(Similar to Exterior Excess Yang Syndrome)
Severe headache. Heaviness and oppression in the four limbs. Rapid breathing with panting. Feverish body accompanied by irritability. Qi rebelling upward. Irregular nasal respiration. Four limbs are fatigued and weak, unable to support themselves. Weakness of Qi, lacking the energy to move or speak. Alternatively, restlessness, confusion, and mental agitation. Inner vexation and unease. Or unquenchable thirst. In prolonged illness, if pathogenic factors reside in the blood vessels with dampness, there is no thirst. If thirst occurs during the illness, it is due to Heart Fire flaring upward and overcoming Lung Metal, hence the thirst. Alternatively, exterior deficiency failing to withstand wind-cold. Eyes unwilling to open. Aversion to food. Loss of taste in the mouth. The Cun Kou pulse on the right hand is large, three times larger than the Ren Ying pulse on the left hand. The Cun Kou pulse is urgent, large, rapid, occasionally presenting a Dai (intermittent) pulse and Se (choppy) quality. Se is the native pulse of the Lung. Dai indicates insufficient Qi and lack of continuity in pulse qi; this is the pulse of Spleen and Stomach insufficiency. Large refers to Hong (surging). Surging and rapid indicates Heart pulse overcoming Lung. Urgent refers to Xian (wiry), indicating Liver Wood accompanying Heart Fire to overcome Lung Metal. The Pi (Spleen) pulse at the Right Guan position is uniquely large and rapid compared to the other five positions, with a Dai pulse occasionally appearing within the rapid rhythm. This is not due to severe overexertion, but rather irregular diet and improper regulation of cold and warmth. The Wei (Stomach) pulse at the Right Guan position is damaged and weak, faintly visible or invisible, while only the internal manifestation of the Pi (Spleen) pulse shows such characteristics. Treatment utilizes Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Supplement the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction).
Huangqi (Astragali Radix, half qian; one qian for severe cases) Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium)

Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, each two fen)
The above eight herbs are coarsely crushed, combined as one dose. Add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains. Strain off the dregs. Take warm. Administer after breakfast. Adjust dosages according to the severity of the condition.

Abdominal distension. Pain in the epigastrium corresponding to the heart region. Obstruction in the four limbs, hypochondrium, diaphragm, throat, and pharynx. Salivation or clear nasal discharge. Frequent urination. Pain in the soles of the feet, inability to bear weight and walk. Bone fatigue and weakness. Preference for sleep. Coldness in both testicles with dull pain. Hallucinations of ghostly appearances. Dreams of deceased persons. Pain throughout the waist, back, scapulae, eyes, loins, and spine. No thirst, no diarrhea. Pulse is large, vigorous, and choppy. This is named Han Zhong (Cold Center). Treatment utilizes Shen Sheng Fu Qi Tang (Divine Holy Decoction to Restore Qi), Baizhu Fuzi Tang (Atractylodes and Aconite Decoction), and Caodoukou Wan (Cardamom Pill).

Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex, five fen, soaked in wine) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, soaked in wine) Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix, six fen, washed with wine)
The above four herbs are pre-soaked in fresh water for one day. On the next day, add
Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, two fen) Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma, fine powder, three fen) Manjingzi (Viticis Semen, three fen)
These three herbs are pre-soaked in half a large zhan of fresh water, divided into two portions. These three herbs, along with Huangbai and the previous main herbs, constitute one large zhan of liquid. Do not strain. Add these soaked liquids.
Decoct again over fire until one large zhan remains. Strain off dregs. Take slightly warm. Take on an empty stomach. It is also effective for treating biting of cheeks, lips, tongue, and tongue base stiffness. Avoid meat soups and meat consumption to prevent aiding fire pathogens in the meridians. Generally, those with cold in the Kidney and Bladder meridians and insufficient Yuan Qi should take this. During the waxing and full moon phases, take every three to five days. If the condition is urgent, do not restrict timing.

The above ten herbs are coarsely crushed. Each dose uses five qian. Add one zhan of water and three slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Decoct until half a zhan remains. Take warm before meals. Adjust dosage according to deficiency or excess.
[Caodoukou Wan] Treats pain in the epigastrium corresponding to the heart.
