*Yijian Zhi* records: Treatment for Xiao Ke (Wasting and Thirsting Syndrome) accompanied by intestinal parasites.
Take a handful of the fresh white bark of *Toosendan Fructus* (Kuanlgen, 苦楝根), cut it, bake it, add a small amount of *Moschus* (Shexiang, 麝香), and decoct. Take on an empty stomach; even if the patient feels fatigued or distressed, it is not harmful. Expel three or four worms, resembling Ascaris lumbricoides (Hui Chong, 蛔虫).
The syndrome of Xiao Ke (Wasting and Thirsting Syndrome) can be caused by parasites consuming body fluids. Generally, drinking rich wine and eating roasted foods accumulate to form Stomach Heat; damp-heat generates parasites, which is theoretically sound. Clinicians should examine this carefully.
Treatment for abdominal pain and stomach pain, where pain occurs at specific times. ("Dry pain" refers to pain without vomiting or diarrhea. "At specific times" means pain occurs when hungry after eating bland food, but ceases when full; this indicates parasitic disease.)
Use Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄), Areca Seed (Binglang, 槟榔), and Alum (Baifan, 白矾) in equal parts. Form pills with rice paste. Take 5 fen per dose.
Realgar's pungent toxicity, Areca Seed's bitter descending nature, and Alum's sour and astringent properties are all substances that kill parasites; hence they are combined to treat this condition. (Wu Hegao stated: This is an ancient formula.)

*Jin Gui Yao Lue* records: Treatment for coldness in the lower abdomen of women, leading to long-term infertility. It also treats Bing Zhong Chu Xue (Metrorrhagia and Metrostaxis), excessive menstrual flow, or delayed menstruation. (*Jin Gui Yao Lue* states: A woman around fifty years old suffers from diarrhea for dozens of days without cessation. She experiences evening fever, urgency and fullness in the lower abdomen, vexatious heat in the palms, and dryness of the lips and mouth. Why? The answer is: This disease belongs to Dai Xia (Leukorrhea/Chronic Gynecological Disease). Why? Because she previously had a miscarriage, and blood stasis remains in the lower abdomen. How do we know? From the dryness of the lips and mouth... Person... Rise... Belongs... Also... No... Emit... Consequently, urgency and fullness in the lower abdomen; excessive downward discharge leads to Yin depletion in some cases; abdominal fullness indicates Spleen deficiency in others; vexatious heat in palms indicates Yin deficiency. If the lips and mouth are governed by Ying Qi, diarrhea should not present this way. However, given these symptoms combined with lower abdominal urgency/fullness and palm heat, it is clearly Blood Stasis with constrained Fire. Thus, the Heart manifests palm heat, and the Spleen manifests lip/mouth dryness. Therefore, it is said the symptom is dry lips/mouth. From this, one knows. The reason for using Wen Jing Tang is due to post-miscarriage deficiency, causing accumulated cold qi to knot, leading to stagnant blood that does not move. Therefore, use Dang Gui, Bai Shao, and Chuan Xiong to regulate blood; Wu Zhu Yu and Gui Zhi to warm the Qi of the blood level and move stasis. The Lung is the master of Qi; Mai Dong and E Jiao are used to tonify the root. Earth governs blood; Ren Shen and Gan Cao are used to tonify deficiency; Dan Pi is used to clear superficial heat. However, since diarrhea has persisted for a long time, Spleen Qi is damaged, so Sheng Jiang and Ban Xia are used to rectify Spleen Qi. Named Wen Jing Tang, it treats the root. Because it warms the meridians, it is indicated for any condition of deficiency-cold in the blood level causing irregularity.)
