症为风热挟痰而作也。自里而发于外。当散。切不可下。疹属热与痰在肺。清肺火降痰。或解散出汗。

按小儿疳眼。无论肥瘦。但见白珠先带黄兼白色皱起。后微红生眵。怕亮不睁。上下眼睥频频札动不
定。黑珠上有白膜成如此样HT 圈。堆起白晕。晕内一黑一白。亦有肥瘦不同。疳眼无疑也。但肥疳大便如豆
腐渣糟粕相似。瘦疳大便小如栗硬结燥。乃疳积入眼。攻致肝经。亦难治矣。小儿患疳眼声哑者。命将终也。
疳眼伤脾湿热熏。木盛土衰风毒生。渴泻肚大青筋露。目札涩痒且羞明。时时揉鼻常 发。湿热生虫莫

小儿雀目。夜不见物。灸手大拇指甲后一寸。内 横纹头白肉际灸一炷。如小麦大。
小儿疳眼。灸合谷二穴各一壮。炷如小麦大。在手大指次指两骨间陷者中是。
升麻干葛汤（治暴发。两目红肿疼痛。寒热相争。河间云。暴发者属腑。表散是也。一二服即止。）

通顶散（治小儿脑热。脑枕骨疼。闭目不开。或头风痛。攒眉啼哭。并赤目。）
川芎 薄荷（各五钱） 茵陈 甘草（各四钱） 朴硝（三钱甜硝亦可）
上为细末。用少许吹鼻中。即效。如要嚏喷。加踯躅花一钱。只用朴硝吹鼻亦止。
症状是由风热挟带痰浊所致。病邪从体内发于体表。应当采用疏散法治疗，切不可使用泻下法。疹属于热与痰在肺部的表现，需清肺火、降痰浊，或者通过解散表邪、出汗来治疗。
也有可以使用泻下法的病例。瘾疹（荨麻疹）都属于脾经的问题，因为它们隐隐约约地出现在皮肤之间。发作时多伴有瘙痒，这是因为余毒未解，向上攻冲至眼目所致。适宜服用消毒化障汤。
消毒化障汤
白芷、黑栀子仁（炒，各八分）、防风、黄芩（炒）、陈皮、白芍药（各一钱）、羌活（七分）、甘草（三分）、犀角（锉成细末一钱）。
前八味药，共为一剂。用白水两钟（约400毫升），煎煮至七分（约280毫升），滤去药渣，再将药液煮沸。先将犀角生粉放入碗内，然后将滚热的药液倒入犀角粉中，搅拌均匀后温服。
疳症都是因为饮食不节制，饥饱失调，导致腹部胀大、面色萎黄，重则危及生命，轻则损害眼睛。患此病不要只治眼睛，而应直接治疗疳症，眼病自然痊愈。切忌食用油炸面食及烧烤等食物。
按：小儿疳眼，无论身体肥瘦，只要见到白眼球（巩膜）先发黄兼有白色皱起，随后微红并产生眼屎，怕光不敢睁眼，上下眼睑频繁眨动不定，黑眼球（角膜）上有白膜形成如此样的HT圈，堆起白色晕圈，晕圈内一黑一白，也有肥瘦不同的情况，这无疑是疳眼。但是，肥疳的大便像豆腐渣糟粕相似，瘦疳的大便小如栗子且硬结干燥，这是疳积入眼，攻致肝经，也难以治疗了。小儿患疳眼声音嘶哑的，性命将终。
疳眼伤脾湿热熏蒸，木盛土衰风毒内生。口渴腹泻肚子大青筋暴露，眼睛眨动涩痒且畏光。时时揉鼻子常打喷嚏，湿热生虫不可轻视。急宜先服用消疳散，瞬息延误会导致突眼。芦荟丸子根据顺序治疗，使肝平脾医保护瞳神。
消疳退云饮
陈皮、厚朴（姜汁炒）、苍术（米泔水制）、莱菔子（炒研碎少许）、柴胡、甘草（炙少许）、枳壳（麸炒）、草决明（炒研碎）、桔梗、青皮、黄连（酒炒）、密蒙花、栀子（炒黑）、黄芩（酒炒）、神曲（炒）、家菊花（各等分）。
共锉为粗末，以姜皮、灯心草为引，用水两钟煎服，药渣再煎一次。

上为细末，猪胆汁浸糕成丸，如麻子大。每服十丸，薄荷汤送下。或化下亦可。
宝鉴灸雀目疳眼法
小儿雀目（夜盲），夜不见物。灸手大拇指甲后一寸，内横纹头白肉际，灸一炷，如小麦大。

通顶散（治疗小儿脑热，脑枕骨疼，闭目不开，或头风痛，攒眉啼哭，并赤目。）
川芎、薄荷（各五钱）、茵陈、甘草（各四钱）、朴硝（三钱，甜硝亦可）。
上为细末，用少许吹鼻中，即效。如要嚏喷，加踯躅花一钱。只用朴硝吹鼻亦止。
The symptoms are caused by wind-heat combined with phlegm. The pathogen originates from the interior and manifests on the exterior. It should be treated with dispersing methods; purgation must strictly be avoided. Rashes belong to heat and phlegm in the Lung, requiring clearing of Lung fire and descending of phlegm, or resolving the exterior through sweating.
