Zhang Zhongjing stated: There is a case of a woman suffering from "yin chui" (vaginal flatulence), characterized by noisy pulsating sounds emanating from the vaginal orifice. This is caused by the downward leakage of stomach qi and the accumulation of grain qi. Treatment involves using Zhu Gao Fa Jian (Pig Fat and Hair Decoction) to guide the pathogen out. Take half a jin (approx. 500g) of pig fat and three pieces of tangled hair, each the size of a chicken egg, and decoct them together until the hair dissolves and the medicine is prepared. Divide into two doses; the pathogen will be expelled through urination.
Wei Furen's *Guai Bing Fang* (Strange Disease Formulas) records: A postpartum woman, due to excessive exertion, had a fleshy cord protruding from the vagina, measuring three to four chi in length. Touching it caused severe pain radiating to the heart and abdomen, nearly causing death. A Daoist priest instructed buying three jin of old ginger peel, pounding it into a paste, mixing it with two jin of sesame oil, and drying it over fire. First, fold five chi of cooked silk into a square knot, gently lift the protruding fleshy cord with it, coil it three times, and insert it back into the vaginal orifice. Then, place the dried ginger mixture in a silk bag and fumigate the area nearby, replacing it when cold. After one day and night, the cord retracted significantly; within two days, it was fully retracted. However, the cord must not break; if it breaks, it cannot be cured.
*Jing Yan Fang* (Experienced Formulas) records: A woman had a thread-like object protruding from the vagina for over two years. She was cured by applying Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis) powder to the vaginal interior.
Xia Ziyi's *Qi Ji Fang* (Formulas for Strange Diseases) records: A woman suffered from "Jiao Chang" (Crossed Intestines) due to childbirth, where feces were expelled from the anterior orifice (vagina). The treatment involved burning the skull of an old lacquered hat to ash and administering it with wine, interspersed with Wu Ling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) to separate clear from turbid fluids. If a lacquered hat skull is unavailable, any old lacquered gauze cap can serve as a substitute, utilizing the property of lacquer to move stagnant blood.
Zhu Danxi stated: Ma Shisheng, aged fifty-plus, was addicted to alcohol, often drinking heavily without getting drunk. Feces were expelled from the anterior orifice, while urine and stool were expelled from the posterior orifice. His six pulses were deep and choppy. He was treated with Si Wu Tang (Four-Substance Decoction) added with Hai Jin Sha (Lygodii Spora), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis), and Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), resulting in recovery. This man consumed excessive alcohol, leading to reckless qi movement. Alcohol ascends but fails to descend, causing extreme yang deficiency. Long-term accumulation of alcohol-dampness generates heat, scorching the blood and severely depleting yin blood. Although both yin and yang are deficient, he survived temporarily because his physical constitution was robust and the grain qi from alcohol remained. He died three months later, as predicted.
He also stated: A woman in her fifties, addicted to alcohol, drank heavily without getting drunk. Suddenly, feces were expelled from the anterior orifice, and urine from the posterior orifice. Her pulse was deep and choppy. She was treated with Si Wu Tang (Four-Substance Decoction) added with Hai Jin Sha (Lygodii Spora), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis), and Tao Ren (Persicae Semen). After eight doses, she stabilized.
He also stated: A woman in her thirties, two days postpartum, had an object resembling a handkerchief with two pointed ends protruding from the vaginal orifice, weighing over one jin. This was caused by Qi injury from labor during pregnancy, leading to Liver flaccidity (Gan Wei). Fortunately, her deficiency was not severe. Due to the cold weather, he urgently prescribed Zhi Gan Cao (Honey-fried Licorice Root), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), and Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), each 5 fen, along with Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) and Dang Gui Shen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), each 1 qian. After three doses, the mass retracted, and sweating throughout the body brought relief. A piece frozen to the mat weighed about 5-6 liang, which was fatty membrane. Her pulse was choppy, left slightly wiry, indicating excess pattern. He prescribed Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), and Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), each 1.5 qian, Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) 1 qian, and Ginger slice, for 2-3 doses to nourish.
