Asthmatic cough (Xiao Sou), also known as "chirping cough" (Xi Sou). Phlegm and saliva stagnate between the throat and larynx, causing restless wheezing and coughing. In severe cases, the body shakes, the abdomen rolls, there is upward rushing of Qi with rapid breathing, sweating on the head, and coldness of the body.

Arsenic Trioxide (Pi Shuang) (1 qian), Wheat Flour (Mian) (1 qian), Sepiae Endoconcha (Hai Piao Xiao) (1 qian). Ground into powder, mixed with water to form cakes, slowly roasted over low fire until yellow, then ground fine. Take 1 qian per dose.

After eating, if tea stains remain, burn to ash, mix with boiling water, take cold. Or take with cold aged green tea liquor. For the elderly, use Pinellia Tuber (Ban Xia) five grains and a large piece of Ginger (Sheng Jiang), pound together to extract natural juice, swallow. This can prevent recurrence forever.

Jiyu Wan (from *Jia Cang Jing Yan Fang*), treats lung meridian long-term pathogenic invasion, causing cough and rapid asthma. Initial onset features cold rising from the back, cold as ice and snow, gradually becoming short of breath, back stiffness, tired eyes, exhaustion nearing death.