There are cases where purgation is applicable. Urticaria (Hives) all belong to the Spleen, as they appear faintly within the skin. When erupting, itching is common, due to residual toxins failing to resolve and attacking upwards to the eyes. It is suitable to take Xiaodu Huazhang Tang (Disinfectant and Opacity-Dissolving Decoction).
Xiaodu Huazhang Tang (Disinfectant and Opacity-Dissolving Decoction)
Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Hei Zhi Ren (Gardeniae Fructus, fried, 8 fen each), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, fried), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Bai Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 qian each), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, 7 fen), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 3 fen), Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu, finely powdered, 1 qian).
The first eight herbs constitute one dose. Boil in two zhong (approx. 400ml) of plain water until reduced to seven-tenths (approx. 280ml). Strain the dregs. Bring the liquid to a boil again. Place the raw Xi Jiao powder in a bowl first, then pour the boiling decoction into the powder. Stir well and take warm.
Gan syndrome (Malnutrition syndrome) is caused by irregular diet and imbalance between hunger and fullness, leading to abdominal distension and sallow complexion. In severe cases, it endangers life; in mild cases, it damages the eyes. When suffering from this condition, do not treat only the eyes; instead, directly treat the Gan syndrome, and the eye disease will heal spontaneously. Strictly avoid fried noodles and roasted foods.
Note: For pediatric Gan eye, regardless of whether the child is fat or thin, if the sclera (white part of the eye) first turns yellow with white wrinkling, followed by slight redness and discharge, photophobia, frequent blinking of upper and lower eyelids, and a white membrane forming on the cornea (black part of the eye) resembling an HT ring with a white halo containing black and white areas, this is undoubtedly Gan eye. However, if the stool of a fat Gan child resembles tofu dregs, or the stool of a thin Gan child is small like chestnuts and hard/dry, indicating Gan accumulation has entered the eyes and attacked the Liver meridian, it is difficult to treat. If a child with Gan eye has a hoarse voice, death is imminent.
Gan eye involves damp-heat steaming the Spleen; Wood excess and Earth deficiency generate wind-toxin. Thirst, diarrhea, large abdomen with visible veins, eye blinking,涩 (astringency/itchiness), and photophobia occur. Frequent nose rubbing and sneezing happen; damp-heat generating parasites must not be underestimated. Urgently administer Xiaogan San (Eliminate Gan Powder) first; any delay may result in proptosis. Lulu Wan (Aloe Pill) treats according to sequence, calming the Liver, protecting the Spleen, and preserving the pupil spirit.
Xiaogan Tuiyun Yin (Eliminate Gan and Cloud-Dispelling Decoction)
Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, stir-fried with ginger juice), Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, processed with rice wash water), Lai Fu Zi (Radish Seed, fried and crushed slightly), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried slightly), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried), Cao Jue Ming (Cassiae Semen, fried and crushed), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Qing Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, wine-fried), Mi Meng Hua (Flos Myricariae), Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus, charred), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, wine-fried), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, fried), Jia Ju Hua (Chrysanthemi Flos, equal parts).
Grind together. Use Jiang Pi (Zingiberis Pericarpium) and Deng Xin Cao (Junci Medullary as引 (guide)). Boil in two zhong of water and take. Re-boil the dregs.
Ji Fei San (Chicken Lung Powder) (Treats Gan disease eye, generating white membrane/opacities, which naturally dissipate; efficacy is miraculous.)
One male chicken (weighing 1 jin 3-4 liang, take a piece of blood from the spine named "Chicken Lung", grind the lung with subsequent herbs thoroughly), Chen Sha (Cinnabar, 3 fen, finely ground), Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum, 3 li, finely ground).
