论曰眼生翳膜，或新或久，皆缘腑脏之间，风邪毒热，冲发于上，蕴结不散，其状非一
，是故障有内外，翳有浮沉，或浅或深，可治不治，龙木论载之详矣，世之俗工，往往以钩
割针镰熨烙之法，取快一时，曾不知此法不慎。反致盲瞽，盖翳膜之病，有可以钩割针镰熨
烙者，有专于服药者，有先服药及洗点，而后用钩割针镰熨烙者，诚能研究经旨，洞考六脉
，以知腑脏虚实，然后心谛目察，曰是可以服药，曰是可以点洗，曰是可以针镰钩割，则岂
有妄致损伤者乎，今姑摭其服饵之良，次以点洗之剂云。

之，仍于三里穴，灸二三七壮，三日后，有泪下为验，七日翳膜必退，每旦用新水漱口。

上七味，除龙脑铅丹蜜外，各捣碎，用井水二盏，及蜜铅丹，搅匀浸三日后，入银石器
内，文武火熬、及一半。绵滤去滓，入龙脑成膏，瓷合子内密封。掘地埋一宿，出火毒，不
拘时候点之。
治眼外障翳，水照丸方

鸡卵壳（一枚雏乌鸡始初生者须要完全去里面清并膜只用壳研如粉）
上六味，先将黄蜡熔成汁，次投诸药，用柳枝同搅成膏，候不见水银星可丸，即丸如豌
豆大，捏作饼子，以丹砂末为衣，仍置丹砂末内养之，每用一饼，临卧安在眼内。至天明开
眼，遗放水盏内，上有翳膜，再洗药，以丹砂末衣过养之，其水盏预置于头畔。
治内外障，及翳膜赤脉昏涩，洗眼方
桑条（二三月间采嫩者曝干净器内烧过令火自灭成白灰）
上一味细研，每用三钱匕，入瓷器，或银石器中，以沸汤泡，打转候澄，倾清者入别器
内、更澄，以新绵滤过，极清者置重汤内，令热，开眼淋洗，逐日一度，但是诸眼疾，不见
物者，大效。
治外障，退翳膜，疗风毒上攻，眼疼赤肿，或睑 痒烂，时多热泪昏涩大效，紫金膏
方
槐嫩枝芽三十条（当中春采嫩枝子亦得） 铅丹（细研飞过三钱匕） 黄连（紧实者七

金漆色，入瓷器内收之，每用少许、点眼、大妙。
治攀睛翳膜、昏涩，风毒肿痛，洗眼通光散方
上用栝篓一枚，割下顶盖，取瓤并子，同猪 子捣匀，却入在栝篓内，用元盖盖之，
坐净土上，取桑条子十两，约长四五寸，簇栝蒌上。用炭火烧，扇之烟尽，将成灰，即住扇
，冷和灰通研极细，每用二钱匕，沸汤浸，澄清去脚洗之。
治外障眼，及赤翳贯瞳仁攀睛等，惟翳浓者，见效尤速，海螵蛸丸方

上二味，同研匀细，熔好蜡和丸，如绿豆大，每用一丸，安在大 上，立奔障翳所，
如无翳，即在眼 不动，神效。
治风毒攻眼，成外障翳膜，青金丸方

上七味，将铜青与蕤仁，先研如糊，次入白丁香研，次入四味研极细，用好墨研浓汁，
于净器中，和熟为丸，如绿豆大，每用人乳汁化开，点眼，未用者，常以龙脑养于瓷器中。
治风毒眼，翳膜遮障，拨云散方

住，即再点，每昼夜可三五度。
治一切眼疾，翳膜遮障，兼能生发凉脑治头痛，摩顶膏方
莲子草 蓝青（各一握） 油（一升）
上三味，将二味细锉，内瓶中，以油浸之，纸封头四十九日，每夜卧时，令人以铁匙
点药，摩顶脑上四十九遍，至一百二十遍佳，此药须五月五日平旦时合。
治一切眼，退翳，黄金膏方

上二味等分，以酸浆水一升，慢火熬、令稀稠似乳，放冷点两 。
治眼生翳膜方
上采荠菜，和根茎叶，不拘多少，洗净焙干，碾为末细研，每夜卧时，先洗净眼了，
挑半米许，安两大 头，涩痛莫疑，翳膜不日自落。
治目翳方
上以芥子一粒轻手 入眼中候日出以井华水鸡子清洗之
治热毒眼晕，白翳复瞳仁，车前子丸方

龙脑 滑石 丹砂（通明者） 乌贼鱼骨（去甲）
上四味，各秤一钱研细，再同研匀，先用黄蜡皂子大两三块，于新白瓷盏内，慢火上熔
，用纱帛子滤过，在净盏内再熔了，将前药末共同拌和，捏作饼子，如半破豌豆大，用薄绢
或纱袋子盛了，以 砂半两，放在净碗内，上交横安竹片，放药在上面铺着，借 砂气熏，
用大棒一片，合碗口，勿令透气，掘一地坑，放药碗在坑内，用竹簟子一片盖了，然后以黄
土盖之，七日出净瓷瓶中收其 砂不用，如患浮翳膜侵瞳仁，及一切目疾，但临卧将一饼札
在眼 头，即睡至晓，用水一碗，向东觑水碗，其药自落在水中浮浴，却用绢帛子裹起，安
洁净处，临卧根据前再使，每饼可用半月，候药力慢时，方易一饼，如两目有疾，即用两饼。
治目生翳膜，点眼香连膏方
白沙蜜（五两绢滤去滓） 砂（五钱通明者研） 乳香（研一钱） 青盐（一钱研） 铅

治热风上冲头面，及因飧酒面炙爆等物，眼生膜者，明目防风丸方

肉昏暗等诸证，皆能除之，觉愈即止。
治目障翳， 肉昏暗，复明膏方
马牙硝（研一两半） 酸浆草（干者五两）
上二味，六月六日，入童子小便浸，于日中曝之，夜或阴雨，复之，睛即露之，小便耗
即旋添，至七月初，去酸浆草，只空曝小便令干收之，别以新盆盖药，埋净地，深可五寸以
来，至来年夏至前二日收之，其霜飞上盆子盖，以乌鸡毛扫取，患者以一米粒，安大 头，
避风。
治眼疾翳膜遮障，但瞳子不破者，杏仁膏方
杏仁（三升汤浸去皮尖双仁）
上一味，每一升以面裹，于 灰火中炮熟，去面，研杏仁压取油，又取铜绿一钱，与
杏油同研，以铜箸点眼，瘥。
论述说：眼睛生出翳膜，无论是新近发生还是病程长久，都是因为脏腑之间，风邪毒热之气，向上冲发，蕴积结聚而不消散。其症状表现不一，因此有内外之分，翳膜有浮沉之别，或浅或深，有的可治，有的难治，《龙木论》中记载得很详细。世俗的庸医，往往采用钩割、针镰、熨烙等手术方法，以求一时之快，却不知道这种方法如果不谨慎使用，反而会导致失明。大概来说，翳膜之病，有的可以用钩割针镰熨烙治疗，有的专门依靠服药治疗，有的先服药及洗眼点眼，然后再用钩割针镰熨烙。如果能深入研究医学经典宗旨，透彻考察六脉脉象，以了解脏腑的虚实状况，然后用心审慎观察，判断哪些情况适合服药，哪些适合点洗，哪些适合针镰钩割，那么怎么会有妄自造成损伤的情况呢？现在暂且选取其中疗效良好的内服药物，其次列出点洗用的药剂。
