〔《千》〕治牙齿根欲动脱。生地细锉，绵裹着齿上咂之，日三四，并咽汁，效。
〔钱〕甘露饮子 治牙肿齿摇。（方见小儿痘肿咽痛。）
〔垣〕牢牙散 治牙根肉绽有根，牙疳肿痛，动摇欲落，牙齿不长，牙黄口臭，宜用之妙。夏月亦可。

黑，三夜三次用之，其黑如漆，妙甚妙甚。此方常用，屡验。
〔《竹》〕蒺藜散 治打动牙齿。
蒺藜根烧灰，贴动牙即牢。
〔《千》〕治牙龈宣露。每旦以盐水擦牙，后用热汤含漱百遍，不过五日，齿即牢密。
治齿龈宣露。蚯蚓粪水和为泥，烧令极赤，研如粉，腊月猪脂和敷上，日三敷，瘥。
〔《本》〕取蛀牙本分法。
硼砂（成块者） 朱砂（各一钱） 砂（二钱） 川乌（七个） 砒（二钱，色黄白有光星者，以上各为末）
蟾酥（七个） 附子尖（十四个。各为末）
上和匀，五月五日合者佳，点药于牙根上。良久，用手指揩下，次用后敷药。

上为末，揩牙落处，并用些子塞牙落孔子内。
此二方余见一道人货药取牙，一日常货三两贯，余浓赂始传得，妙。
〔世〕落牙方
用马肉十两，信、巴豆各等分，锉马肉片，以信、巴末拌匀，用石器盛，候出虫，焙干研末，于
牙疼处出些血，点上随落，妙。
〔《本》〕取牙落不犯手。
草乌 荜茇（各两半） 川椒 细辛（各三两）
上细末，每少许揩患处自落。
【李东垣】羌活散：治疗风寒湿邪侵犯头部引起的头痛，颈部筋脉拘急，牙齿松动，牙龈萎缩暴露且疼痛。
麻黄（去除根和节）三钱，白芷三钱，羌活根一钱半，防风根三钱，藁本、当归身各三分，细辛根、柴胡根、升麻、苍术各五分，羊胫骨灰二钱半，草豆蔻、桂枝各一钱。
将上述药物研成细末，先用温水漱口清洁患处，然后将药粉涂抹于患处，疼痛立即停止。
黄连散：治疗冬季寒冷时分，因风寒湿邪侵袭头部引起的头痛，颈部筋脉拘急，牙齿松动疼痛。
麻黄根、草豆蔻皮、龙胆草（酒洗）各二钱，生地黄二钱，羌活根二钱半，防风根二分，藁本三分，羊胫骨灰、当归身、熟地黄各六分，细辛根少许，升麻根、黄连各一钱。
将上述药物研成极细末，按照前述方法涂抹使用。
【《千金方》】治疗牙根即将松动脱落的方法：将生地黄细细切碎，用棉布包裹后含在牙齿上吸吮，每天三四次，并将汁液吞下，效果显著。
【钱乙】甘露饮子：治疗牙龈肿胀、牙齿松动。（方剂见小儿痘疹肿痛咽喉痛章节。）
【李东垣】牢牙散：治疗牙根肌肉绽开露出牙根，牙疳肿痛，牙齿动摇欲落，牙齿不长，牙齿发黄口臭，适宜使用此方，夏季也可使用。
升麻四两，羌活一两，羊胫骨灰二两，龙胆草一两半（酒洗）。
将上述药物研成极细末，用纱罗筛过使其细腻，与羊胫骨灰末混合均匀，临睡前擦拭牙齿，效果奇妙。
【罗天益】牢牙散：用于擦牙。
茯苓、石膏、龙骨各一两，寒水石、白芷各半两，细辛三钱，石燕（大的一个，小的两个）。
将上述药物研成细末，早晚刷牙时使用。
【李东垣】麝香散：治疗热多寒少，牙龈萎缩露出牙根，断裂出血，牙齿动摇欲落，剧烈疼痛妨碍进食。寒气少，热气多。
麻黄、当归身、熟地黄、生地黄、人参、酒浸防己各三分，升麻一钱，草豆蔻、黄连各一钱半，益智仁二分半，麝香少许，羊胫骨灰二钱。
将上述药物研成细末，按照前述方法涂抹使用。
【李东垣】还少丹：常服可坚固牙齿。（方剂见治疗虚实病症章节。）
【《本草》】治疗牙齿松动，胡须眉毛黄赤，服用一次，效果奇妙。
生姜半斤，生地黄一斤（分别洗净，研磨取自然汁，药渣保留备用）。
取不蛀的皂角十茎，刮去黑皮及筋络，用前两种药汁蘸湿皂角，用慢火炙烤至黄色，以药汁吸尽为度，并将前两种药渣一同放入瓷罐中，用火煅烧存性后研成细末。牙齿松动时，用药末揩擦牙龈。胡须发黄者，用银器盛装三钱药末，用汤水调匀，用药汁蘸须，临睡时使用，次日清晨已变黑，连续三晚三次使用，其色黑如漆，效果极佳。此方常用，屡试屡验。
【《竹》】蒺藜散：治疗牙齿动摇。
蒺藜根烧成灰，贴敷于松动的牙齿处即可稳固。
【《千金方》】治疗牙龈萎缩暴露：每天早晨用盐水擦牙，随后用热汤含漱一百遍，不超过五天，牙齿即变得牢固紧密。
治疗齿龈萎缩暴露：用蚯蚓粪和水调和成泥，烧至通红，研成粉末，腊月猪脂调和后敷在上面，每天敷三次，痊愈。
【《本草》】取出蛀牙的根本方法。
硼砂（成块的）、朱砂各一钱，砒霜二钱，川乌七个，砒（二钱，颜色黄白有光泽星点的，以上各研成末），蟾酥七个，附子尖十四个（各研成末）。
将上述药物混合均匀，五月五日制作更佳，将药点涂于牙根上。良久之后，用手指将其揩下，随后使用下面的敷药。
防风、荆芥各五文（此处疑为重量单位误植或特殊计量，原文如此），乳香十五文。
将上述药物研成末，揩擦牙齿脱落处，并用少量药末塞入牙齿脱落的孔洞内。
这两个方子是我见到一位道人卖药拔牙，一天能赚三两贯钱，我重金贿赂才得到传授，效果奇妙。
【世传】落牙方：
用马肉十两，信石、巴豆各等分，切碎马肉片，将信石、巴豆末拌匀，用石器盛放，等待生出虫子，焙干后研成末，在牙疼处挤出一点血，点上药粉，牙齿随即脱落，效果奇妙。
[Li Dongyuan] Qianghuo San (Notopterygium Decoction): Treats headache caused by Wind-Cold-Dampness invading the head, stiffness of neck tendons, loose teeth, and pain due to receding gums exposing the roots.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) [removed roots and nodes] 3 qian, Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi, 白芷) 3 qian, Notopterygii Radix et Rhizoma (Qianghuogen, 羌活根) 1.5 qian, Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfenggen, 防风根) 3 qian, Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix (Gben, 藁本) and Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Guishen, 当归身) each 0.3 