Grind the three together into a paste. Stew in non-grain alcohol until boiling, stir well, and consume. Cure follows.
Jiuwei Lulu Wan (Nine-Ingredient Aloe Pill) (Treats gum toxicity becoming Gan, liver meridian accumulated heat, eye opacities, tooth erosion and gum rot, spreading to cheeks, liver-spleen Gan heat nodules, ear sores with discharge, urinary fluid leakage, inguinal nodules, irregular bowel movements, emaciation, etc. Take for all these conditions.)
Lulu (Aloeswood), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Hu Huang Lian (Coptidis Chinensis Rhizoma alternative), Xuan Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, fried), Qing Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), He Shi (Hedychii Spicatum Rhizoma), Bai Lei Wan (Wanitosporae Sclerotium), Bai Wu Yi (Meliosmae Fructus, fried, 1 liang each), She Xiang (Moschus, 3 qian, select clean, grind separately, add to powder for pill making).
Grind into fine powder. Use Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) paste to form pills, size of hemp seeds. Take 5 fen per dose, with empty-stomach rice soup. Adjust dosage based on patient size. Avoid all cold, raw, oily, fried, and roasted foods.
Sheng Shu Di Huang Wan (Raw and Cooked Rehmannia Pill) (Treats Liver Gan eye, white membrane covering pupil, tightly closed, photophobia, lying face down, sallow-green flesh color, erect hair, blue veins, high fever, emaciation.)
Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, 5 qian each), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, soaked, peel and tip removed), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Heart), Hu Huang Lian (Coptidis Chinensis Rhizoma alternative, lightly fried), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, soaked and processed), Tian Ma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex), Dang Gui Shen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 2.5 qian each), Dahei Dou (Sojae Semen Nigrum, 45 grains, boiled, peeled, re-boiled, mashed into paste with juice, added to other herbs later with refined honey).
Grind into fine powder. Use refined honey to form pills, size of longan. Take with boiling water on an empty stomach.
Ji Gan San (Chicken Liver Powder) (Treats pediatric Gan eye, not red, swollen, or painful, but photophobic. This medicine treats it.)
Chuan Wu (Aconiti Radix, one large one, peeled, used raw), Hao Pi Zi (Good Hemp Seed, one zi).
Grind into fine powder. For five-year-olds, take 1 qian. Take one male chicken liver, clean thoroughly removing fascia. Slice thinly with a bamboo knife, sprinkle medicine inside, wrap in bamboo leaf, tie with hemp rope. Stew in half a zhong of rice wash water in a porcelain vessel until cooked. Cut into slices. Eat cold on an empty stomach before bed. Send down with the liver stewing liquid. If brain heat closes eyes and nose is dry, blow Tongding San into the nose.
Longdan Lulu Wan (Gentian and Aloe Pill) (Treats San Jiao and Liver/Gallbladder meridians, accumulated wind-heat causing eye cloudiness, scrofula, ear sores, chills and pain, internal deficiency fire burning, emaciation, fever with thirst, poor appetite, abdominal irregularity, dry skin and bloating, oral ulcers, gum rot, tooth loss, cheek rot, lower body sores, etc.)
Lulu (Aloeswood), Hu Huang Lian (Coptidis Chinensis Rhizoma alternative, fried), Long Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix, 1 liang each), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Wu Yi (Meliosmae Fructus, 6 qian), Dang Gui Shen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Bai Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1.5 liang each), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 8 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, 5 qian).
Grind into fine powder. Use refined honey to form pills. Divide each liang into ten pills. Take appropriate amount based on size, dissolved in boiling water.
In this formula, Bai Shao Yao harmonizes blood and tonifies Spleen/Stomach, Dang Gui nourishes blood vessels, serving as Sovereign (Jun). Lulu eliminates Gan and clears heat, Hu Huang Lian treats bone-steaming consumption fever, serving as Minister (Chen). Long Dan Cao treats various eye diseases, Wu Yi kills Gan parasites and expels internal pain qi, Chuan Xiong raises clear qi upwards, serving as Assistant (Zuo). Mu Xiang regulates qi, Gan Cao harmonizes all herbs, serving as Envoy (Shi).
Xiaogan San (Eliminate Gan Powder) (Treats Gan accumulation, eye opacities covering pupil.)