治疗内外障翳，不问发病年月远近，以及眼中一切疾病，磁石丸方：
磁石（用醋淬炼十遍） 肉苁蓉（酒浸后切细焙干，各三两） 牛膝（酒浸后切细焙干） 桂枝（去掉粗皮） 巴戟天（去掉心） 远志（去掉心） 干姜（炮制） 地骨皮（洗净） 附子（炮裂后去皮脐） 黄芪（锉碎） 覆盆子 防风（去掉叉状分枝） 柏子仁（单独研碎，各一两） 生干地黄（洗净切细焙干） 鹿茸（去毛，用酥油炙烤，各二两） 白茯苓（去掉黑皮，一两半）
以上十六味药，捣碎研成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，用盐汤或盐酒送下，空腹、中午、临近夜晚各服一次。
治疗内外障，眼生翳膜，芎䓖散方：
川芎 菊花 荆芥穗 石膏（各一两） 甘草（炙烤后锉碎，半两）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用二钱匕，饭后和临睡前用温水调服。
治疗眼障翳，密蒙花丸方：
密蒙花 黄柏根（洗净锉碎，各一两）
以上两味药，捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用十丸至十五丸，饭后和临睡前用熟水送下，或者煎饴糖汤送下。
治疗风毒热眼，翳膜侵遮，不论新旧，以及一切内外障眼病，八子丸方：
青葙子 决明子（炒） 葶苈子（炒） 车前子 五味子 枸杞子 地肤子 茺蔚子 麦门冬（去心焙干） 生干地黄（洗净焙干） 细辛（去苗叶） 桂枝（去粗皮） 赤茯苓（去黑皮） 泽泻 防风（去叉） 黄芩（去黑心，各一两）
以上十六味药，捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸至三十丸，用茶清送下，温米饮也可以，每日三次。
治疗内外障眼，退除翳膜，祛风毒，还睛汤方：
甘菊花 蔓荆子 蒺藜子（炒去角刺） 谷精草 牡蛎（烧制） 川芎 仙灵脾（淫羊藿） 生地黄（各半两） 蛇蜕（五条） 羌活（去芦头） 防风（去叉） 桑叶 蝉蜕（洗净） 地骨皮（洗净，各一两）
以上十四味药，粗捣过筛。每次服用二钱匕，用水一盏，竹叶两片，荆芥两穗，煎至七分，去渣，饭后和临睡前温服。
治疗内外障翳，精明汤方：
羚羊角（镑成薄片，二两） 当归（切细炒） 黄芩（去黑心） 栀子仁 淡竹叶 芍药 木贼 大黄（锉碎炒） 荆芥穗 石决明
以上十味药，粗捣过筛。每次服用四钱匕，苦竹叶十片，水一盏半，煎至七分，去渣温服，每日三次。
治疗内外障翳，一切眼疾，甘菊汤方：
甘菊花 大黄（锉碎炒） 旋复花 升麻 石决明 川芎（各半两） 羌活（去芦头） 地骨皮（洗净） 青葙子 车前子 石膏（捣碎） 木贼（锉碎炒） 黄芩（去黑心） 栀子仁 草决明（炒） 甘草（炙烤锉碎）
以上十九味药，粗捣过筛。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，少许蜂蜜，同煎至七分，饭后和夜卧时，去渣温服。
治疗眼目翳膜，遮障昏暗，退翳仙术散方：
苍术（米泔水浸泡一夜后切细焙干，二两） 蝉蜕（洗净） 谷精草（各一分） 蛇蜕（洗净焙干，一钱） 黄芩（去黑心，半两） 甘草（炙烤锉碎） 木贼（各一两）
以上七味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用一钱匕，空腹和临睡前用冷水调服。
治疗外障赤肉翳膜，遮障不明，炙肝散方：
石决明（洗净） 谷精草（洗净，各四两） 皂荚（炙烤去皮子，一分） 甘草（炙烤锉碎，二两） 木贼（锉碎） 黄芩（去黑心，各五两） 苍术（米泔水浸泡七日，切细焙干，半斤）
以上七味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次取猪肝一叶，去掉筋膜，切成几道缝隙，将药末五钱渗入缝内，再渗入盐一钱，合定后用湿柳枝三四条架起，用慢火烤香熟透。早晨空腹让患者吃尽，随后喝一盏冷饭压住药力。同时在足三里穴灸二三七壮，三天后有眼泪流出为有效迹象，七天翳膜必退。每天早晨用新水漱口。
治疗内外障眼，二明散方：
苍术（四两，米泔水浸泡七日，每日换水，切片，另研青盐一两同炒至黄色，去盐只用苍术） 木贼（二两，童子小便浸泡一天一夜，洗净焙干）
以上两味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用一钱匕，米饮调服。
治疗眼一切内外障，翳膜遮蔽，时常疼痛赤涩，地黄丸方：
熟干地黄（二两） 蜀椒（去目并闭口者，炒出汗，一两）
以上两味药，捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，饭后和临睡前，用新米泔水送下。
治疗一切翳障，点眼还睛膏方：
黄连（去须） 铅丹（水飞处理，各一两） 黄柏（去粗皮，半两） 桃仁（去皮尖双仁） 杏仁（去皮尖双仁，各七粒） 龙脑（研碎，半钱） 白沙蜜（四两）
以上七味药，除了龙脑、铅丹、蜂蜜外，其余各味捣碎，用井水二盏，以及蜂蜜、铅丹，搅匀浸泡三天后，放入银器或石器中，用文武火熬煮，至剩一半。用绵布过滤去渣，加入龙脑制成膏，装入瓷盒内密封。挖坑埋入地下过夜，以去除火毒。不拘时候点眼。
