Diseases of the head and face are treated by needling Zhiyin (BL67); diseases of the legs and feet are sought at Fengfu (GV16); diseases of the chest and heart are drained at Shaofu (HT8); diseases of the umbilicus and abdomen are needled at Ququan (LR8). Various diseases of the shoulders and back are treated below Zhongzhu (TE3); stiffness and pain of the waist and knees rely on Jiaoxin (KI8); pain in the hypochondrium and legs is excellent with Houxi (SI3); swelling of the thighs and knees is drained at Taichong (LR3). When hernia of the yin manifests with swelling as large as a sheng (unit of measure), the Baihui (GV20) acupoint is truly astonishing. For headache at the vertex with inability to open the eyes, needling Yongquan (KI1) ensures peace and health. For crane-knee disease (knee swelling and wasting making movement difficult), Chize (LU5) can relieve bone and tendon pain; adding Quchi (LI11) is wonderful, tracing the source allows for regulation; if the patient wishes to recover quickly, Fengfu (GV16) can also be needled. Furthermore, for spasticity and urgency of the arms, deep needling of Chize (LU5) removes numbness; for spastic wind affecting the waist and back, Quchi (LI11) is attacked at one cun five fen. The cause of the five types of hemorrhoids is hot blood; needling Chengshan (BL57) makes the disease vanish. When asthma attacks preventing sleep, Fenglong (ST40) is inserted three cun (or three inches). With delirium, night sweats, and seeing ghosts, Xingxing (alertness) is achieved by needling Jianshi (PC5). For cold bones and marrow, fire moxibustion is used; Lingdao (HT4) is a wonderful acupoint clearly recorded. Malaria with chills and heat is truly fearful; one must know deficiency and excess and apply intent; Jianshi (PC5) should be extended to reach Zhigou (TE6), and Dazhui (GV14) with seven moxa cones conforms to sage treatment; if it occurs frequently day after day without stopping, Jinmen (BL63) is needled deeply seven fen.
