(If there is) stagnation. Remove Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas). Double the dosage of Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix). To disperse wind from Xuanfu (micro-pores and qi/mechanism exit points). One should regulate Yingwei (Ying-Qi and Wei-Qi). Commonly known as "Fengci" (Wind Pricking). Or it may produce Yin zhen (Urticaria/Hives). Either red or white. Double the dosage of Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Yanchi (Salt-fermented Sojae Semen Preparatum), and Congbai (Allii Cepae Bulbus) to induce sweating. Mahuang should have its nodes removed. Also remove Mangxiao. Because salty substances travel to the blood level and cause internal coagulation/stagnation, thus they cannot induce sweating. After sweating ceases, following the previous formula's principle, add Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) and Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for Resolving Toxicity). Mix these three medicines together and drink them. Take twice a day. Thus, the *Neijing* states: "Use bitter substances to disperse." This refers to heat located in the muscle layer extending inward. Dysuria with strangury and obstruction. Remove Mahuang. Add Shishi (Talcum) and Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus). Decoct the medicine and mix with Muxiang powder (Aucklandiae Radix Powder), 2 qian. Mahuang primarily addresses exterior conditions, not interior ones. Therefore, remove it. For pain in the waist and hypochondrium that wanders and radiates: add Xiaoshi (Nitrums), Danggui, and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), each 2 qian per dose. Mix with Cheqianzi powder (Plantaginis Semen Powder) and Haijinsha (Lygodii Spora), each 1 qian. The *Neijing* states: "The waist is the mansion of the Kidney." For Tetanus (Po Shang Feng): If the pathogen is in the exterior, use pungent substances to disperse it; if in the interior, use bitter substances to purge it. Combine with dispersing methods. After sweating and purging, unblock Qi and Blood. Expel wind pathogens. In every liang of the base formula, add Jingjiesui (Schizonepetae Spica) and Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), each 2 qian. Mix with Quanxie powder (Scorpion Powder), 1 qian. For various wind-induced convulsions. Pediatric acute and chronic epilepsy (Ji Man Jing Feng). Constipation. Sudden severe evil heat. Dryness of the intestines and stomach. Nocturnal sweating, teeth grinding, upward deviation of eyes, somniloquy. Tendon twitching, fright palpitations. Muscle tremors. In every liang of the base formula, add Dahuang, 2 qian. Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), 2 qian. Mix with Fuling (Poria), 2 qian. If there are muscle tremors: mix with Qianghuo powder (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix Powder), 1 qian. Thus, the classics state: "Muscle tremors are named slight wind." Wind injuring the Lung. Cough and asthma with urgency. In every liang of the base formula, add Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), and Ziwan (Astrotanthi Herba), each 2 qian. If due to falls and blows/injuries. Pain in limbs and joints. Evil blood in the abdomen not descending. In every liang of the base formula, add Danggui and Dahuang, each 3.5 qian. Mix with Moyao powder (Myrrhae Resina Powder) and Ruxiang powder (Olibani Resina Powder), each 2 qian. To resolve seasonal Cold Damage (Shang Han). And injuries from internal and external causes. In every liang of the base formula, add Yi Yuan San (Benefit Prime Powder), 1 liang. Congbai, 10 stalks. Yanchi, 1 he. Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), half liang. Water, one bowl. Decoct together until five to seven boils. Or decoct into a small bowl. Take half while warm or cold. Use a tendon to stimulate vomiting. After vomiting, take the remaining half. Warm it slightly before taking. Upon sweating, the condition resolves immediately. If stroke occurs after drinking alcohol. Body heat and headache as if breaking. Add Huanglian Xu (Coptidis Rhizoma Stamen), 2 qian. Congbai, 10 stalks. Follow this method for immediate recovery. Do not use Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) or Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction) to release the exterior. Vertigo and brain heat. Nasal congestion. Continuous discharge of turbid nasal mucus. In every liang, add Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) and Huanglian, each 2.5 qian. The *Neijing* states: "When Gallbladder heat transfers to the Brain, it causes Biyuan (Nasal Obstruction/Anosmia)." Biyuan is characterized by continuous discharge of turbid nasal mucus. Wang Bing's commentary states: "When Gallbladder heat transfers to the Brain, brain fluid seeps downward becoming turbid mucus. The mucus flows endlessly like a spring. Hence it is called Biyuan." This is because both the Foot-Taiyang Meridian and the Yangming Meridian are flourishing. If there is rebellious Qi: mix with Muxiang powder, 1 qian.
