龙麝聚神丹（出自《济生拔粹》）：治疗心脾客热之气，攻冲咽喉，导致红肿疼痛，或者形成喉疖，或者结成硬块不消散，痊愈后复发，经久不愈。或者舌根肿胀，满口生疮，饮食难以下咽，都适宜服用此药。

制法与用法：炼蜜为丸，如梧桐子大。饭后含化咽津。
沉香汤：治疗咽喉肿痛导致不能说话，突然感受风毒侵入喉间，舌头僵硬，头面身体疼痛，咽喉闭塞气息将绝的情况。
药材：沉香（锉碎）、木香、射干、防风（去叉）、甘草（炙）、当归（切后焙干）、黄芩（去黑心）、升麻、薰陆香、大黄。
制法与用法：上药捣筛为散。每服三钱，水一盏，煎至七分，食后温服。
丹砂玫瑰丸：治疗脾胃有热，风毒相乘，上攻咽喉导致肿痛。
药材：丹砂（二两，研细）、人参、硼砂（研细）、半夏（用生姜汁做成饼，晒干）、雄黄（研细，各半两）、麦门冬（去心，三分）、麝香（少许）。
制法与用法：炼蜜为丸，如梧桐子大。每服一丸，食后含化咽津。
犀角散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉毒气结塞疼痛，无法进食汤水，适宜服用。

三合汤：治疗喉痛，风毒积于脏腑，毒气随经络流传，虚行而止，在身而为肿，毒在咽喉为痛。
药材：升麻、桔梗（去芦）、甘草（各半两）。
制法与用法：上咀。每服三钱，水一盏，煎至七分，食后服之。
治喉痛方（出自《海上方》）：
用白矾半斤研细，水和匀。新砖一片，入矾水中浸，如水不干，取砖晒，复浸矾水，干，重复五日。入大便缸中浸一月，取出洗净，安阴处出硝，用鸡毛扫收。如喉痛服无不效。

铅霜散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉肿痛，风热上攻胸膈，心神烦热。
药材：铅霜（一分，细研）、磁石（一两，细研）、龙脑（一分，细研）、羚羊角屑（一两）、黄芩（一两，锉）、黄柏（一两，锉）。
制法与用法：上为散。每服一钱，冷水调下，不计时候。
龙脑散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉猝肿痛。
药材：龙脑（研，一分）、犀角（镑）、丹砂（研）、白药子（各三分）、真珠（研）、黄芩（锉）、甘草（炙，各半两）。
制法与用法：上为细末。每服一钱，温水调下。
治咽喉疼痛含咽丸：
药材：黄药、白药、栝蒌根、牛蒡子、马勃（以上各一两）、玄参（一两半）、砂糖（三两）、蜜（三两）。
制法与用法：上为末，炼蜜和丸，如弹子大。每服一丸，含化咽津。
马蔺根散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉猝肿痛，热毒在胸膈。
药材：马蔺根（二两）、川升麻（一两）、射干（一两半）、犀角屑（一两）、玄参（一两半）、木通（锉，一两）。
制法与用法：上咀。每服四钱，水一盏半，煎至八分，去滓，温服。
马牙硝丸（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉风毒肿痛，烦热不止，四肢不利，宜服，含化之。
药材：马牙硝（三分，细研）、犀角屑（一分）、川升麻（半两）、甘草（一分，炙微赤锉）、珍珠末（一分）。
制法与用法：上为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每服一丸，食后含化咽津。
治风毒咽水不下，及瘰疬肿方：
药材：升麻、芍药（各四两）、射干、杏仁、枫香、菖根、麻黄（各三两）、甘草（炙，二两）。
制法与用法：上咀。每服四钱，水一盏半，煎至八分，去滓，温服。
胜金散（出自《危氏方》）：治疗咽喉肿痛，气急，诸项等证。于内麝香旋入，有孕者，不可用麝香。
药材：郁金（三两）、大朱砂、南雄黄（其色胜如朱砂者，炒，各五钱）、麝香、干胭脂、绿豆粉（各二钱）。
制法与用法：上为细末。每服一钱，温水调下，立效。或吐痰涎。
天门冬丸（出自《御药院方》）：治疗上膈郁热，咽喉肿痛，唇焦舌干，腮颊生疮，解化痰毒，并宜服。
药材：天门冬（慢火炙）、玄参（汤洗焙干）、牛蒡子（炒，各一两）、百药煎、紫苏叶（各半两）、甘草（炙，一两）。
制法与用法：上为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每服二十丸，食后温水送下。
备急散：治疗咽喉肿痛生疮，涎堵水米难下。
药材：盆硝（四两）、紫河车、青黛（各半两）、蒲黄（一两）、甘草（二两）、薄荷（二两半）、僵蚕（三钱）。
制法与用法：上为细末。每服一钱，温水调下。
天门冬丸（一名硼砂丸，出自《王氏博济方》）：治疗上膈壅实，咽喉肿痛。
药材：天门冬（去心焙）、玄参（焙）、恶实（炒，各一两）、甘草（炙锉，一两半）、人参、硼砂（研）、龙脑（少许）。
制法与用法：上为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每服二十丸，食后温水送下。
射干丸（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉肿痛，水浆不入。
药材：射干（半两）、柑皮（半两）、山大豆、黄药子、硝石（研）、甘草（炙锉，各一分）、升麻（半两）。