治疗眼外障翳，水照丸方：
黄蜡（片切，一两） 蛇蜕（烧灰研碎，一分） 铅丹（水飞研碎，一两） 水银（一分） 丹砂（研碎少许） 鸡卵壳（一枚，来自初生的乌雏鸡，必须完整，去掉里面蛋清和内膜，只用壳研成粉）
以上六味药，先将黄蜡熔化成汁，投入诸药，用柳枝同搅成膏。等到看不见水银星点可以制丸时，即制成如豌豆大的丸药，捏作饼子，以丹砂末为衣，仍置于丹砂末中养护。每次用一饼，临睡前放入眼内。至天明睁眼，将其遗放在水盏内，上面有翳膜，再清洗药饼，以丹砂末包裹养护。水盏预先放置在床头。
治疗内外障，及翳膜赤脉昏涩，洗眼方：
桑条（二三月间采摘嫩者，曝晒干净器皿内烧过令火自灭成白灰）
以上一味药，细研。每次用三钱匕，放入瓷器或银石器中，用沸汤冲泡，搅拌后等待澄清，倾倒清澈部分入别器内，再次澄清，用新棉过滤。极清澈的药液置于隔水加热容器中令其变热，开眼淋洗，每日一次。凡是各种眼疾，视物不清者，效果显著。
治疗外障，退翳膜，疗风毒上攻，眼疼赤肿，或眼睑痒烂，时常多热泪昏涩，大效，紫金膏方：
槐嫩枝芽三十条（仲春采摘嫩枝亦可） 铅丹（细研飞过，三钱匕） 黄连（紧实者，七条，每条长二寸半） 乌贼鱼骨（去甲研末，二钱匕） 轻粉（三钱匕） 乳香（明净者，秤一钱研细） 龙脑（少许） 白蜜（四两）
以上八味药，先将槐枝和黄连，用雪水或井华水一碗半，放入银器或石器中，慢火熬至半盏，去渣。次入乳香，又熬之。等到像茶脚许稠度时，将蜜另外熬制，去渣放冷，与前膏及众药末混合，搅匀再熬，呈金漆色，装入瓷器内收藏。每次用少许点眼，效果极佳。
治疗攀睛翳膜、昏涩，风毒肿痛，洗眼通光散方：
取栝楼一枚，割下顶盖，取瓤和子，同猪胆汁捣匀，却放回栝楼内，用原盖盖好。坐在净土上，取桑条子十两，约长四五寸，簇拥在栝楼上。用炭火烧，扇风直到烟尽，将成灰时停止扇风。冷却后将灰通体研极细。每次用二钱匕，沸汤浸泡，澄清去渣洗眼。
治疗外障眼，及赤翳贯瞳仁攀睛等，惟翳浓者，见效尤速，海螵蛸丸方：
海螵蛸（竹刀子刮下软者细研，水飞晒干，一两） 丹砂（细研水飞，一分）
以上两味药，同研匀细，熔化好蜡和丸，如绿豆大。每次用一丸，安在大眦（眼角）上，立刻奔向障翳所在处。如果没有翳，即在眼大眦不动，神效。
治疗风毒攻眼，成外障翳膜，青金丸方：
铜青（真品） 蕤仁（去皮尖与铜青同浸二宿，去水研） 生犀角（净水磨纸上飞过） 石决明（净水磨沥干，各一钱） 白丁香（水研飞过，去渣沥干） 海螵蛸（水飞） 龙脑（研，各半钱）
以上七味药，将铜青与蕤仁，先研如糊状，次入白丁香研，次入四味研极细，用好墨研浓汁，在净器中，和熟为丸，如绿豆大。每次用人乳汁化开，点眼。未用者，常以龙脑养护于瓷器中。
治疗风毒眼，翳膜遮障，拨云散方：
菊花 防风（去叉） 白蒺藜子（炒去角刺） 羌活（去芦头） 柴胡（去苗） 甘草（炙烤锉碎，各一两）
以上六味药为细散。每次服用二钱匕，水一盏，煎至六分，饭后和临睡前，连同药渣温服。
治疗眼生翳膜，疼痛昏涩，视物不明，葳蕤丸方：
葳蕤（玉竹） 车前子 熟干地黄（焙，各四两） 升麻 黄芩（去黑心） 秦艽（去苗土） 枳壳（去瓤麸炒） 栀子仁 白槟榔
以上十七味药，捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，熟水送下，饭后每日两次。
治疗翳膜遮障，目风泪出，点药神效膏方：
铅丹（二两） 蜜（半斤，以绢滤过） 砂（一豆大，大明净者） 青盐（一钱） 马牙硝（三钱） 白龙脑（一钱） 白矾（一豆大，烧过） 大猪胆（二枚，新好者）
以上八味药，并入瓷瓶内，和匀，用重汤于锅内煮，候紫色为度，兼不住手搅之。药成只于瓶内盛贮封角。每遇使用时，旋取些小，以井华水调，用铜箸子点，有泪下，以帛拭之。候泪住，即再点。每昼夜可三五度。
治疗一切眼疾，翳膜遮障，兼能生发凉脑治头痛，摩顶膏方：
莲子草 蓝青（各一握） 油（一升）
以上三味药，将二味细锉，内瓶中，以油浸之，纸封头四十九日。每夜卧时，令人以铁匙点药，摩顶脑上四十九遍，至一百二十遍佳。此药须五月五日平旦时合。
治疗一切眼，退翳，黄金膏方：
黄柏（去粗皮为末） 蛇蜕（为末）
以上两味药等分，以酸浆水一升，慢火熬，令稀稠似乳，放冷点两眦。
治疗眼生翳膜方：
上采荠菜，和根茎叶，不拘多少，洗净焙干，碾为末细研。每夜卧时，先洗净眼了，挑半米许，安两大眦头，涩痛莫疑，翳膜不日自落。
治目翳方：
上以芥子一粒轻手纳入眼中，候日出以井华水鸡子清洗之。
治热毒眼晕，白翳复瞳仁，车前子丸方：
车前子 决明子 黄连（去须） 蓝实（各二两一分） 黄芩（去黑心） 玄参 沙参 瞿麦穗 地骨皮 秦皮 蕤仁（去壳，各一两三分）
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，熟水送下，饭后，每日两次。
治疗眼生翳障，照水丸方：
龙脑 滑石 丹砂（通明者） 乌贼鱼骨（去甲）
以上四味药，各秤一钱研细，再同研匀。先用黄蜡皂子大两三块，于新白瓷盏内，慢火上熔，用纱帛子滤过，在净盏内再熔了，将前药末共同拌和，捏作饼子，如半破豌豆大，用薄绢或纱袋子盛了。以硇砂半两，放在净碗内，上交横安竹片，放药在上面铺着，借硇砂气熏。用大棒一片，合碗口，勿令透气。掘一地坑，放药碗在坑内，用竹簟子一片盖了，然后以黄土盖之。七日出净瓷瓶中收其硇砂不用。如患浮翳膜侵瞳仁，及一切目疾，但临卧将一饼扎在眼大眦头，即睡至晓，用水一碗，向东觑水碗，其药自落在水中浮浴。却用绢帛子裹起，安洁净处。临卧根据前再使。每饼可用半月，候药力慢时，方易一饼。如两目有疾，即用两饼。
