Cold of the Liver transmitting to the Spleen results in foul-smelling greenish-blue stool. Scorched yellow is the manifestation of Heat in the Earth element (Spleen). Lung affected by Cold presents with white stool containing sticky pus. Redness is caused by Heart Heat or Kidney Heat.
The Stomach is the sea of water and grain. Its essence circulates to nourish the five Zang organs, while the dregs are transmitted to the Large Intestine for excretion. Internally, injury arises from raw, cold milk and food; externally, it is due to invasion by Wind, Cold, Summer-heat, and Dampness. Irregular eating and fasting times lead to the Spleen's inability to digest. The interference of Cold and Heat pathogens leads to diarrhea and dysentery. If the Qi of the Spleen and Stomach harmonizes to digest water and grain, and the clear and turbid parts are separated, how could diarrhea occur? Generally, deficiency of the Spleen causes vomiting, while deficiency of the Stomach causes diarrhea. When both Spleen and Stomach are deficient, vomiting and diarrhea occur together. Prolonged diarrhea without cessation fails to secure the Yuan Qi (Original Qi), inevitably transmitting to Slow Convulsion (Chronic Epilepsy/Convulsions); this requires major tonification.
Treatment methods: Push Three Gates, Clear Heart Meridian, Clear Kidney Water, Tonify Spleen and Stomach, Dig Left Duanzheng Acupoint, Side-push Large Intestine, Rub Wailaogong, Divide Yin and Yang, Push Eight Trigrams, Rub Navel and Guiwei (Tailbone) Acupoints, Dig both sides of Dubiao (Belly Corner), Tonify Yongquan, Dig Chengshan. For Heat syndromes, add Laomingyue (Scooping Bright Moon), Da Ma Guo Tianhe (Horse Crossing the Heavenly River), Push Three Gates, Push Six Limbs, Push Elbow.
Huoluan (Cholera-like disorder) refers to sudden, chaotic symptoms. External pathogenic invasion and internal dietary injury cause a separation of Yin and Yang Qi, resulting in upper vomiting and lower diarrhea, with intestinal disturbance and stifling pain.
Treatment methods: Push Three Gates, Push Lung Meridian, Push Eight Trigrams, Tonify Earth (Spleen), Push Large Intestine, Push Four Horizontal Lines, Divide Yin and Yang, Er Ren Shangma (Two Persons Ascending Mounting), Clear Canglong Baiwei (Green Dragon Swinging Tail).