乳香丸：治疗咽喉肿痛，喉痹，及咽喉诸疾。
药材：乳香（研）、石亭脂（研）、阿魏、密陀僧、安息香（各一分）、砒霜（研，半分）、麝香（研，半两）。
制法与用法：上为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每服一丸，含化。
含化升麻丸（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗咽喉肿痛，热在脾肺，上焦壅滞，心神烦闷，宜服。
药材：川升麻（一分）、川大黄（一分，锉微炒）、玄参（炒，一分）、甘草（半两，炙微赤锉）、射干（一分）。

制法与用法：上为细末。每服一钱，温水调下，不计时候。
治咽喉肿痛，急慢喉痹，悬痈乳蛾，咽物不下方：
药材：诃子（一两，醋浸一宿去核晒）、黄芩（五钱，醋浸一宿晒）、胆矾（一钱）、明矾（一钱半）、牛蒡子（炒，一两）。
制法与用法：上为细末。吹在喉中。若舌上生用药吹之口中，立去痰涎。
硼砂丸（出自《和剂方》）：治疗大人小儿风壅膈热，咽喉肿痛，舌颊生疮，口干烦渴。
药材：麝香（一两，研）、硼砂（研，十两）、甘草（浸汁熬膏，十两）、牙硝（枯研，二两）、梅花脑（别研，一分）。
制法与用法：上为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大。每服一丸，含化咽津。
龙脑散（出自《御药院方》）：治疗咽喉肿痛，皆因风热在于脾肺，邪毒蕴滞，胸膈不利，故发疼痛。
药材：硼砂、脑子、朱砂（各一两）、滑石（水飞，半两）、石膏（碎，二两）、甘草（生取末，半钱）。
制法与用法：上为细末。每服一钱，温水调下。
龙脑饮：治疗蕴积邪热，咽喉肿痛，口疮，目赤鼻衄，多渴，痰饮咳嗽，中暑烦躁，一切风壅。
药材：甘草（一两半）、砂仁（三钱）、藿香（一分）、山栀子（一两二钱）、天花粉（三钱）、石膏（半两）、碧玉散（适量）。
制法与用法：上为粗末。每服三钱，水一盏，煎至七分，去滓，温服。
乌犀膏（出自《永类钤方》）：治疗咽喉肿痛，一切结喉烂喉，遁虫缠喉，闭喉急喉，飞丝入喉，重舌。
药材：皂荚（二条，捶碎，水二升，一时汁，去滓，瓦器内熬成膏子）、好酒（一合）、人参（为末）、百草霜（适量）。
制法与用法：斟酌拌和。方歇，良久，恶物出尽为度，却嚼甘草二寸，咽汁。若木舌，先以粗布蘸水，揩舌令软，次用姜片搽之，然后用药扫咽喉，神效。
络石射干汤：治疗咽喉肿痛，咽物不得。
药材：络石（三分）、射干（一两半）、芍药、升麻（各一两一分）、露蜂房（炙）、蒺藜子（炒去角，各一两）。
制法与用法：上咀。每服四钱，水一盏半，煎至八分，去滓，温服。后临卧服。
五香饮：治疗咽喉肿痛。
药材：沉香、木香、鸡舌香、薰陆香（各一两）、麝香（三分，锉）、连翘（二两）。
制法与用法：上除五香，各捣研为末。每服一钱，温水调下。
麻黄汤：治疗风热客于脾肺经，喉间肿痛，语不出。
药材：麻黄（去根节）、干姜（炮，各二两）、细辛（去苗叶，一两半）、五味子（炒，一两半）、桂枝（去粗皮，半两）。
制法与用法：上咀。每服四钱，水一盏半，煎至八分，去滓，温服。食后服。
The meridian of Foot-Taiyin (Spleen) belongs to the Spleen, connects with the Stomach, ascends through the diaphragm, flanks the pharynx, and connects with the root of the tongue. The branch of the meridian of Foot-Yangming (Stomach) descends from the front of Daying (ST5) to Renying (ST9), following the throat.
Longshe Jushen Dan (Dragon Musk Gathering Spirit Pill) [Source: *Jisheng Bacuì*]: Treats guest-heat in the Heart and Spleen attacking the pharynx, causing redness, swelling, and pain; or forming throat boils; or forming hard lumps that do not dissipate; recurring after healing; lingering without recovery; or swelling of the tongue root; sores all over the mouth; difficulty swallowing food and drink. It is suitable for all these conditions.
Herbs: Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong Radix, 0.5 liang), Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xijiao Xie), Antelopis Cornu (Lingyangjiao), Succinum (Nan Hupo, crushed), Scrophulariae Radix (Nan Xuanshen), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) (each 0.5 liang), Natrii Sulfas (Maya Xiao, purified, 0.5 liang).