治疗目生翳膜，点眼香连膏方：
白沙蜜（五两，绢滤去滓） 砂（五钱，通明者研） 乳香（研一钱） 青盐（一钱研） 铅丹（一钱） 黄连（去须三两，为细末。以上六味，除蜜外并用新汲水三大盏，于银石器内同煎至一大盏，后入蜜，更用慢火熬成膏，不住手搅，候引之如丝线，以重绵绞去滓，入瓷瓶内盛） 水银（半钱） 轻粉（一钱） 龙脑（一钱） 麝香（研一钱）
以上十味药，除前膏外，将后四味一处细研匀，入在药膏内，用油单封三五重，系定。如春夏秋合时，即以麻绳子，坠在井底一七日取出。若冬月合时，即于背阴处，封闭二七日出之。除打损眼外，并可治。
治热风上冲头面，及因飧酒面炙爆等物，眼生膜者，明目防风丸方：
防风（去叉） 决明子 枳壳（去瓤麸炒） 黄连（去须） 槐子 赤茯苓（去黑皮） 甘菊花（各一两半） 细辛（去苗叶） 黄芩（去黑心，各一两） 生干地黄（焙） 车前子（各二两半）
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛制成细末，用炼蜜调和做成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用十五丸，饭后米饮下，每日两次服。肉昏暗等诸证，皆能除之，觉愈即止。
治目障翳，息肉昏暗，复明膏方：
马牙硝（研一两半） 酸浆草（干者五两）
以上两味药，六月六日，入童子小便浸，于日中曝之，夜或阴雨，复之，睛即露之。小便耗即旋添，至七月初，去酸浆草，只空曝小便令干收之。别以新盆盖药，埋净地，深可五寸以来，至来年夏至前二日收之。其霜飞上盆子盖，以乌鸡毛扫取。患者以一米粒，安大眦头，避风。
治眼疾翳膜遮障，但瞳子不破者，杏仁膏方：
杏仁（三升，汤浸去皮尖双仁）
以上一味药，每一升以面裹，于灶灰火中炮熟，去面，研杏仁压取油。又取铜绿一钱，与杏油同研，以铜箸点眼，瘥。
Discourse states: The formation of nebulae (membranous opacities) in the eyes, whether recent or chronic, is caused by wind pathogens and toxic heat accumulating within the zang-fu organs, rushing upward, and condensing without dissipating. The manifestations vary; thus, there are internal and external distinctions, with nebulae being either superficial or deep, treatable or untreatable. These details are recorded in detail in the *Longmu Lun* (Treatise on Dragon Wood). Vulgar practitioners of the world often employ methods such as hooking, cutting, needling, scissoring, moxibustion heating, and cauterization to seek temporary relief, unaware that if these methods are not used cautiously, they may lead to blindness. Generally speaking, diseases of eye nebulae can be treated by hooking, cutting, needling, scissoring, heating, and cauterization; some require medication alone; others require prior medication and washing/dropping, followed by surgical intervention. If one can thoroughly study the principles of medical classics, penetrate the examination of the six pulses, and understand the deficiency and excess of the zang-fu organs, then carefully observe and judge which cases are suitable for medication, which for dropping/washing, and which for surgical intervention, how could there be reckless injuries? Now, we briefly select the effective internal medications, followed by the agents for washing and dropping.
