\r六气迁移加临之图(二)\ps127a27.bmp\r
\r四间气之图\ps127a28.bmp\r
少阴君火的正化方位在午(南方),对化方位在子(北方);
太阴湿土的正化方位在未(西南方),对化方位在丑(东北方);
少阳相火的正化方位在寅(东北方),对化方位在申(西南方);
阳明燥金的正化方位在酉(西方),对化方位在卯(东方);
太阳寒水的正化方位在戌(西北方),对化方位在辰(东南方);
司天之气的左边是四之气,右边是二之气;
司天左旁为四之气,右旁为二之气;
[Chart of the Timing for the Transition of the Six Qi]
Song on the Timing for the Transition of the Six Qi:
The Qi of Jueyin Wind Wood begins at the first pentad of the Dahan (Great Cold) solar term.
The Qi of Junfire Shaoyin is sought from the second pentad of the Chunfen (Spring Equinox).
The third pentad of Xiaoman (Grain Buds) marks Shaoyang Ministerial Fire.
The fourth transition of Taiyin Damp Earth occurs at Dashu (Great Heat).
The position of Yangming Dry Metal is fixed at the fifth pentad of Qiufen (Autumn Equinox).
Taiyang Cold Water concludes its cycle at the transition of Xiaoxue (Minor Snow).
[Chart of the Proper and Opposite Transformations of the Six Qi]
Shaoyin Junfire has its proper transformation at Wu (South), and opposite transformation at Zi (North);
Taiyin Damp Earth has its proper transformation at Wei (Southwest), and opposite transformation at Chou (Northeast);
Shaoyang Ministerial Fire has its proper transformation at Yin (Northeast), and opposite transformation at Shen (Southwest);
Yangming Dry Metal has its proper transformation at You (West), and opposite transformation at Mao (East);
Taiyang Cold Water has its proper transformation at Xu (Northwest), and opposite transformation at Chen (Southeast);
Jueyin Wind Wood has its proper transformation at Hai (Northwest), and opposite transformation at Si (Southeast).
The Song states:
Wu (Fire position), Yin (Fire generates), together with You (Metal position), Wei (Earth resides);
Xu (Water hides above Heaven's Gate), Hai (Wood generates) form the source of the square.
The twelve Earthly Branches are divided into halves; the rest are calculated according to the proper transformations.
[Charts on the Migration and Superimposition of the Six Qi (I & II)]
When the Guest Qi travels under the Mandate of Heaven, it is governed by the transformations of Cold, Heat, Dryness, Dampness, Wind, and Fire. One should only comply with these changes.
If the Guest Qi prevails, one follows; if the Host Qi prevails, one opposes. The victory or defeat between them is determined by their relative strength, without repetition, which differs from ordinary victories.
[Chart of the Four Intermittent Qi]
This discussion focuses on the Guest Qi.
Si Tian (Heavenly Ruler) occupies the Third Qi; Zai Quan (Earthly Ruler) occupies the Final Qi (Sixth Qi); the remaining positions constitute the Left and Right Intermittent Qi.
To the left of Si Tian is the Fourth Qi; to the right is the Second Qi.
To the left of Zai Quan is the First Qi; to the right is the Fifth Qi.
The Song states:
To deduce where the Four Intermittent Qi reside, use Si Tian and Zai Quan as standards.
Left of Si Tian is the Fourth Qi, parallel to the right Second Qi;
Left of Zai Quan is the First Qi, right Fifth Qi, lined beside Zai Quan.
In Wu and Zi years: The First Qi brings biting cold, frost, snow, and ice; the Second Qi brings wind and rain with active insects; the Third Qi brings baking heat.
The Fourth Qi brings continuous rain and running thunder/lightning; the Fifth Qi ends with dampness, wind, dryness, and cold.
In Wei and Chou years: The First Qi sees active insects; the Second Qi brings pestilence; the Third Qi involves thunder, rain, lightning, and hail.
The Fourth Qi is boiling hot; the Fifth Qi is cool and dry; the Sixth Qi achieves the effect of congealing cold during Great Cold.
In Shen and Yin years: The First Qi features hot wind and seasonal Qi; the Second Qi brings rain; the Third Qi brings disasters of excessive force.
The Fourth Qi brings early cold wind, fog, and dew; the Fifth Qi brings cold wind and rain; the Sixth Qi validates the work of insects.
In You and Mao years: The First Qi brings wind and rain; the Second Qi brings hot pestilence; the Third Qi brings cool wind; the Fourth Qi brings rain... Cool wind, rain, and insects in the Fifth Qi can cause this; hibernating insects emerging without ice corresponds to the Sixth Palace.
In Xu and Chen years: The First Qi brings pestilence, dampness, and coolness; the Second Qi connects cold, heat, ice, and hail; ...
The Fourth Qi brings wind, rain, and insects; the Fifth Qi brings damp-heat; the Sixth Qi is not empty of cold, snow, earth, and dampness.
In Hai and Si years: The First Qi brings misty obscurity; the Second Qi brings rain and heat; the Third Qi regarding hot wind, rain, and insects is the same.
Heavy rain and muggy damp-heat dominate the Fourth Qi; the Fifth and Sixth Qi bring rain until hibernating insects do not freeze.
These are all due to the Guest Qi operating the Heavenly Command from above, hence the different transformations. However, when the Balanced Qi arrives, it must correspond to its proper time; if there is excess or deficiency, the timing at the Qi transition will be advanced or delayed by thirteen days to respond.