Qudu Niuhuang Gao (Detoxifying Calculus Bovis Ointment) [Source: *Yuyao Yuanfang*]: Treats adults and children with pharyngeal swelling and pain, stiffness of the tongue root, sores all over the mouth, excessive salivation, rapid breathing, and chest discomfort.
Herbs: Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, crushed, 2.5 qian), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 1 liang), Succinum (Nan Hupo), Borax (Nan Pengsha), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xijiao Xie, finely crushed), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), dried Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Gan Dihuang) (each 0.5 liang), Plumbi Subcarbonas (Qianbaishuang, purified, 7 qian).

Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve. Take 3 qian per dose, decoct in 1 sheng water until 0.7 sheng remains, take warm after meals.
Dansha Meigui Wan (Cinnabar Rose Pill): Treats heat in the Spleen and Stomach, multiplied by wind-toxin, attacking upwards causing pharyngeal swelling and pain.
Herbs: Cinnabar (Dansha, 2 liang, crushed), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), Borax (Pengsha, crushed), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia, made into cakes with Ginger Juice and dried), Realgar (Xionghuang, crushed, each 0.5 liang), Ophiopogonis Tuber (Maimendong, heart removed, 3 fen), Moschus (Shexiang, a small amount).

Herbs: Isatidis Folium (Daqing, 1 liang), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 0.5 liang), Paris Polyphylla (Zaoxiu, 0.5 liang), Dioscoreae Bulbiferae (Huangyao, 0.5 liang, sliced), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, whiskers removed, 0.5 liang), Rosa Multiflora Root Bark (Qiangweigenpi, 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder, mix with refined honey and pound 200-300 times, form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 20 pills per dose after meals with warm water.
Pengsha San (Borax Powder) [Source: *Yuyao Yuanfang*]: Treats wind-heat toxin in the Heart surging to cause pharyngeal sores, swelling, and pain; or wooden tongue with swelling; or purple tongue with swelling and blockage, preventing intake of liquids.
Herbs: Borax (Nan Pengsha, 3 liang), Poria (Baifuling, peel removed), Amomi Fructus (Suosharen), Talcum (Huashi Mo), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie Sui), Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix (Shandougen), Scrophulariae Radix (Nan Xuanshen), Cyathulae Radix (Guanzhong), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (equal parts).

