All the fu organs are affected by pathogenic factors. First, administer one qian of Sanhua Decoction (Three Transformations Decoction) to unblock the bowels two or three times, dispersing the internal stagnation so that clear qi ascends and fills the limbs. Next, administer Zhibao Dan (Precious Treasure Pill) added with Longgu (Fossilized Bones) and Nanxing (Arisaema Rhizome) to calm the mind, stabilize the will, and nourish the spirit, allowing the qi of each zang organ to ascend and unblock the nine orifices. After five days, voice emerges, and speech becomes slightly fluent. Thereafter, adjust the herbs according to the pulse and syndromes of the four seasons. Within ten days, the patient can walk with some effort. Initially, tie a rope around the affected leg; crossing thresholds or high places requires assistance. Additionally, prick the Jing-Well acupoints of the twelve meridians to connect the collaterals. The next day, without the rope, the patient can take a few steps. After one hundred days, most symptoms disappear. Advise caution: speak sparingly and regulate diet. Recovery takes one year.
[Liu Wansu] A monk slept on damp ground for a year due to rainy weather, resulting in paralysis of the limbs. The condition worsened during rainy periods. Physicians treated it as stroke with hemiplegia using Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh), and Zitong (Natural Pyrite). Long-term use exacerbated constipation and generated wind-dryness, with no improvement after a year. Dai Ren (Liu Wansu's courtesy name) used Zhouche Wan (Boat and Cart Pill) to purge more than thirty times, expelling five sheng of yellow-green frothy fluid. Subsequently, he used mild diuretic herbs to drain dampness. Within days, the limbs could be lifted. Dai Ren stated: This is Bi syndrome caused by the combination of wind, dampness, and cold. Dampness floats when combined with cold, accumulating in the skin and interstices. If not removed over time, it invades the fu organs internally. Water-expelling herbs are indicated. Dampness is a cold substance in the body. When cold is removed, blood circulates; when blood circulates, qi harmonizes; when qi harmonizes, the disease resolves.
[Popular Prescription] For stroke with severe constipation, burn non-decaying Gouqi (Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit) to ash, grind into fine powder. Take one qian per dose, mixed with rice water.

[Yunqi Lun] Slurred speech belongs to Wind. The Classic states: When Jueyin governs the year, excessive wind causes people to suffer from stiff tongue base, indicating wind excess. It also states: When Jueyin governs and dominates, difficulty speaking indicates wind deficiency.
[Lingshu] Huangdi asked: The Acupuncture Chapter mentions resolving confusion. You say understanding how to regulate Yin-Yang, tonify deficiency, and reduce excess resolves confusion. How is confusion resolved? Qibo replied: When great wind is in the body, blood vessels become unevenly deficient. Deficiency leads to insufficiency, excess leads to surplus. Balance is lost, leading to tilting, falling, disorientation regarding directions, and erratic movements, worse than mere confusion. Huangdi asked: How to treat? Qibo replied: Reduce excess, tonify deficiency, restore Yin-Yang balance. Needling thus resolves confusion faster than thought. Huangdi agreed. (Note: Understanding regulation involves examining pulses at hand, face, and foot. Excess pulses are reduced, deficient pulses are tonified. E.g., if Yang meridian pulse is excess and Yin is deficient, reduce Yang and tonify Yin.)
[Luo Tianyi] Moxibustion for Wind striking meridians causing facial deviation.
Tinghui (2 points) Jiache (2 points) Dicang (2 points)
If mouth corners deviate to the right, it indicates left meridian wind-stroke with flaccidity. Moxibustate the left Xianzhong (Depression) point, 14 moxa cones. If mouth corners deviate to the left, it indicates right meridian wind-stroke with flaccidity. Moxibustate the right Xianzhong point, 14 moxa cones. Cone size: barley grain.
Moxibustion for Wind striking Fu organs causing limb paralysis.
Baihui (1 point) Jianyu (2 points) Quchi (2 points) Zusanli (2 points) Jiexu (2 points) Fengshi (2 points)
If feeling numbness or pain in limbs that persists, this is a precursor to Fu organ strike. Moxibustate these points. Left-sided disease moxibustate right side; right-sided disease moxibustate left side.