He also stated: A postpartum woman had an object resembling a covered bowl with two branches protruding from the vaginal orifice; this was the uterus, descending due to weak Qi and Blood. He prescribed large doses of Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Huang Qi (Astragali Radix), administered twice. Additionally, he used a leather-worker's method: washing the wrinkled skin with a decoction of Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis). Afterward, she heard a sound and the uterus retracted. However, a palm-sized piece broke off overnight, causing great fear. He comforted her, saying it was not the intestines or stomach, and muscle tears could heal. She took Si Wu Tang (Four-Substance Decoction) added with Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) for dozens of doses and gave birth to another child three years later.
He also stated: Brother Bao, aged thirty, had a penis that was erect, swollen, yet flaccid, with loose, moist skin, making walking difficult due to thigh friction. Qi rose in the hypochondrium, and limbs were weak. Initially, Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) added with Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) was used in large doses to clear damp-heat, with slight addition of Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex) to direct rebellious Qi downward. The swelling gradually subsided by half. However, a hard lump remained in the shaft. Qing Pi (Tangerine Peel) alone was powdered as the chief ingredient, assisted by wind-dispelling powders taken orally. Externally, Lo Gua Ji (Luffae Fructus Juice) mixed with Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis) powder was applied, curing the condition.
He also stated: Zheng Zijing, after drinking water and fruits following alcohol consumption, developed enlarged kidneys producing frog-like sounds or pain. Chao Zhi Shi (Fried Immature Bitter Orange Fruit) 1 liang, Yan Chao Hui Xiang (Salt-fried Fennel Fruit) and Chao Zhi Zi (Fried Gardenia Fruit), each 3 qian, were decocted to send down Bao He Wan (Preserve Harmony Pill), resulting in recovery.
He also stated: A man felt bladder Qi sinking, producing frog-like sounds. Chao Ju He (Fried Tangerine Seed) 10 pieces and Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) 20 pieces were used with Luo Bo Zhi (Radish Juice) to send down Bao He Wan (Preserve Harmony Pill) 70 pills.
*Qi Zheng Fang* (Formulas for Strange Symptoms) records: A man suffered from persistent penile erection, continuous seminal emission, and needle-like pain upon pressure. This disease is named "Qiang Zhong" (Strong Middle), a kidney stagnation and leakage disorder. Po Gu Zi (Psoraleae Fructus) and Jiu Zi (Trichosanthis Pollen? Note: Text says Jiu Zi, likely Leuzea or similar, but traditionally Jiu Zi refers to Trichosanthes or related, here likely referring to a specific herb for kidney, often interpreted as Leuzea/Cibotium or similar in context of strong middle, but strictly Jiu Zi usually implies Trichosanthes or similar. In TCM classics for Qiang Zhong, it is often Po Gu Zi and Jiu Cai Zi. Let's stick to text: Jiu Zi), each 1 liang, powdered. Take 3 qian per dose, decocted in two cups of water to six parts, three times daily. Stop when cured.
He also stated: A woman gave birth to a pair of worms capable of moving on the ground, over one cun long. Each month, a new pair emerged from the posterior orifice. The physician used Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) added with vermifuge medicines made into pills. Another pair emerged, was buried in soil, and dug up days later, swollen like a fist. Named "Zi Mu Chong" (Mother-Child Worms), this eradicated the root cause.
*Wei Shi Fang* (Wei's Formulas) records: A woman's menstrual discharge transformed into shapes resembling birds and beasts, attempting to harm people. Cotton was first inserted into the vaginal orifice, followed by a single dose of Mo Yao (Myrrha) 1 liang, taken with warm water, resulting in cure.
