit upon it, allowing the medicinal vapor to fumigate into the abdomen. Worms should be expelled. After three to five treatments, once all worms are eliminated, the condition will be cured.
Medical texts frequently include sections on conception, truly reflecting the profound concern for continuing the family line. I believe that the proliferation of descendants stems from ancestors accumulating virtue and oneself cultivating goodness; Heaven grants offspring, bringing the joy of many sons and fulfilling the plan to nurture heirs for future protection. This matter is significant and cannot be forced. I often see wealthy families under forty years old who, claiming childlessness and feigning physical weakness, accumulate concubines and mistresses, seek out strange prescriptions, indiscriminately ingest mineral drugs, and combine acrid-warm herbs, hoping to conceive. Little do they know that blazing Kidney Fire leads to unrestrained lust; unrestrained lust depletes Body Fluids; spirit declines and form deteriorates, ending in sighs over having no son. Furthermore, their lifespan is shortened, and they die prematurely. Is this not contrary to the principle that few desires lead to many children? Heaven loves life, and recovery can be swift. I advise those struggling with infertility to deeply understand Heaven's will, widely practice hidden virtues, speak words that harmonize Heaven and Earth, harbor loyalty and sincerity in heart, engage in marital relations without seeking beauty, and moderate desires without harming one's own body. One may support the clan and relatives, relieve emergencies and aid the distressed, circulate books of goodness, build or repair temples, establish charitable schools, care for orphans and widows, subsidize funerals, donate medicine and clothing, act alone if capable, or advocate fundraising if lacking resources. By diligently practicing all these good deeds in order, naturally there will be abundant offspring as sung in the "Zhongsi" ode, and auspicious signs like the Qilin's toe will appear. Moreover, people seek children originally because there is no one to entrust family affairs or guard the ancestral temple. If one has wealth but lacks heirs, leaving property ownerless, yet fails to cultivate virtue, instead seeking only momentary pleasure, leading to disputes over succession and litigation, the family will be ruined before death, and wealth will feed others while increasing one's own sins. How foolish! It is better to use such ownerless wealth for useful purposes. I pray that those seeking children will not rely solely on medicines, but uphold a benevolent heart, ensuring robust health so that descendants may encounter good fortune. Even if not biological, one may appoint an heir early, provide food and drink, teach and instruct them. Though not of the same bloodline, having someone to rely on and remember ensures continuity of the lineage, akin to one's own child. Those earnestly seeking heirs should not dismiss these words as empty talk.
