Guifeng Tang (Stomach Wind Decoction): Treats wind-pathogen invading the uterine gate, or affecting the meridians and collaterals, spreading to the zang-fu organs, resulting in leukorrhea of five colors. (This formula is similar to Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten Complete Tonifying Decoction), but lacks Gancao (Licorice Root), [missing character], and Shudi Huang (Prepared Rehmannia Root), because sweet flavors are considered to slow down the stomach and generate dampness, hence they are omitted. However, there are no wind-dispelling herbs in it, yet it claims to treat wind-pathogen entering the uterus; why is it named "Stomach Wind"?)
Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (equal parts).
Crush the ingredients. Take 8 qian per dose, add a pinch of Setaria italica (millet), decoct with water, and take orally. If abdominal pain occurs, add Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix); Wuji San (Five Accumulations Powder) without Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) can also be used.
Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction): Treats leukorrhea of five colors caused by wind-pathogen. (Xiao Chaihu Tang is a formula for the Shaoyang (Lesser Yang) stage; stating it treats wind-pathogen implies that heat in the Liver and Gallbladder generates wind?)
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (2 qian), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Gancao (Licoriciae Radix et Rhizoma) (1 qian each).
Crush the ingredients. Add 3 slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and 2 dates (Jujubae Fructus), decoct with water, and take orally. If the discharge is green, indicating Liver involvement, add Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix); if red, indicating Heart involvement, add Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix); if white, indicating Lung involvement, use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) plus Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus); if yellow, indicating Spleen involvement, use Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) plus Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix); if ineffective, use Guipi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction); if black, indicating Kidney involvement, use Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia).
Cangbai Xiongxiong San (Cangzhu, Phellodendron, Ginseng, and Ligusticum Powder): Treats women with head wind and nasal discharge above, and leukorrhea below. (This is another formula from Master Danxi.)
Xinyi (Magnoliae Flos), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Tianxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma Preparatum), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Huashi (Talcum), Muli (Ostreae Concha), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (stir-fried with wine).
Decoct with water and take after meals. (Using Huangqin, Xinyi, and Chuanxiong to treat head wind, and Cangzhu, Huangbai, Tianxing, Banxia, Huashi, and Muli to treat leukorrhea is straightforward and unpretentious, making it worthy of emulation.)
Diyu San (Sanguisorba Powder): Treats metrorrhagia of five colors and twelve types of leukorrhea. (This is an astringent agent for the lower jiao; however, decocting 3 liang with vinegar yields a single-herb method. If it truly cures the twelve types of leukorrhea, it addresses a specific family of diseases.) It also treats vomiting and hematochezia/hematemesis.
Diyu (Sanguisorbae Radix) (3 liang).
Crush finely. Boil in half a sheng of vinegar and half a sheng of water for more than ten boils, strain, and take one ge while slightly warm before meals. The commentary in Bencao states: Diyu treats twelve diseases of leukorrhea: first, excessive red discharge; second, excessive white discharge; third, amenorrhea; fourth, vaginal erosion; fifth, firmness of the uterus; sixth, stenosis of the cervical os; seventh, pain during intercourse; eighth, cold pain in the lower abdomen; ninth, closure of the cervical os; tenth, cold uterus; eleventh, nocturnal emission/sexual dreams; twelfth, fixed disorders of the five zang organs.