[Shen Yuan's Comment] This condition is caused by abnormal qi affecting the uterus (Zi Hu). The menstrual blood transforms into monsters according to the pathogenic influence. Mo Yao (Myrrha) dissipates nodulated qi and unblocks stagnant blood; once qi disperses and blood flows, the monsters disappear and evil vanishes.
Meng Shen's *Shi Liao Ben Cao* (Food Therapy Materia Medica) records: A woman suffered from insect carbuncle at the vaginal opening, with unbearable itching and pain. Xing Ren (Prunus Armeniacae Semen) peeled and burned to retain its nature, pounded into a paste, wrapped in cotton, and inserted into the vagina proved effective.
*Ji Jian Fang* (Collected Simple Formulas) records: A postpartum woman developed "Fan Hua" (flower-turning ulcer) due to dryness and heat in the vaginal orifice. Urgently, Ze Lan (Leonuri Herba) 4 liang was decocted for fumigation and washing 2-3 times, followed by washing with Ku Fan (Alumen) decoction, bringing relief.
*Qian Jin Fang* (Thousand Gold Formulas) records: A man suffered from cold genitals, with cold air gradually entering the scrotum, causing swelling, agony, sleeplessness, and distress. Fresh Sichuan pepper (Sheng Jiao) was selected, washed, and wrapped in cloth around the scrotum to a thickness of half cun. Soon, abundant warmth spread. Repeating this process led to recovery.
Xu Xue Shi in *Ben Shi Fang* (Effective Formulas) said: He once treated a man with cold genitals, cold air entering the scrotum, causing swelling, pain, and insomnia. Decocted Da Ji (Cirsii Japonici Herba) juice cured him.
*Suo Sui Lu* (Trivial Records) records: The seven-day-old son of Wang family in Sicun had retractile testes (testicles drawn into the abdomen). A physician used Liu Huang (Sulfur) and Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus), rubbed garlic onto the abdomen, and fumigated with Chuang Zi (Cnidii Fructus), curing the initial cold pathogen invasion.
*Ji Feng Bei Ji Fang* (Chicken Peak Emergency Formulas) records: An elderly man had hard kidneys due to internal kidney deficiency-cold and結硬 (knotting/hardening). Even tonics failed to penetrate. One pair of sheep kidneys and one slice of Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex, 2 cun long, 1 cun wide) were cooked together and eaten on an empty stomach to soften the internal kidneys before administering tonics.
*San Shi Liu Huang Fang* (Thirty-Six Yellow Diseases Formulas) records: A man suffered from "Zou Jing" (Wandering Essence), presenting with yellow complexion, hypersomnia, purple tongue, and facial cracks. Named "Zou Jing Huang Bing" (Wandering Essence Yellow Disease). If nail beds are black, death ensues. Dou Chi (Fermented Soybean) 0.5 liang and Niu Zhi (Bovine Fat) 1 liang were decocted, wrapped in cotton, and applied to the tongue to burn off the black layer. Concentrated Dou Chi decoction was drunk. Also, "Fang Lao Huang Bing" (Sexual Exhaustion Yellow Disease) presents with heavy body, insomnia, red eyes like vermilion, and epigastric masses resembling jia (abdominal lumps). Mortality is high (9 deaths, 1 survival). Apply cauterization to the sublingual area, moxa Heart Shu (Xin Shu) and Guan Yuan (CV4) for 14 moxibustions, and administer 2 qian of ash from women's underwear with wine.
*Lin Ting Ji Yao Fang* (Collected Essential Formulas of Lin Ting) records: A relative of Ye Chaoyi suffered from bloody strangury (Xue Lin). The blood coagulated in the basin, eventually transforming into a rat-like shape without feet. Hundred treatments failed. A village doctor used Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex) and Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) roots decocted into thick juice, taken five times daily, named Di Sui Tang (Earth Marrow Decoction). Though not immediately cured, blood color lightened, and health gradually returned. Ten years later, the disease recurred, and taking it again cured it.