qian, Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) root, Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu, 柴胡) root, Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻), Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu, 苍术) each 0.5 qian, Os Tibiae Ovile (Yangjingguhui, 羊胫骨灰) 2.5 qian, Cardamomi Fructus Rotundus (Caodoukou, 草豆蔻) and Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi, 桂枝) each 1 qian.
Pulverize the above ingredients finely. First rinse the mouth with warm water to clean the area, then apply the powder to the affected site; the pain will stop immediately.
Huanglian San (Coptis Decoction): Treats headache, neck tendon stiffness, and painful loose teeth caused by Wind-Cold-Dampness invasion during cold winter periods.
Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Mahuanggen, 麻黄根), Pericarpium Zanthoxyli (Caodoukoupí, 草豆蔻皮), Gentianae Radix et Rhizoma (Longdancao, 龙胆草) [washed with wine] each 2 qian, Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdi, 生地黄) 2 qian, Notopterygii Radix et Rhizoma (Qianghuogen, 羌活根) 2.5 qian, Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfenggen, 防风根) 0.2 qian, Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix (Gben, 藁本) 0.3 qian, Os Tibiae Ovile (Yangjingguhui, 羊胫骨灰), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Guishen, 当归身), and Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudi, 熟地黄) each 0.6 qian, Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) root a small amount, Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻) root and Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) each 1 qian.
Pulverize the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder and apply according to the previous method.
[Qianjin Fang] Treatment for teeth roots about to loosen and fall out: Finely chop fresh Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdi, 生地黄), wrap it in cotton cloth, place it against the teeth and suck, three to four times daily, swallowing the juice; effective.
[Qian Yi] Ganlu Yinzi (Sweet Dew Decoction): Treats swollen gums and loose teeth. (Formula see section on pediatric measles/rubella with swollen throat.)
[Li Dongyuan] Laoya San (Tooth-Stabilizing Powder): Treats exposed tooth roots due to gingival recession, periodontal abscesses with swelling and pain, loose teeth threatening to fall out, failure of teeth to grow, yellow teeth, and halitosis. It is suitable for use and can also be used in summer.
Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻) 4 liang, Notopterygii Radix et Rhizoma (Qianghuo, 羌活) 1 liang, Os Tibiae Ovile (Yangjingguhui, 羊胫骨灰) 2 liang, Gentianae Radix et Rhizoma (Longdancao, 龙胆草) 1.5 liang [washed with wine].