Moxibustion for Wind striking Zang organs causing qi blockage, rising phlegm, mutism, critical condition. Fire application brings immediate effect.
Baihui (1 point) Fengchi (2 points) Dazhui (1 point) Jianjing (2 points) Quchi (2 points) Jianshi (2 points) Zusanli (2 points)
If feeling mental confusion, spiritual unrest, or limb numbness, this is a Zang organ strike sign. Regardless of wind or qi pathogen, quickly moxibustate these seven points for 5-7 cones. Re-moxibustate the next day. Stop based on age. (Moxibustate these seven points frequently in spring and autumn to vent wind).
Why do patients fear pain and refuse moxibustion during wind attack, only to die suddenly? Answer: Wind entering the Zang organs. Patients must know this. I suffered facial deviation in May; moxibustating Baihui and three points corrected it. Right limb numbness/weakness healed after moxibustating Baihui and seven points including Hairline. In July, qi blockage and rising phlegm caused mutism and sensation of falling. Moxibustating Baihui, Fengchi, and bilateral Jiache cleared qi, expelled half a bowl of phlegm, and caused diarrhea ten times. After lying in bed for half a month, I recovered. Since then, any slight abnormality in spirit/qi prompts immediate moxibustation of Baihui/Fengchi, yielding instant results.
[Fanzi Memoir] During Chongning era, two strokes occurred. Initially facial deviation, then phlegm blockage. Moxibustating twelve points bilaterally restored qi flow. Twelve points: Tinghui, Jiache, Dicang, Baihui, Jianyu, Quchi, Fengshi, Zusanli, Jiexu, Fachi, Dazhui, Fengchi. Following this method ensures efficacy.

Da Jie Jing uses all twelve Jing-Well points. Luo Qianfu cured Zhao Sangpan's Zang strike by needling twelve Jing-Well points. He cured Zhang Anfu's Zang strike by moxibustating twelve Jing-Well points. This matches the Neijing saying: "Retain thinness, do not change rhythm, needle accordingly."
[Nanjing) Yin Qiao vessel disease: Yang flaccid, Yin tense. Yang Qiao vessel disease: Yin flaccid, Yang tense.
[Luo Tianyi] Says: Treats aphonia/mutism (from Master Dou's Qi Yuan Gui Lei).
Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian: Tianding (Sudden aphonia, throat obstruction) Hegu (Aphonia, inability to speak) Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian: Yinxi (Aphonia, inability to speak) Lingdao (Sudden aphonia, mutism) Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian: Jiache Dicang (Mutism, drooling, right disease treat left, left disease treat right) Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian: Zhigou (Sudden aphonia, mutism) Sanyangluo (Sudden aphasia, inability to speak) Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian: Tianchuang (Sudden aphonia, inability to speak) Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian: Tonggu (Sudden aphonia, mutism) Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian: Jianshi (Aphonia, inability to speak)
[Yuji Wei Yi) Stroke mutism, unconsciousness: Dingmen (Moxa 7 cones) Baihui (Needle bean-width, tonify first then reduce, more reduce than tonify)
Essential Method: Zhongchong (1 fen, tonify) Dadun (Moxa, 1 fen) Baihui (1 fen, reduce)
[Guai Xue) Another method: Bleed tips of ten fingers (More detailed here)
[Yuji Wei Yi) Stroke aphonia: Yanmen (2 fen, retain 3 breaths, reduce, do not needle deep) Renzhong (3 fen, retain 3 inhales, reduce) Tiantu Yongquan (each 5 fen) Shenmen Zhigou (each 3 fen). If tongue tense/mutism, Yanmen (2 fen); if tongue flaccid/mutism, Fengfu (3 fen).
[Dongyang) Sudden stroke aphonia, inability to speak, flaccid paralysis. Needle Tianchuang 1 fen, moxibustate 50 cones. Extinguish fire, move to moxibustate Baihui 50 cones. Then moxibustate Tianchuang 50 cones again to start. If Baihui is moxibustated first, wind qi cannot vent, attacks five Zang internally, causing closure/stagnation and persistent aphonia. Hence, Tianchuang is moxibustated first.