Jiang Huang Nan said: Scholar Jin from Xiuning often told others: "I frequently suffer severe lower abdominal pain, resistant to all medicines." A physician moxaed Guan Yuan (CV4) over ten times. The next day, his urethra itched intensely, revealing a worm-like object emerging 4-5 fen. It was pulled out with iron pincers, measuring 5-6 cun. Worms continued to emerge over several days, and pain ceased. Initially terrified, he later accepted it as normal, pulling them out by hand. Zhang Zhongjing said: Although fire power is slight, its internal attack is powerful. Worms, pressured by fire, have no refuge and thus exit through the urinary orifice. This man drinks excessively; the stomach and bladder harbor damp-heat. Stagnant blood and turbidity steam and ferment into worms. The Classics state: Damp-heat generates worms; this is logical.
*Wang Bugong Yin An Suo Yu* (Yin An Trivial Words by Wang Bugong) records: Cheng Xiaolian (Scholar Cheng) Guangli, courtesy name Yixian, devoutly worshipped Lü Zu (Lü Dongbin). Suddenly, black qi entered his heart, feeling like contact with a woman's vagina, causing massive seminal emission. Talismans and medicines failed. One day, a Daoist priest taught him to wear Mosiang (Musk). Initially ineffective, but after wearing more than two tael, the affliction vanished. My friend Sheng Hejiang personally heard Yixian recount this.
*Dong Xuan Zhu Ren Shu Yi Ji* (Records of Oddities by Master Dong Xuan) records: Lady Zhang, wife of Wu Gongbi from Zhoushan, Shaoxing, suffered from flaccidity for over ten years. Suddenly, symptoms changed to dripping, urinary retention, bedridden, and unresponsive to medicine. An old auntie over eighty said: "I have seen this; it cannot be cured by medicine. She must deliver a stone egg to recover." Everyone disbelieved. Over a year later, in May of the 37th year of Kangxi, she delivered a stone egg, the size of a goose egg, smooth with fine lines. Striking it with an axe caused no damage. The egg remains today, and Lady Zhang's previous symptoms vanished completely.
Qing Lin treated a postpartum woman whose fetus died, stopping menstruation for half a year. One day, sudden lower abdominal pain occurred, with a stone-hard object in the vagina causing unbearable pain. Physicians did not recognize it. Qing Lin said: "This is Shi Jia (Stone Mass)." He used Si Wu Tang (Four-Substance Decoction) added with Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), San Leng (Sparganii Rhizoma), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Yuan Hu (Corydalis Rhizoma), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Ze Xie (Alismatis Rhizoma), and Xue Jie (Santal Rubrum). Three doses cured her.
Li Dongyuan treated a wealthy man who smelled foul odor from the anterior orifice and had digestive discomfort due to consecutive days of drinking. Li said: "The anterior orifice is the pathway of the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian. Yin Qi emerges from its tip. Odors are governed by the Heart, dispersing into five directions. Entering the Liver, it becomes fishy odor. This is one aspect. One should drain Xing Jian (LR2) in the Liver to treat the root, then drain Shao Chong (HT9) in the Heart Meridian to treat the branch. If averse to needles, use herbs, seeking the root. Consecutive drinking generates damp-heat from wine's flavor and qi, combining with the Lower Jiao as pathogen. Thus, the Classics say: 'The Lower Jiao is like a ditch.' And: 'In the lower, exhaust it.' Wine is damp-heat water, best drained via the anterior orifice. This combines two methods for the Lower Jiao: Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction)."
Lu Cangzhou treated a man over fifty, dark-complexioned, habitual drinker. Suddenly, his penis became rigid, unable to touch clothes, unable to bend waist to bow. He often held a bamboo whip bent like a bow in front of his penis. He desired alcohol only after urinating; otherwise, Qi felt disconnected. This was due to damp-heat flowing into the Jueyin Meridian. Treating specifically for Jueyin damp-heat cured him.
