Tianluo Pao (River Snail Blister) mostly occurs on the hands and feet. It suddenly feels as if burning with fire, followed by the appearance of purple, white, or yellow blisters. This is caused by wind-dampness attacking and flooding the Spleen Meridian. The blisters will gradually enlarge in a short time, causing distending pain and discomfort. They should be punctured with a thread needle to drain the toxic fluid, and covered with Taiyi Gao (Great Sage Ointment). If they recur after being punctured, internal administration of Jiedu Xiapi Tang (Detoxification and Spleen-Draining Decoction) can cure it.
Jiedu Xiapi Tang (Detoxification and Spleen-Draining Decoction)
Jiedu Xiapi Tang consists of Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Shan Zhi (Gardeniae Fructus), Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), etc. Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis) and Deng Xin Cao (Junci Medulla) are highly effective.
Ingredients: Fang Feng, Niu Bang Zi, Shan Zhi, Shi Gao, Huang Qin, Cang Zhu, Gan Cao, Mu Tong (each 1 qian).
Use two zhong of water and twenty roots of Deng Xin Cao (Junci Medulla). Decoct until one-eighth remains. Take according to the condition, either before or after meals.
Taiyi Gao (Great Sage Ointment) (See Swelling and Ulcer Section)
Chansu Tiao (Toad Venom Strip) (See Ding Chuang Section)
Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) (See Swelling and Ulcer Section)
Cun Tong (Skin Fissure Pain) all originates on the hands and feet. It arises from wind-cold qi stagnating in the skin and hair follicles, causing blood to fail to nourish the muscle surface. As the saying goes, "when the skin is dry and withered, there is much pain," presenting a state similar to having no skin, which gives rise to Cun Tong. Soak and wash the affected area thoroughly in Cong Tang (Green Onion Decoction), then apply Runji Gao (Moisturizing Muscle Ointment). Keep warm and avoid wind and cold; it will heal spontaneously. Furthermore, for those who suffer recurrences every winter, grind garlic that has been sun-dried during the Sanfu (Dog Days) period, and apply it intermittently three times. It will not recur thereafter. This illustrates the principle of "treating cold with heat," which is quite clear.
Yinshi (Pubic Louse), also known as Bajiao Chong (Eight-Legged Bug), is formed from turbid qi of the Liver and Kidney meridians. Having this condition is considered inauspicious. Apply Yinxi San (Ginkgo Powder) mixed with saliva to the affected area. Internally, take Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill). For every jin (500g) of the pill, add one liang of Huang Bai (Phellodendri Cortex) stir-fried with honey and five qian of Lvhui (Aloe). This clears the source of transformation, ensuring no recurrence after cure.
Yinxing Wuyou San (Ginkgo Without-Worry Powder)
Yinxing Wuyou Powder contains Shexiang (Moschus), Shuiyin (Mercurius), Qingfen (Calomelas), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), Xionghuang (Realgar), Yelangdu (Dichroa Radix), and Lvhui (Aloe). Why would one not smile after just one application?
Ingredients: Shuiyin (prepared with lead), Xingren (skin removed, pounded into paste), Qingfen, Xionghuang, Yelangdu, Lvhui (each 1 qian), Shexiang (1 fen).
Except for Shuiyin and Xingren paste, grind the remaining herbs finely and sift. Add the aforementioned two ingredients and grind uniformly. First, wash the area with Tu Changpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma) decoction. Use a needle to pick out the louse eggs/holes, then apply the powder mixed with saliva to allow the medicinal qi to penetrate. It will heal and not grow again. Strictly avoid consuming beef, dog meat, and softshell turtle meat.