Shi Jun Zi (Quisqualis Fructus, use white ones, remove oil), Lei Wan (Wanitosporae Sclerotium, use white part, red part kills humans, do not use. Soak in rice wash water with slight Cang Zhu, roast Lei Wan with Cang Zhu over fire, use Lei Wan after removing Cang Zhu, fry dry, equal parts, grind fine).
Use 1 fen per year of age. Boys use female chicken liver, girls use male chicken liver. Do not touch iron. Cleanly remove fascia and blood water. Stew until half-cooked, dip in medicine and eat. Effect seen in no more than 3-4 doses. If opacity is thick, add Mu Zei (Equiseti Herba) burnt to ash, Xiong Huang (Realgar), Zhen Zhu (Pearl) 1 qian each, grind extremely fine, mix with previous medicine.
Tian Ma Wan (Gastrodia Pill) (Treats Liver Gan, Wind Gan, Gan Eye)
Qing Dai (Indicum), Tian Ma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Ye Ming Sha (Typhlotrichii Retinervus), Wu Ling Zhi (Trogopterori Faeces), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Lulu (Aloeswood), Chuan Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, fried, 3 qian each), Long Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix), Chan Tui (Cicadae Periostracum, remove head and feet), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 1.5 qian each), Gan Chan Tou (Bufo Toad Head, roasted until charred, 3 qian), Quan Xie (Scorpio, 2 pieces, baked), She Xiang (Moschus, slight amount).
Grind into fine powder. Soak cake in pig bile to form pills, size of hemp seeds. Take 10 pills per dose, send down with mint soup. Or dissolve and take.
Baojian Moxibustion Method for Night Blindness and Gan Eye
For pediatric night blindness (cannot see at night): Moxibustion on the hand thumb nail posterior one cun, at the inner transverse crease head, white flesh boundary. One moxa cone, size of wheat grain.
For pediatric Gan eye: Moxibustion on Hegu (LI4) acupoints, one mound each. Cone size of wheat grain. Located in the depression between the first and second metacarpal bones.
Shengma Gan Ge Tang (Kudzu and Cimicifuga Decoction) (Treats sudden onset, red/swollen/painful eyes, alternating chills and fever. He Jian said: Sudden onset belongs to Fu organs, exterior dispersion is the method. Stops after 1-2 doses.)
Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix, 5 fen each), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 1 qian each), Gan Ge (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, 1.5 qian), Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, 3 fen each), Chan Tui (Cicadae Periostracum, 7 pieces), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 4 fen each).
Grind into coarse powder. Add one slice of fresh ginger, one segment of green onion white. Boil in two zhong of plain water until reduced to one zhong. Strain. Take hot after meals. Induce sweating as the goal.
Cheqianzi San (Plantago Seed Powder) (Treats pediatric liver meridian accumulated heat attacking upward, reverse/normal opacity generation in eyes, blood flooding pupil, photophobia, excessive discharge.)
Mi Meng Hua (Flos Myricariae), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen, fried), Fen Cao (Licorice, fried), Bai Ji Li (Tribuli Fructus), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, fried), Cao Jue Ming (Cassiae Semen), Ju Hua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Long Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix, washed and fried, equal parts).
Grind into powder. Take 2 qian per dose, send down with rice soup after meals.
Yanggan Wan (Nourish Liver Pill) (Treats pediatric liver blood deficiency, blurry vision, discharge/tears, weakness after prolonged viewing.)
Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Dang Gui Shen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, wine-processed), Bai Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, wine-washed and fried), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, wine-washed and fried), Chu Shi Zi (Torreya Semen, remove membrane, shade-dried), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen, wine-boiled and baked), Shu Di (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, wine-steamed and mashed into paste), Wei Rui Ren (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma, remove shell/skin/tip/oil to get frost, equal parts).
Except for Shu Di paste and Wei Rui frost which are added separately, grind the rest into fine powder. Use refined honey to form pills. Size 1 qian or 5 fen per pill. Adjust based on infant size. Take one pill per dose with boiling white water at any time. For adults, make small pills, take 3 qian per dose with boiling water.
Tongding San (Reach Top Powder) (Treats pediatric brain heat, occipital pain, closed eyes, or wind-headache, furrowed brows crying, and red eyes.)
Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Bo He (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, 5 qian each), Yin Chen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 4 qian each), Piao Xiao (Mirabilitum, 3 qian, sweet salt also acceptable).
Grind into fine powder. Blow a small amount into the nose. Immediate effect. If sneezing is desired, add Zhi Zhu Hua (Daphne Genkwa Flower) 1 qian. Using only Piao Xiao blown into the nose also stops symptoms.
