治痘疮出不快。
紫草 蝉壳 人参 白芍（各一分） 木通（一钱） 甘草（五分） 糯米（五十粒）
每二钱，煎服。
治痘疮已靥未靥之间，大热经日不除，如无他证，当利小便，此药主之。
泽泻（五钱） 白术 赤茯 猪苓（各三钱）
上末，每服半钱。煎，车前子汤调下。
治痘疮未愈之间，保脾土，进饮食，温血气，不致痒塌归肾黑陷之变，虽无他证，亦宜
常服。方见虚门。
每三钱，水煎服。
治痘疮出不快，颜色不红润光泽。不透者为血涩也。此药能活血，调和荣卫，
《活人书》用白芍药一味为末，治痘疮出不快，以此知四物汤诚痘疮之仙方也。加甘草，
好。方见虚门。
一方 治痘疮腹痛。煎白芍药服。
治痘疮太盛，或蓄瘀血，面黄粪黑。热甚，加黄芩。方见吐血门。
每服三钱，水煎服。
治痘疮烂，脓水不干，用多年屋上烂草，择净为末，掺之。盖墙头上烂草亦佳，因多受
风霜之气，故能治痘疮毒。
治痘疮不长，毒瓦斯陷伏。
人牙烧灰细研，酒调入猪血三五点，温服。
一方 治痘疮倒靥黑陷。
穿山甲取嘴上及前足者，烧灰存性，为末，酒调下。木香汤或紫草汤入些酒调服，尤好，
虽欲将绝，亦能苏而发红色。 但目闭无魂者不治。
又方 男用母女用父手指甲，烧研，细酒调服，尤妙。
治疗痘疮出疹缓慢。

将赤芍药研成粉末，用酒调服半钱。也可以用紫草煎汤调服，同样有效。
治疗痘疮处于已结痂或未结痂之间，持续多日高热不退，如果没有其他症状，应当通利小便，此药主治此症。

每次取三钱，加水煎煮后服用。
治疗痘疮出疹缓慢，颜色不红润光泽，透发不透畅，这是由于血行涩滞所致。此药能活血，调和营卫。
《活人书》中只用白芍药一味研末，治疗痘疮出疹缓慢，由此可知四物汤确实是治疗痘疮的仙方。加入甘草，效果更好。方剂见“虚损”门。
另一方：治疗痘疮腹痛。煎煮白芍药服用。
治疗痘疮过于盛大，或蓄积瘀血，面色发黄，粪便发黑。热势严重，加黄芩。方剂见“吐血”门。
每次服用三钱，加水煎煮后服用。
治疗痘疮溃烂，脓水不干，使用多年屋顶上的烂草，择净后研成粉末，撒在患处。墙头上的烂草也很好，因为多受风霜之气，所以能治疗痘疮毒邪。

将人牙烧成灰，细细研磨，用酒调入三五点猪血，温服。
另一方：治疗痘疮倒靥黑陷。
取穿山甲嘴上及前足的鳞片，烧灰存性，研为粉末，用酒调服。若加入木香汤或紫草汤少许，再用酒调服，效果更佳，即使病情危重欲绝，也能苏醒并透出红色。但如果是眼睛闭合无神者，则无法治愈。
又一方：男性患者用母亲的指甲，女性患者用父亲的指甲，烧研后用细酒调服，尤为奇妙。
To treat variola (smallpox) with slow eruption.
Arnebiae Radix seu Lithospermi Radix (Zicao), Cicadae Periostracum (Chenqiao), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao) (each 1 fen), Akebiae Caulis (Mutong), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (1 qian), Oryza Sativa Semen (Nuomi) (50 grains).
Take 2 qian per dose, decoct in water and take orally.
To treat variola with severe pain.
Grind Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao) into powder, mix with wine to take 0.5 qian. Decoction of Arnebiae Radix seu Lithospermi Radix (Zicao) mixed with wine is also effective.
To treat variola during the stage between crusting and non-crusting, with persistent high fever for several days without other symptoms, promoting urination is indicated; this formula governs such cases.
Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie) (5 qian), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Poria (Chifu), Polyporus (Zhuling) (each 3 qian).
Pulverize the above ingredients. Take 0.5 qian per dose. Decoct in water and take with a decoction of Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi).
To protect Spleen Earth, promote dietary intake, and warm Qi and Blood during the unhealed stage of variola, preventing complications such as itching, collapse, or blackening due to sinking into the Kidney, even if no other symptoms are present, regular use is advisable. See the "Deficiency" section for the formula.
Take 3 qian per dose, decoct in water and take orally.
To treat variola with slow eruption, lacking ruddy luster and translucency, caused by blood stasis. This formula invigorates blood and harmonizes Ying and Wei.
The *Liu Ren Shu* uses only White Peony Root (Baishaoyao) powdered to treat slow eruption of variola; thus, it is known that Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) is indeed a miraculous formula for variola. Adding Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) is beneficial. See the "Deficiency" section for the formula.
Another prescription: To treat abdominal pain due to variola. Decoct White Peony Root (Baishaoyao) and take.
To treat excessive variola or accumulated blood stasis, presenting with sallow complexion and black stool. If heat is severe, add Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin). See the "Hematemesis" section for the formula.
Take 3 qian per dose, decoct in water and take orally.
To treat ulcerated variola with non-drying pus and exudate. Use old, rotten grass from rooftops that has been there for many years, select clean pieces, grind into powder, and apply topically. Rotten grass from wall tops is also good, as it absorbs much wind and frost energy, thus capable of treating variola toxins.
To treat variola that fails to erupt, with toxic vapors sinking and lying latent.
Burn human teeth to ash, grind finely, mix with wine and 3-5 drops of porcine blood, and take warm.
Another prescription: To treat inverted crusting with blackening and sinking of variola.
Take scales from the snout and forefeet of Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia), burn to ash while preserving their nature, grind into powder, and take mixed with wine. Taking it with some Muxiang Tang (Costus Decoction) or Zicao Tang (Arnebia Decoction) mixed with wine is especially good; even in critical conditions approaching death, it can revive and restore redness. However, cases with closed eyes and absent spirit are incurable.
Another prescription: For male patients, use mother's fingernails; for female patients, use father's fingernails. Burn, grind, and take mixed with fine wine, which is particularly excellent.
