The pulse is large and forceful on the surface but empty upon heavy pressure, indicating Qi deficiency and Blood deficiency. If Baibu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is mistakenly administered, death will ensue; this formula should be used as the primary treatment.

Note: This formula belongs to the Shaoyang Foot, Jueyin Foot, Shaoyin Hand, and Taiyin Hand channels. It originates from the Shaoyang channel examples and is also considered a coercive agent (strong purgative/attacking remedy).

Note: This formula belongs to the Taiyin Hand channel and is a Qi and Blood tonic. However, if Qi is disordered in the chest, causing turbid and clear energies to interfere with each other, Qi-regulating herbs must be added to manage it. One need not strictly adhere to this formula. For instance, when Qi and fluids are depleted and Yin blood is exhausted, ancient formulas include using Wumei, Gejie (gecko), Zhu Shen (pig kidney), spinal cord, and human feces, which are all valid methods.