**Cishi Wan (Magnetite Pill)**
For treating internal and external obstruction nebulae, regardless of the duration since onset, and all eye diseases.
Ingredients: Cishi (Magnetite, calcined ten times in vinegar), Rongshurou (Cistanche Stem, soaked in wine, sliced, and dried), Niuxi (Achyranthes Root, soaked in wine, sliced, and dried), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, bark removed), Bajitian (Morinda Root, heart removed), Yuanzhi (Polygala Root, heart removed), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, processed), Digupi (Lycium Bark, washed), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, cracked, skin and umbilicus removed), Huangqi (Astragalus Root, crushed), Fupenzi (Raspberry), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, forked parts removed), Baiziren (Biota Seed, separately ground, each 1 liang), Shengdihuang (Fresh Rehmannia Root, washed, sliced, and dried), Lurong (Deer Antler, hair removed, roasted in lard, each 2 liang), Baifuling (Poria, black skin removed, 1.5 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above sixteen ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 20 pills per dose, administered with salt water or salted wine, on an empty stomach, at noon, and near nightfall.
**Xiong San (Ligusticum Powder)**
For treating internal and external obstructions and eye nebulae.
Ingredients: Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Juhua (Chrysanthemum Flower), Jingjiesui (Schizonepeta Spike), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, each 1 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, roasted and crushed, 0.5 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above five ingredients into a fine powder. Take 2 qianbi per dose, mixed with warm water after meals and before bedtime.
**Mimenghua Wan (Buddleja Flower Pill)**
For treating eye obstructions and nebulae.
Ingredients: Mimenghua (Buddleja Flower), Huangbai Gen (Phellodendron Bark, washed and crushed, each 1 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above two ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 10-15 pills per dose after meals and before bedtime, with cooked water, or decocted maltose syrup.
**Bazi Wan (Eight Seeds Pill)**
For treating wind-toxic heat eyes, nebulae invasion, regardless of newness or oldness, and all internal/external obstruction eye diseases.
Ingredients: Qingxiangzi (Celosia Seed), Juemingzi (Cassia Seed, fried), Tinglizi (Descurainia Seed, fried), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), Gouqizi (Goji Berry), Difuzi (Kochia Seed), Chongweizi (Leonurus Seed), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber, heart removed and dried), Shengdihuang (Fresh Rehmannia Root, washed and dried), Xixin (Asarum, herbs and roots removed), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, bark removed), Chifuling (Red Poria, black skin removed), Zexie (Alisma Rhizome), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, forked parts removed), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed, each 1 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above sixteen ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 20-30 pills per dose with clear tea water, or warm rice drink, three times daily.
**Huanjing Tang (Restore Vision Decoction)**
For treating internal/external obstruction eyes, retreating nebulae, removing wind toxicity, and restoring vision.
Ingredients: Ganjuhua (Sweet Chrysanthemum Flower), Manjingzi (Vitex Fruit), Jili Zi (Tribulus Fruit, fried and de-spined), Gujingcao (Eyebright Herb), Muli (Oyster Shell, calcined), Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Xianlinpi (Epimedium Leaf), Shengdihuang (Fresh Rehmannia Root, each 0.5 liang), Shetui (Snake Slough, 5 strips), Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome, rhizome head removed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, forked parts removed), Sangye (Mulberry Leaf), Chantui (Cicada Slough, washed), Digupi (Lycium Bark, washed, each 1 liang).
Instructions: Coarsely crush and sieve the above fourteen ingredients. Take 2 qianbi per dose, with one cup of water, two bamboo leaves, and two spikes of Schizonepeta. Decoct to 70% volume, remove dregs, and take warm after meals and before bedtime.
**Jingming Tang (Bright Eye Decoction)**
For treating internal/external obstruction nebulae.
Ingredients: Lingyangjiao (Antelope Horn, shaved, 2 liang), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root, sliced and fried), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed), Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed), Danzhuye (Light Bamboo Leaf), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Muze (Equisetum Stem), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root, crushed and fried), Jingjiesui (Schizonepeta Spike), Shijueming (Abalone Shell).
Instructions: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ten ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, with ten bitter bamboo leaves and 1.5 cups of water. Decoct to 70% volume, remove dregs, and take warm, three times daily.
**Ganju Tang (Sweet Chrysanthemum Decoction)**
For treating internal/external obstruction nebulae and all eye diseases.
Ingredients: Ganjuhua (Sweet Chrysanthemum Flower), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root, crushed and fried), Xuanfuhua (Inula Flower), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome), Shijueming (Abalone Shell), Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome, each 0.5 liang), Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome, rhizome head removed), Digupi (Lycium Bark, washed), Qingxiangzi (Celosia Seed), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, crushed), Muze (Equisetum Stem, crushed and fried), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed), Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed), Caojueming (Cassia Seed, fried), Gancao (Licorice Root, roasted and crushed).
