For infants under nursing age, if fed excessively, or if the infant continues to suckle while sleeping without satisfaction, it will lead to the Spleen's inability to transport and transform, and the Stomach's inability to receive and hold the excess, causing overflow and thus vomiting. If this persists for a long time, it may eventually result in Slow Convulsion (a chronic convulsive syndrome characterized by spasms and clouded consciousness). Can one not be cautious about this? For this condition, the best approach is to regulate breastfeeding; in severe cases, temporary weaning is advisable. First, allow the lactating mother to take Qi-regulating formulas, and let the infant take Xiao Ru Wan (Milk-Dissolving Pill) to resolve milk accumulation and aid digestion as the primary strategy. If milk flows out from the corners of the mouth, this is a sign of excessive milk that cannot be digested and overflows; it is not a disease, and one should not recklessly administer other anti-emetic drugs. Whenever vomited milk flows out directly without staying, it is referred to as "Ru Lu" (milk leakage/regurgitation). Simply use Chao Mai Ya (Fried Hordeum Vulgare Fructus) 3 qian, Ju Hong (Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae Rubrum) 1 qian, and Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos) 0.3 fen, decocted in water; it will stop immediately.
Xiao Ru Wan (Milk-Dissolving Pill): Warms the middle Jiao, relieves chest oppression, stops vomiting, and resolves milk food stagnation. A deep pulse indicates food stagnation and indigestion.
Ingredients: Xiang Fu Zi (Cyperi Rhizoma, fried, 2 liang), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, white pith removed, each 0.5 liang), Suo Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, fried), Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus, fried, each 1 liang).
Preparation: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Form pills using soaked snow ice water (or rice wash water/paste, note: original text "pao xue gao wan" is ambiguous, likely referring to a specific vehicle like rice paste or starch) resembling millet seeds. For children over seven years old, administer thirty pills the size of mung beans after meals, washed down with ginger soup.
Xiao Shi Wan (Food-Digesting Pill): Treats infants whose milk feeding and diet have been excessively cold, causing cold qi to accumulate in the Spleen and Stomach. The Stomach is the sea of water and grain; the Spleen grinds and digests it. When Stomach Qi is harmonious, milk and food are digested. If the Spleen is injured by cold, retained food does not digest. This formula relaxes the middle Jiao, promotes Qi movement, resolves milk and food stagnation, and improves complexion.
Ingredients: Suo Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus), Ju Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), San Leng (Sparganii Rhizoma, roasted), E Zhu (Curcumae Rhizoma, roasted), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, fried), Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus, fried, each 0.5 liang), Xiang Fu Zi (Cyperi Rhizoma, 1 liang, fried).
Preparation: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Form pills using wheat flour paste, the size of mung beans. After meals, take twenty pills washed down with Perilla Decoction.
Another Prescription: Treats regurgitation of milk due to excessive feeding, or green stools.
Usage: Take one cup of breast milk from a young woman, add ten grains of Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos) and one qian of Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Rubrum). Boil several times in a porcelain vessel. While slightly warm, suck it up using a cotton ball on an empty stomach.
Qingzhou Bai Wan Zi (Qingzhou White Pills): Treats all types of Wind-Phlegm syndromes and infantile convulsions.
Ingredients: Tian Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma, raw), Bai Fu Zi (Typhonii Rhizoma, raw, each 3 liang), Chuan Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, remove umbilical scar and tip skin, raw, 5 qian), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, peel removed, raw, 7 liang).
Preparation: Soak the above ingredients in well water. Change to fresh water early the next morning. Soak for five days in spring, three days in summer, seven days in autumn, and ten days in winter. Dry them and grind into fine powder. Use clarified glutinous rice porridge liquid to form pills the size of mung beans. For infantile convulsions, mix with Bo He Tang (Menthae Haplocalycis Decoction) and take orally. Taken together with Su He Xiang Wan (Styrax Pills), it is named Su Qing Wan.
Ban Xia San (Pinellia Powder): Treats infantile vomiting due to Stomach deficiency, where water and grain are not digested.
Ingredients: Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 1 liang, soaked seven times), Chen Nu Mi (Glutinous Rice, aged, 3 qian).
Preparation: Cut the above ingredients into coarse pieces for powder. Add five slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and one Zao (Jujubae Fructus), and decoct together.
[Qian Yi] Tie Fen Wan (Iron Powder Pill): Treats excessive salivation, tidal convulsions, and vomiting/reversal.
Ingredients: Shui Yin (Hydrargyrum, ground with cinnabar sand until dispersed, 2 qian), Zhu Sha (Cinnabaris, 1 fen), Tie Fen (Ferrum Pulveratum), Tian Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma, processed, peel and umbilical scar removed, taken as powder, each 1 fen), Qing Fen (Calomelas, 2 fen).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients together until the mercury is completely dispersed into fine particles. Form pills using Ginger Juice Paste, the size of millet seeds. Decoct Sheng Jiang Tang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens Decoction) and take fifteen to twenty-to-thirty pills at any time.
Fu Ling Ban Xia Tang (Poria and Pinellia Decoction): Treats various vomitings and hiccups, hardness and fullness below the heart, phlegm-fluid in the diaphragm causing dizziness and palpitations.
Ingredients: Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, soaked in boiling water, 5 qian), Bai Fu Ling (Poria, 2 liang, peeled).
Preparation: Cut the above ingredients into coarse pieces for powder. Take three qian per dose, add one cup of water and three slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct, strain, and take hot. No specific timing required.
Er Chen Tang (Two-Aged Decoction): Treats disorders caused by Phlegm-Fluid, or vomiting and nausea, or dizziness and palpitations, or discomfort in the epigastrium, or alternating chills and fever, or disharmony of the Spleen and Stomach due to consumption of cold and raw foods.
Ingredients: Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed in boiling water seven times), Ju Hong (Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae Rubrum, each 5 qian), Bai Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, 1.5 qian).
Preparation: Cut the above ingredients into coarse pieces for powder. Take three qian per dose, add one cup of water, three slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and one Wumei (Mume Fructus), and decoct together.
Bai Fu Yin (White Attitude Drink): Treats Liver Wind overcoming Spleen Earth, with abundant phlegm-saliva mixed with food and vomited out. Wind generates phlegm, and phlegm obstructs food, causing vomiting.
Ingredients: Bai Fu Zi (Typhonii Rhizoma), Nan Xing (Arisaematis Rhizoma, raw), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, raw), Chuan Wu (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, peel and umbilical scar removed, raw), Tian Ma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma, bright quality), Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, white pith removed), Nan Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Quan Xie (Scorpio, remove tail tip poison), Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus, remove silk), Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos, each 2 qian).
Preparation: Cut the above ingredients. Take two qian per dose, add one and a half cups of water and three slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Decoct slowly over low heat until reduced to seventy percent. Divide into five doses and take warm on an empty stomach.