Preparation and Administration: Cut into pieces. Take 3 qian per dose, decoct in 1 sheng water until 0.7 sheng remains, take after meals.
Formula for Treating Sore Throat [Source: *Haishang Fang*]:
Use 0.5 jin of Alum (Baifan), grind finely, mix with water. Soak a new brick in the alum water. If it dries, sun-dry the brick, then soak again. Repeat this for five days. Then soak in a latrine pit for one month. Take out, wash clean, place in a shady place to crystallize nitre. Collect with a chicken feather broom. Effective for sore throats.
Formula for Treating Pharyngeal Swelling and Pain, Mouth Sores, Highly Effective for All Types of Swelling and Toxins:
Use 1 liang of Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), finely slice, decoct in 1 sheng water, reduce to thick juice, and take.
Formula for Treating Pharyngeal Pain:
Use Purple-backed Dragon Tooth Grass (Zibei Longya Cao), hold in mouth and swallow. Effective.
Yellow Ointment for Treating Pharyngeal and Neck External Swelling [Source: *Shenghui Fang*]:
Herbs: Momordicae Semen (Mubiezi, 10 seeds), Trichosanthes Radix (Tugua Gen, 1 liang), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 0.5 liang, whiskers removed), Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai, 1 liang, sliced), Trichosanthis Radix (Gualou Gen, 2 liang), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 1 liang, sliced), Calomelas (Qingfen, 1 qian, finely ground).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder, add a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang), mix well, combine with pig fat to form ointment. Apply to affected area.
Luoshi Ye Yin (Trachelospermum Leaf Drink) [Source: *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats wind-toxin causing pharyngeal swelling and pain, heat-toxic qi attacking the chest and heart causing fullness and oppression.

Renshen Qingfei San (Ginseng Lung-Clearing Powder) [Source: *Yuyao Yuanfang*]: Treats dysfunction of Spleen and Lungs, wind-heat attacking causing pharyngeal swelling and pain, difficulty and oppression when swallowing. This medicine is suitable.
Herbs: Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, radicle removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, raw), Gardeniae Fructus (Shanzhizi), Natrii Sulfas (Penxiao) (each 1 liang), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe Ye), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, cleaned), Rheum Palmatum (Chuan Dahuang, raw, each 1 liang).

Qingjin San (Blue Gold Powder) [Source: *Yuyao Yuanfang*]: Treats guest-heat in Heart and Lungs attacking upwards causing pharyngeal swelling, pain, and sores, tongue root stiffness, oppression and difficulty in movement. Suitable for use.
Herbs: Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe, 2 liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 7.5 qian, roasted), Hundred Medication Brew (Baiyaojian, 0.5 liang), Borax (Nan Pengsha, 1 liang, separately crushed), Human Placenta (Ziheche, 2.5 qian), Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai, 1.5 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose mixed with warm water.
Jiangmi Jian (Ginger-Honey Decoction): Treats severe throat bi swelling, loss of voice.
Treats pharyngeal swelling and pain, phlegm-heat above the diaphragm. Treat early upon sensation to prevent formation of throat bi; even if slow, effect can be achieved.
Usage: Hold Borax (Pengsha) in mouth, dissolve and swallow saliva. Another formula for throat bi: grind Borax into powder, mix with water and swallow.
Formula for Treating Wind-Heat Obstructing Upwards Causing Pharyngeal Swelling and Pain:
Use Goose Embracing Grass (Ebao Cao), shade-dry and sieve into powder, mix with wine and take. Effective.
Xijiao San (Rhino Horn Powder) [Source: *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats pharyngeal pain, alternating chills and fever in limbs, congestion of phlegm-fluid, irritability, headache.
Herbs: Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xijiao Xie, 3 fen), Natrii Sulfas (Maya Xiao, 1 liang), Alum (Baifan, 1 fen), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Chuan Shengma, 3 fen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 0.5 liang, raw and sliced), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng, 0.5 liang).