Pulverize the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder, sieve through gauze to ensure fineness, mix evenly with Os Tibiae Ovile powder, and rub onto teeth before bedtime; miraculous effect.
[Luo Tianyi] Laoya San (Tooth-Stabilizing Powder): For rubbing teeth.
Poria (Fuling, 茯苓), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao, 石膏), Long Gu (Dragon Bone) each 1 liang, Hanyuishi (Cold Water Stone), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi, 白芷) each 0.5 liang, Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) 3 qian, Yan Huosho (Swallow Stone) (one large, two small).
Pulverize the above ingredients finely and use for brushing teeth morning and evening.
[Li Dongyuan] Shexiang San (Musk Decoction): Treats conditions where heat predominates over cold, receding gums exposing roots, bleeding from broken roots, loose teeth threatening to fall out, severe pain interfering with eating. Cold is minor, heat is major.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Guishen, 当归身), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudi, 熟地黄), Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdi, 生地黄), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 人参), Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix (Fangji, 防己) soaked in wine each 0.3 qian, Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻) 1 qian, Cardamomi Fructus Rotundus (Caodoukou, 草豆蔻) and Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) each 1.5 qian, Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus (Yizhiren, 益智仁) 0.25 qian, Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) a small amount, Os Tibiae Ovile (Yangjingguhui, 羊胫骨灰) 2 qian.
Pulverize the above ingredients finely and apply according to the previous method.
[Li Dongyuan] Huanshao Dan (Return to Youth Pill): Regular consumption stabilizes teeth. (Formula see section on treating deficiency and excess syndromes.)
[Bencao] Treatment for loose teeth and yellow/red facial hair: One dose yields excellent results.
Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 生姜) half jin, Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdi, 生地黄) one jin (wash clean separately, grind to extract natural juice, reserve dregs).
Take ten stalks of non-boring Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus (Zaojiao, 皂角), scrape off black skin and fibers, dip the aforementioned juices onto the soap pods, roast slowly over low fire until yellow, until the juice is absorbed. Place both the juice-soaked pods and the reserved dregs into a porcelain jar, calcine using fire while preserving their nature, then pulverize. For loose teeth, rub the powder on the gums. For yellow facial hair, place three qian of powder in a silver container, mix with hot water, dip facial hair with the solution before sleep; by next morning it will be black. Use three times over three nights; the color becomes black as lacquer, very effective. This formula is commonly used and has proven reliable repeatedly.
[Zhu] Jili San (Tribulus Decoction): Treats loose teeth.
Burn Tribuli Fructus root (Jiligen, 蒺藜根) to ash and apply to loose teeth to stabilize them.
[Qianjin Fang] Treatment for receding gums: Every morning, brush teeth with salt water, then gargle with hot water one hundred times. Within five days, teeth will become firm and tight.
Treatment for receding gums: Mix earthworm feces with water to form mud, calcine until red-hot, pulverize into powder, mix with pig lard from the twelfth lunar month, and apply to the affected area. Apply three times daily until cured.
[Bencao] Fundamental method for extracting decayed teeth.
Borax (block form), Cinnabar (Zhusha, 朱砂) each 1 qian, Realgar (Pishuang, 砒 - note: historically arsenic compounds were used cautiously), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Chuanwu, 川乌) seven pieces, Arsenicum (Pi, 砒) 2 qian (yellow-white with shiny spots, all above pulverized individually), Toad Venom (Chansu, 蟾酥) seven pieces, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata tip (Fuzijian, 附子尖) fourteen pieces (all pulverized individually).
Mix evenly; best prepared on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Apply medicine to the tooth root. After some time, wipe away with fingers, then apply the following dressing.
Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng, 防风), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie, 荆芥) each 5 wen (unit likely error in original text, retained as is), Frankincense (Ruxiang, 乳香) 15 wen.
Pulverize the above and rub on the extracted tooth site, stuffing a small amount into the empty socket.
I saw these two formulas used by a Daoist priest selling tooth-extraction services, who earned three tael-guan per day. I bribed him heavily to obtain them; they are miraculous.
[Worldly Transmission] Tooth-Falling Formula:
Use ten taels of horse meat, equal parts of Realgar (Xinshi, 信石) and Crotonis Fructus (Badou, 巴豆). Slice the horse meat, mix with powdered Realgar and Crotonis Fructus, place in a stone vessel, wait for worms to emerge, dry by roasting, and pulverize. Squeeze a little blood from the painful tooth site, apply the powder, and the tooth will fall out immediately; miraculous.
[Bencao] Method for extracting teeth without touching them.
Aconiti Radix (Caowu, 草乌), Piperis Longi Fructus (Bibo, 荜茇) each 1.5 liang, Zanthoxyli Fructus (Chuanjiao, 川椒), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin, 细辛) each 3 liang.
Pulverize finely. Take a small amount each time to rub on the affected area; the tooth will fall out naturally.