A relative of a favorite concubine, over thirty, felt hidden pain during intercourse, sometimes bleeding. Pulse: both Chi positions deep, sluggish, and choppy. Blood-nourishing and cold-dispelling agents failed. Considering the medicine matched the disease but failed, perhaps the dosage/timing was incorrect. Checking *Qian Jin Fang*, he used She Chuang Zi San (Cnidius Powder) wrapped in cotton and inserted. Cured in two applications.
Xue Ji treated a parturient woman with uterine inversion/prolapse lasting two days before reduction. A piece resembling pork liver fell off. She had sallow complexion, fatigue, poor appetite, internal heat, afternoon fever, spontaneous sweating, and night sweats. Twenty-plus doses of Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Comprehensive Great Tonifying Decoction) eliminated all symptoms, and fertility resumed.
Tang Yu Zheng treated Patrolman Wu who could not urinate. Passing urine slightly when lying down, but not a drop when standing. All diuretics failed. Tang asked about his habits and learned he regularly took Hei Xi Dan (Black Tin Pill). He realized: "When forming stones, sulfur volatilizes, but lead remains. Lead enters the bladder. When lying down, it shifts weight, allowing some urine; when standing, it blocks the waterway, causing obstruction." He took Jin Ye Dan (Golden Liquid Pill) 300 pills, divided into ten doses, taken with Qu Mai (Polygoni Avicularis Herba) decoction. Lead reacts with sulfur to dissolve, and the waterway cleared.
Sun Dongsu treated Zhong Hongxi of the Censorate. Fever and thirst led to excessive consumption of ice-soaked melons and pears, causing diarrhea and scanty urine. Physicians used Wei Ling Tang (Stomach-Calm Decoction) added with Hua Shi (Talcum), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis), and Che Qian (Plantaginis Semen). Diarrhea stopped, but stool became dry and difficult. Run Chang Wan (Moisten Intestines Pill) caused recurrent diarrhea. Previous diuretics stopped diarrhea but blocked urine flow. Abdominal distension and urgency occurred; standing yielded no urine, lying down produced endless flow. Frequent trips to the chamber pot caused insomnia. After half a year, spirit waned, sleep and appetite lost. Sun diagnosed: residual summer-heat unresolved, original habit of drinking led to damp-heat flowing downward. Initial Yi Yuan San (Benefit Primordial Powder) 3 qian in Xiang Ru (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) decoction showed no progress. Next morning, pulse unchanged. Sun suddenly realized: "The urinary orifice is misaligned." *Nei Jing* states: "The Bladder is the chamber of the bladder wall (Pao)." Damp-heat in the Pao sinks downward. Standing causes misalignment; although urine flows smoothly, it does not pass directly, hence incomplete voiding. Treatment requires lifting and tonifying Upper and Middle Jiao Yuan Qi, while clearing Lower Jiao damp-heat. Another method: Qi deficiency with sinking has lasted long; one or two doses won't work, and how can he sleep on a pillow? Insomnia is not due to Heart Blood deficiency but anxiety about incomplete voiding. Place a cloth pad on the mat to catch urine without worry, avoiding disturbance of spirit, allowing natural sleep. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Middle-Boosting and Qi-Invigorating Decoction) added with Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex) and Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) clears Lower Jiao damp-heat. Clearing heat lifts, turbid Yin descends. Without damp-heat, Pao does not sink, orifice aligns, and illness heals. He slept deeply, spirit recovered instantly. Four days of regulation ensured full recovery.
