Pediatric Wind-Heat Syndrome. Manifesting as wheezing, stridor (abnormal high-pitched breathing sound), and shoulder breathing (accessory muscle use in respiration). If the pulse is slow and relaxed (Huan Mai), survival is indicated; if the pulse is rapid and urgent (Ji Mai), death is indicated.
Pediatric Dysentery. If the pulse is floating and large (Fu Da) accompanied by abdominal pain, death is inevitable.
Infantile Febrile Disease. If the pulse is suspended and small (Xuan Xiao), but the hands and feet are warm, survival is indicated; if the hands and feet are cold, death is indicated.
Critical Pediatric Condition. Sweating profusely like pearls, where sweat beads adhere to the body without flowing, indicates death.
Pediatric Disease with Chest Depression. Symptoms include dry lips, fixed gaze (eyes staring straight ahead), cold breath from the mouth, head drooping unable to lift the body, flaccid and hanging limbs, rigid body, and cold palms. These are all untreatable conditions indicating death. A chaotic pulse (Luan Mai) signifies the same prognosis.
Red vessels on the upper eyelids extending down through the pupil. Fontanelle swelling protruding or sinking into a pit. Dry, black, and scaly nose. Distended abdomen with visible blue veins. Frequent fixed gaze with immobile eyeballs. Black nails. Sudden crow-like sounds. Flaccid tongue receding to expose gums. Teeth grinding or biting. Fish-mouth gasping (open-mouthed rapid breathing). Crying without sound. Expulsion of roundworms. All these are signs of impending death.
For infants aged one month to three years, observe the color of the pulses on both sides inside the Tiger's Mouth (the area between the thumb and index finger). (The pulses may appear yellow, green/blue, red, purple, or black. Yellow indicates normalcy/peace; black indicates critical danger; green/blue, red, and purple are used for disease diagnosis.)

Purple color indicates Prenatal Fright Heat.
Deep purple lines on the fingers indicate crying and groaning during fright attacks. Slight purple lines indicate intestinal pain. Vomiting and diarrhea with curved lines indicate middle-jiao nausea.