Instructions: Coarsely crush and sieve the above nineteen ingredients. Take 3 qianbi per dose, with one cup of water and a little honey. Decoct to 70% volume, remove dregs, and take warm after meals and before bedtime.
**Tuibi Xianshu San (Retreat Nebula Immortally Effective Powder)**
For treating eye nebulae causing obstruction and dimness, and retreating nebulae.
Ingredients: Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome, soaked in rice wash overnight, sliced and dried, 2 liang), Chantui (Cicada Slough, washed), Gujingcao (Eyebright Herb, each 1 fen), Shetui (Snake Slough, washed and dried, 1 qian), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed, 0.5 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, roasted and crushed), Muze (Equisetum Stem, each 1 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above seven ingredients into powder. Take 1 qianbi per dose, mixed with cold water on an empty stomach and before bedtime.
**Zhi Gan San (Roasted Liver Powder)**
For treating external obstruction red flesh nebulae causing unclear vision.
Ingredients: Shijueming (Abalone Shell, washed), Gujingcao (Eyebright Herb, washed, each 4 liang), Zaojia (Tamarind Fruit, roasted, skin and seeds removed, 1 fen), Gancao (Licorice Root, roasted and crushed, 2 liang), Muze (Equisetum Stem, crushed), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed, each 5 liang), Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome, soaked in rice wash for seven days, sliced and dried, 0.5 jin).
Instructions: Grind the above seven ingredients into powder. Take one leaf of pig liver, remove fascia, cut several slits, and insert 5 qian of powder into the slits, along with 1 qian of salt. Seal it. Roast slowly over wet willow branches until fragrant and cooked. Eat completely on an empty stomach in the morning, followed by a cup of cold rice to settle the medicine. Moxa 2-7 Zhu (moxa cones) on Zusanli (ST36). Tears flowing after three days indicate efficacy; nebulae should recede within seven days. Rinse mouth with fresh water every morning.
**Er Ming San (Two Brightnesses Powder)**
For treating internal/external obstruction eyes.
Ingredients: Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome, 4 liang, soaked in rice wash for seven days, changing daily, sliced, stir-fried with 1 liang of Qingyan (Green Salt) until yellow, discard salt, use only Cangzhu), Muze (Equisetum Stem, 2 liang, soaked in child's urine for one day and night, washed and dried).
Instructions: Grind the above two ingredients into powder. Take 1 qianbi per dose, mixed with rice drink.
**Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill)**
For treating all internal/external obstructions, nebulae covering, frequent pain, redness, and dryness.
Ingredients: Shugan Dihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, 2 liang), Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, remove eyes and closed ones, fry until sweat appears, 1 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above two ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 20 pills per dose after meals and before bedtime, with new rice wash water.
**Dian Yan Huanjing Gao (Eye-Drop Vision-Restoring Ointment)**
For treating all nebulae and obstructions.
Ingredients: Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, remove threads), Qiandan (Lead Oxide, water-flown, each 1 liang), Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark, remove rough skin, 0.5 liang), Taoren (Peach Kernel, remove skin and pointed ends, double kernels), Xingren (Apricot Kernel, remove skin and pointed ends, double kernels, each 7 grains), Longnao (Borneol, ground, 0.5 qian), Baishami (White Honey, 4 liang).
Instructions: Crush all ingredients except Borneol, Lead Oxide, and Honey. Soak in 2 cups of well water with Honey and Lead Oxide for three days. Boil in silver or ceramic vessel over mild fire until half remains. Filter through cotton cloth, add Borneol to form ointment, seal in porcelain jar. Bury underground overnight to remove fire toxicity. Use to drop eyes at any time.
**Shui Zhao Wan (Water Reflection Pill)**
For treating external obstruction nebulae.
Ingredients: Huangla (Yellow Beeswax, sliced, 1 liang), Shetui (Snake Slough, burned to ash and ground, 1 fen), Qiandan (Lead Oxide, water-flown and ground, 1 liang), Shuiyin (Mercury, 1 fen), Dansha (Cinnabar, ground slightly), Jluan Ke (Chicken Eggshell, from a newly hatched black chick, must be intact, remove albumen and membrane, grind shell to powder, 1 piece).
Instructions: Melt Yellow Beeswax first, then add other ingredients. Stir with a willow branch until paste-like. When mercury stars disappear, form pills like pea sizes, press into cakes, coat with Cinnabar powder, and store in Cinnabar powder. Place one cake inside the eye before sleep. Remove at dawn, place in water bowl; nebulae will float on top. Wash the cake, re-coat with Cinnabar powder, and store. Keep the water bowl near the pillow. Repeat daily.
**Xi Yan Fang (Eye-Washing Formula)**
For treating internal/external obstructions, nebulae, red veins, dimness, and dryness.
Ingredients: Sangtiao (Mulberry Twig, pick tender twigs in Feb-Mar, dry, burn in clean vessel until self-extinguished to white ash).
Instructions: Grind finely. Take 3 qianbi, put in porcelain or silver vessel, pour boiling water, stir, let settle. Pour clear liquid into another vessel, filter again with new cotton. Heat the extremely clear liquid in a double boiler. Open eyes and wash with it once daily. Highly effective for various eye diseases causing blindness.
**Zijin Gao (Purple Gold Ointment)**
For treating external obstruction, retreating nebulae, curing wind-toxic attack, eye pain, redness, swelling, lid itching/ulceration, excessive hot tears, and dimness.
