Lei Gong Zhen Jun (Deity Lei Gong) said: For any person, regardless of whether they are ill or healthy, if they suddenly sweat profusely like rain and cannot stop, it is called Wang Yang (collapse of Yang Qi). When the sweat is exhausted, only the breath remains unextinguished. This is a critically dangerous syndrome. If one uses antiperspirant herbs because of the sweating, the sweat will not stop; if one uses blood-nourishing herbs because the sweat has ceased, the blood will be difficult to generate rapidly. At this point, urgent supplementation of Qi is necessary, and recovery is still possible. However, for Qi-supplementing herbs, there is no substitute for Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma). The prescription used is Shou Han Sheng Yang Tang (Sweat-Stopping and Yang-Generating Decoction): Ren Shen 1 liang, Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) 1 liang, Bei Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus) 3 qian, Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) 1 liang, Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) 5 qian, Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) 1 liang, Chao Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen) 5 qian, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian. Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, the sweating stops; after two doses, the Qi recovers; after three doses, the Qi becomes robust; after four doses, the body is healthy. The brilliance of this formula lies in supplementing both Qi and Blood, with particular emphasis on Qi, so that sufficient Qi can generate Yang. When Yang is robust, Yin also generates. Although the syndrome of Wang Yang involves the loss of Yang, the root cause is actually Yin deficiency failing to secure Yang, leading to the escape of Yang Qi. If Yin were sufficient to secure Yang, even if sweating occurred, how could it lead to Wang Yang? Therefore, when treating Wang Yang, how can one merely focus on rescuing Yang? I rescue Yang while simultaneously rescuing Yin.
Lei Gong Zhen Jun said: When people contract heat pathogens in summer and autumn and suffer from dysentery accompanied by bloody stools, occurring more than a hundred times a day without cessation, the condition is extremely critical. Using cold-natured herbs to stop bleeding and purgative herbs to attack pathogens are not good methods. I have a miraculous formula that can save emergencies and rescue critical conditions without damaging Qi and Blood, stopping the dysentery and restoring health. The formula used is Yuan Jue Shen Dan (Miraculous Pill for Rescuing the Desperate): Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) 2 liang, Dang Gui 2 liang, Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus) 2 qian, Bing Lang (Arecae Semen) 2 qian, Gan Cao 2 qian, Hua Shi (Talcum) powder 3 qian, Guang Mu Xiang (Costi Radix) 1 qian, Luo Bo Zi (Raphani Semen) 1 qian. Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, symptoms lighten; after two doses, the dysentery stops; after three doses, full recovery is achieved. The brilliance of this formula lies in using large doses of Bai Shao and Dang Gui (up to 2 liang each), ensuring abundant Liver Blood. With excess Liver Blood, there is no excessive restriction on Spleen Earth, allowing Spleen Qi to have the potential for growth and development, thereby naturally enabling the Large Intestine to perform its function of conduction. Additionally, Zhi Ke, Bing Lang, and Luo Bo Zi are miraculous herbs for expelling turbidity and removing accumulation, particularly capable of employing purgation within tonification. Meanwhile, Hua Shi, Gan Cao, and Mu Xiang harmonize the pace, neither too fast nor too slow, ensuring that all stagnation is expelled downward without leaving internal hazards. For minor cases of dysentery, such high dosages are unnecessary; halving the dose yields equally effective results. It is effective regardless of whether it is red dysentery or white dysentery, painful or painless.
