The medical classics state: For conditions characterized by sinking/prolapse, employ lifting methods; for conditions characterized by slipping/incontinence, employ astringent methods. Ancient physicians generally attributed this to Qi deficiency with internal heat; others believed it was due to excessive heat in the Large Intestine causing prolapse; still others argued that since the Large Intestine and Lung are exterior-interior paired organs, if heat accumulates in the Lung Meridian, it leads to anal constipation (obstruction), whereas deficiency-cold leads to slipping and inability to retract. Additionally, it may be caused by excessive straining or occurring after dysentery; one must carefully deduce whether it is a cold or heat pattern to determine treatment. This condition occurs frequently in children.
Main Formula: Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix, stir-fried with wine), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (each 1 qian); Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Zhigancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata) (each 0.5 qian). Add fresh ginger and jujube, decoct in water, and take on an empty stomach.
For deficiency patterns, add Renshen (Ginseng Radix) and Huangqi (Astragali Radix); for heat patterns, add Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) and Lianzi (Coptidis Rhizoma); for slipping/prolapse, double the dosage of Shengma and add Hezi (Terminalia Chebulae Fructus) and Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis), formed into pills with vinegar paste.
Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Formula see "Xu Sun" chapter): Treats prolapse caused by diarrhea/dysentery, severe illness, and postpartum conditions.
Huaiyu Wan (Formula see "Xue Men" chapter): Treats rectal prolapse.
Simple Method: For elderly and children with prolapse. Decoct Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), or lotus pod shells, oak cupule shells, and wash externally.
Alternatively, wash with Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) solution, then apply crushed Yuxingcao (Houttuyniae Herba) under the anus; or apply fried Duan Shi (Calamina) wrapped under the anus; or wash with Hezi and Mingfan (Alumen); or wash with Sangye (Mori Folium) and Tao Ye (Persicae Folium) decoction, then apply pounded Bimaren (Ricini Semen) to the Baihui acupoint on the vertex.
Alternatively, use Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubrum) or Hezi, or Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae), Muzei (Equiseti Hiemalis Herba [burned]), or Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Ruangushao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Huashi (Talcum), grind into powder, sprinkle on grass paper, warm it, and manually reduce the prolapse; or burn dust from roof beams and mouse droppings in a bucket to fumigate upwards to induce retraction.
(Attachment: Axillary Osmosis / Fox Odor)
This syndrome belongs to stagnant heat in the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. There is an orifice in the axilla discharging foul odor. Rubbing with substances like Kufan (Alumen) and Shexiang (Moschus) only provides temporary relief; long-term administration of Liver-soothing medications is required for cure. A Guan pulse that is wiry, rapid, full, and large indicates Axillary Osmosis.
Main Formula: Longdancao (Gentianae Radix), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride) (equal parts). Decoct in water and take. Or take Danggui Longdan Wan.
Quhui San: Treats body odor (Axillary Osmosis). External methods can remove the root; internally, take this medicine. Take 0.5 fen each time, mixed with ginger decoction, until foul toxins are discharged.
Ingredients: Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (3 qian), Tanxiang Mo (Santalum Album Wood Powder) (1 qian), Binglang (Arecae Semen) (0.8 fen), Qingmuxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos) (each 0.3 fen). Grind into fine powder, add 2 fen of Shexiang (Moschus), and take.
Root-Removal Method: First shave the axillary hair, apply a mixture of Qianfen (Lead Carbonate) and water to the area. After several days, a small pore will appear, which is the exit for the air. Use moxa cones the size of rice grains, moxibustion 7 zhuang. When the pore heals, the condition is cured.
Simple Method: Mituo seng (Arsenolite), ground with Shexiang (Moschus), mixed with water and applied. Immediately press a hot steamed cake against the armpit, then discard it after a short while.
Alternatively, at dawn (Wugeng), sandwich two large slices of lean pork mixed with Gansu powder (1 liang) between the armpits; at daybreak, drink juice decocted from Gancao (Licorice Root) (1 liang). Bury the discharged foul matter in the ground immediately to prevent transmission. Alternatively, rub with powder made of Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Kufan (Alumen), Huangdan (Minii Litharge), and Huajiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium); or apply paste made from Yeming Sha (Typhodii Spora) and ginger juice.