Ingredients: Huai Nenzhiya (Locust Tender Branches/Buds, 30 strips, pick in mid-spring), Qiandan (Lead Oxide, finely ground and flown, 3 qianbi), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, tight and solid, 7 strips, each 2.5 cun), Ouzeiyu Gu (Cuttlefish Bone, remove shell, grind to powder, 2 qianbi), Qingfen (Calomel, 3 qianbi), Ruxiang (Frankincense, pure, weighed 1 qian, ground fine), Longnao (Borneol, small amount), Baimi (White Honey, 4 liang).
Instructions: Boil Locust branches and Coptis in 1.5 cups of snow water or well water in silver/ceramic vessel over mild fire until 0.5 cup remains. Remove dregs. Add Frankincense, boil again until consistency resembles tea dregs. Separately boil Honey, remove dregs, cool. Mix with previous paste and powders, boil again until golden lacquer color. Store in porcelain. Drop small amount into eyes. Very effective.
**Tongguang San (Clear Light Powder)**
For treating pterygium nebulae, dimness, wind-toxic swelling/pain, washing eyes to restore clarity.
Instructions: Take one Trichosanthes fruit, cut off top, extract pulp and seeds. Mix with pig bile until uniform. Return to fruit, cover with original top. Sit on clean earth. Surround fruit with 10 liang of mulberry twigs (4-5 cun long). Burn with charcoal, fan until smoke disappears and turns to ash. Stop fanning. Cool and grind ash extremely fine. Take 2 qianbi, soak in boiling water, clarify, remove sediment, and wash eyes.
**Haipiaoxiao Wan (Cuttlefish Bone Pill)**
For treating external obstruction eyes, red nebulae penetrating pupil, pterygium, etc. Most effective for thick nebulae.
Ingredients: Haipiaoxiao (Cuttlefish Bone, scrape soft part with bamboo knife, grind fine, water-fly, sun-dry, 1 liang), Dansha (Cinnabar, finely ground and water-flown, 1 fen).
Instructions: Grind together uniformly. Mix with melted wax to form pills the size of mung beans. Place one pill in the outer canthus (eye corner); it will immediately move toward the nebula. If no nebula, it stays still. Divine effect.
**Qingjin Wan (Blue Gold Pill)**
For treating wind-toxic attack on eyes forming external obstruction nebulae.
Ingredients: Tongqing (Verdigris, authentic), Ruiren (Buckthorn Kernel, remove skin/pointed ends, soak with Verdigris for two nights, drain water and grind), Shengxijiao (Fresh Rhinoceros Horn, grind in clean water, fly on paper), Shijueming (Abalone Shell, grind in clean water, drain dry, each 1 qian), Baixiangding (Stolephorus Fish Excrement, water-grind, fly, drain dry), Haipiaoxiao (Cuttlefish Bone, water-fly), Longnao (Borneol, ground, each 0.5 qian).
Instructions: Grind Verdigris and Buckthorn Kernel into paste. Add Stolephorus Fish Excrement and grind. Add remaining four ingredients and grind extremely fine. Mix with strong ink juice in a clean vessel. Form pills the size of mung beans. Dissolve in human breast milk to drop into eyes. Store unused pills with Borneol in porcelain.
**Boyun San (Parting Clouds Powder)**
For treating wind-toxic eyes, nebulae obstruction.
Ingredients: Juhua (Chrysanthemum Flower), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, forked parts removed), Baijili Zi (Tribulus Fruit, fried and de-spined), Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome, rhizome head removed), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root, herbs removed), Gancao (Licorice Root, roasted and crushed, each 1 liang).
Instructions: Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qianbi per dose, with one cup of water. Decoct to 60% volume. Take warm with dregs after meals and before bedtime.
**Weirui Wan (Polygonatum Pill)**
For treating eye nebulae, pain, dimness, unclear vision.
Ingredients: Weirui (Polygonatum Rhizome), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed), Shugan Dihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, dried, each 4 liang), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed), Qinjiao (Gentiana Macrophylla Root, herbs and soil removed), Zhike (Bitter Orange Fruit, remove pulp, bran-fried), Zhizi Ren (Gardenia Seed), Bai Binglang (Areca Seed).
Instructions: Grind the above seventeen ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 30 pills per dose with cooked water, twice daily after meals.
**Dian Yao Shenxiao Gao (Divine Effect Eye-Drop Ointment)**
For treating nebulae obstruction, wind-tearing eyes.
Ingredients: Qiandan (Lead Oxide, 2 liang), Mi (Honey, half jin, filtered through silk), Sha (Salt, size of one bean, bright and pure), Qingyan (Green Salt, 1 qian), Mayaxiao (Mirabilite, 3 qian), Bailongnao (White Borneol, 1 qian), Baifan (Alum, size of one bean, calcined), Da Zhudan (Large Pig Gallbladder, 2 fresh good ones).
Instructions: Mix all eight ingredients in a porcelain bottle. Simmer in a double boiler until purple. Stir constantly. Store sealed in bottle. To use, take a small amount, mix with well water, drop using copper chopsticks. Wipe tears with cloth when tearing occurs. Wait for tears to stop, then drop again. 3-5 times daily.
**Motop Gao (Scalp-Massage Ointment)**
For treating all eye diseases, nebulae obstruction, promoting hair growth, cooling brain, treating headache.
Ingredients: Lianzicao (Priver Weed), Lanqing (Indigo Naturalis, each one handful), You (Oil, 1 sheng).
Instructions: Finely chop the herbs, put in bottle, soak in oil. Seal with paper for 49 days. Every night before sleep, use iron spoon to apply medicine and massage scalp 49-120 times. Prepare on May 5th at dawn.
**Huangjin Gao (Golden Ointment)**
For treating all eyes, retreating nebulae.
Ingredients: Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark, grind to powder), Shetui (Snake Slough, grind to powder).