Li Yinqi suffered from bloody strangury for two years, recurring every ten-plus days. Urination was difficult and painful. Preceding flare-ups: facial heat, toothache, then bloody strangury. Early stages preferred warm drinks, later hot, finally ice-cold water. Extreme thirst required drinking well-water. Unflared: constipation, one bowel movement every 4-5 days. Flared: loose stools. Pulse: Left Cun short/weak, Guan wiry/large; Right Cun lower half and Guan slippery/large; both Chi large/throbbing. Diagnosis: Phlegm in Middle Jiao, Blood stasis in Liver Meridian. Method: Remove stasis, generate new blood, lift clear, descend turbid. Si Wu Tang (Four-Substance Decoction) added with Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex) and Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) to nourish new blood; Hua Shi (Talcum) and Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) to resolve stasis; Zhi Shi (Immature Bitter Orange Fruit) and Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus) to transform phlegm; Shan Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus) to descend fire; Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) to lift clear Qi. Twenty doses reduced symptoms. Then, Hua Shi (Talcum), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), each 1 liang; Hu Po (Amber), Xiao Hui Xiang (Foeniculi Fructus), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex), each 1.5 qian; Yuan Ming Fen (Mirabilite) 3 qian; Hai Jin Sha (Lygodii Spora), Mo Yao (Myrrha), each 5 qian. Ma Gen Zhi (Asparagus Juice) boiled into paste for pills. Take 1 qian on empty stomach and evening with Ma Gen Tang (Asparagus Decoction). Cured.
A woman had mild abdominal pain, irregular menstruation, sore throat, limb numbness and tremors, loss of hunger. Left pulse large/throbbing, pea-sized. Prescribed Chuan Wu (Aconiti Radix), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus), Wu Mei (Mume Fructus), Fen Cao (Licorice Root), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Jiu Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Spica), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fu Ling (Poria). Four doses brought peace. Next month, heavy menstruation lasted ten days. Huang Qi (Astragali Radix), E Jiao (Colla Corii Asini), Pu Huang (Typhae Pollen), each 1 qian; Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) 2 qian; Gan Cao (Licorice Root) 3 fen. One dose stopped it. Later, feeling turbid Qi sinking, flatulence from uterus. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Middle-Boosting and Qi-Invigorating Decoction) added with Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) regulated her.
A woman developed a boil beside the uterus monthly during menstruation. Swollen but painless. After 3-5 days, pierced with a red-hot silver hairpin, draining a cup of white pus, resolving without scars. Initially needled, later pinched to release pus. Occurs only during menstruation, location varies but near uterus. For eight years, internal/external medicine failed, causing infertility. Sun realized after two days: Damp-phlegm in Middle Jiao flows down with menses, obstructing the uterus. Menstrual flow condenses phlegm into pus; since not toxic, no pain. Bai Luo Si Ke (Concha Melanoidae) calcined as chief; Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) as ministers; Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Gan Cao (Licorice Root) as assistants. Dough pills taken morning and evening. Menstruation stopped swelling before course finished; gave birth next year.
A maid-servant had uterine prolapse outside the body for half a month after difficult labor, unable to sit or lie comfortably. Poor family, feared chronic illness. Specialist suggested 100 doses of Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Middle-Boosting and Qi-Invigorating Decoction), 3 qian Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) per dose, totaling 2 jin. Husband refused, citing poverty. Someone reported to Sun. Sun said: "Cold during labor caused blood stasis preventing retraction. Though named Yin Tuo (Yin Collapse), not solely Qi deficiency. Good appetite and normal bowel/bladder function confirm this. I have a cheap, effective method for recovery in 3-5 days." Use 2-3 jin of Duan Shi (Calcined Iron Ore) not touched by menstruation. Decoct 2-3 jin of Jiu Cai (Allium tuberosum) in a basin. Add ash, boil. Filter ash. Sit on basin while hot, fumigating then washing. Probe lesion with cooked Jiu Cai. Duan Shi disperses cold and resolves blood; Jiu Cai moves Qi and resolves blood. Wash once daily. Initially refreshing; after three days, mass softened and retracted.
A man had glans swelling like a sheng (measure), bright like a blister. Physician diagnosed damp-phlegm flowing down. Er Chen Tang (Two-Cured Decoction) added with Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Qing Dai (Indigo Naturalis), and Mu Li (Ostreae Concha). Two doses cured.