Instructions: Equal parts. Decoct in 1 sheng of sour rice water over mild fire until consistency resembles milk. Cool and drop into both eyes.
**Zhi Yan Sheng Yi Mo Fang (Formula for Treating Eye Nebulae)**
Instructions: Pick Shepherd's Purse (Qicai), including roots, stems, and leaves. Wash, dry, and grind to fine powder. Before sleep, wash eyes, take half a grain of powder, place in both outer canthi. Do not worry about astringency/pain; nebulae will fall off naturally in a few days.
**Zhi Mu Yi Fang (Formula for Treating Eye Nebulae)**
Instructions: Place one mustard seed gently into the eye. After sunrise, wash with well water and egg white.
**Cheqianzi Wan (Plantago Seed Pill)**
For treating heat-toxic eye dizziness, white nebulae covering pupil.
Ingredients: Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed), Juemingzi (Cassia Seed), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, remove threads), Lanshi (Isatis Fruit, each 2.1 liang), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed), Xuanshen (Scrophularia Root), Shashen (Glehnia Root), Qumai Sui (Dianthus Spike), Digupi (Lycium Bark), Qinpi (Ash Bark), Ruiren (Buckthorn Kernel, remove shell, each 1.3 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above eleven ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 30 pills per dose with cooked water after meals, twice daily.
**Zhao Shui Wan (Water Reflection Pill)**
For treating eye nebulae and obstructions.
Ingredients: Longnao (Borneol), Huashi (Talcum), Dansha (Cinnabar, transparent), Ouzeiyu Gu (Cuttlefish Bone, remove shell).
Instructions: Weigh 1 qian of each, grind fine, mix uniformly. Melt 2-3 pieces of yellow beeswax (size of soap nut) in a clean white porcelain cup over mild fire. Filter through gauze, remelt in clean cup. Mix with powder, form cakes the size of half-peas. Wrap in thin silk/gauze bag. Place 0.5 liang of Naoshan (Ammonium Chloride) in a clean bowl. Place a bamboo strip across the bowl, put the herb bag on top. Cover bowl with a large stick to prevent air leakage. Bury in a pit, cover with bamboo mat, then yellow soil. After seven days, retrieve, remove Naoshan, store in clean porcelain. For floating nebulae invading pupil or all eye diseases: Tie one cake to the outer canthus before sleep. Sleep until dawn. Look east at a bowl of water; the medicine will fall into the water and float. Wrap in gauze, store cleanly. Reuse before sleep. One cake lasts half a month. Replace when potency fades. Use two cakes for both eyes.
**Xianglian Gao (Fragrant Coptis Ointment)**
For treating eye nebulae.
Ingredients: Baishami (White Honey, 5 liang, filtered), Sha (Salt, 5 qian, transparent and ground), Ruxiang (Frankincense, ground, 1 qian), Qingyan (Green Salt, ground, 1 qian), Qiandan (Lead Oxide, 1 qian), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, remove threads, 3 liang, fine powder). [Note: First make base paste: Mix first six ingredients (except honey) with 3 large cups of fresh well water in silver/ceramic vessel. Decoct to 1 large cup. Add honey, simmer over mild fire until stringy consistency. Strain through heavy cotton, store in porcelain.] Then add: Shuiyin (Mercury, 0.5 qian), Qingfen (Calomel, 1 qian), Longnao (Borneol, 1 qian), Shexiang (Musk, ground, 1 qian).
Instructions: Grind the last four ingredients finely, mix into the base paste. Seal with oil paper 3-5 layers. In Spring/Summer/Autumn, hang in well bottom for 7 days. In Winter, seal in shady place for 14 days. Treats all eye diseases except traumatic injury.
**Mingmu Fangfeng Wan (Bright-Eye Saposhnikovia Pill)**
For treating wind-heat rushing to head/face, eye membrane formation due to alcohol, noodles, roasted/fried foods.
Ingredients: Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, forked parts removed), Juemingzi (Cassia Seed), Zhike (Bitter Orange Fruit, remove pulp, bran-fried), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, remove threads), Huaizi (Sophora Seed), Chifuling (Red Poria, black skin removed), Ganjuhua (Sweet Chrysanthemum Flower, each 1.5 liang), Xixin (Asarum, herbs and roots removed), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, black heart removed, each 1 liang), Shengdihuang (Fresh Rehmannia Root, dried), Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed, each 2.5 liang).
Instructions: Grind the above eleven ingredients into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 15 pills per dose with rice drink after meals, twice daily. Eliminates meat-darkening and other symptoms. Stop when cured.
**Fuming Gao (Restoring Brightness Ointment)**
For treating eye obstruction nebulae, polyps, dimness.
Ingredients: Mayaxiao (Mirabilite, ground, 1.5 liang), Suanjiangcao (Sorrel Herb, dried, 5 liang).
Instructions: On June 6th, soak in child's urine. Sun-dry during day. Cover at night or rainy days. Expose to sky when sunny. Refill urine as it evaporates. By early July, remove Sorrel, continue drying urine until dry. Store. Cover with new basin, bury in clean earth 5 cun deep. Retrieve two days before next Summer Solstice. Sweep frost from basin lid with black chicken feather. Patient places one grain-sized amount in outer canthus, avoid wind.
**Xingren Gao (Apricot Kernel Ointment)**
For treating eye nebulae obstruction, provided pupil is intact.
Ingredients: Xingren (Apricot Kernel, 3 sheng, soaked in hot water, remove skin/pointed ends, double kernels).
Instructions: Wrap each sheng in dough, roast in stove ash until cooked. Remove dough, grind kernels, press to extract oil. Mix 1 qian of Tonglu (Verdigris) with Apricot Oil. Apply with copper chopstick. Cured.
