Prescription for epigastric stagnation and accumulation with wandering pain. Evodia Fruit powder (Wuzhuyu Mo, 吴茱萸末), one sheng; "Zhen She" (True Arrow) the size of a bullet. Grind together, bind with egg white to form pills size of small beans. Take two pills, immediate cure.
Prescription for heart pain with excessive salivation, resembling parasitic infection. Take hearts of six domestic animals, cut raw into fourteen pieces, slice crosswise. Insert one liang of real cinnabar (Zhen Dan, 真丹) into the cuts. Swallow all in the morning. Adding Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) and Musk (Shexiang, 麝香) is better.
Heart pain occurring when hungry is called Ji Shan (Hunger Hernia). Gentian Root (Longdan, 龙胆), Processed Aconite Root (Paofuzi, 炮附子), and Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian, 黄连) in equal parts. Grind and sieve. Take one qian-bi, three times daily.

*Yao Xing Lun* treats heart pain, evil invasion, or pain extending to waist and umbilicus. Salt the size of a chicken egg. Wrap in green cloth, heat until red-hot, put in wine. Take all at once; should vomit evil substances.
*Shi Yi* preface mentions Corydalis Rhizome (Yanhusuo, 延胡索) stops heart pain. Grind into powder, take with wine.
*Sheng Hui Fang* treats chronic heart pain, irregular onset, frequent vomiting of clear fluid, inability to eat. Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄), two liang; good vinegar, two sheng. Slowly boil into paste. Mix with steamed dry cake to form pills size of sophora seeds. Take seven pills, down with ginger soup.
Another prescription: Treats nine types of heart pain causing stifling sensation. Cinnamon Heart (Guixin, 桂心), one fen, ground. Decoct in one large cup of wine until half cup remains. Strain, take slightly warm; immediate effect.
Another prescription: Treats cold hernia heart pain, cold limbs, complete loss of appetite. Cinnamon Heart (Guixin, 桂心), two liang, ground. Take one qian-bi with hot wine at any time.
*Waitai Miyao* treats sudden heart pain. Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, 干姜), ground. Take one qian with water.
Another prescription: Treats heart pain. Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui, 当归), ground. Take one cun-bi with wine.
*Bi Xiao* treats heart pain. Bear bile, size of a soybean. Take with water; highly effective.
Another prescription: Take eel, roast lightly until cooked. Give patient one or two to eat; permanent cure. Better if eaten until full.
*Jing Yan Fang* treats forty-year chronic heart pain. Foxtail Millet (Shumi, 黍米), wash and collect juice. Take warm, amount as needed.
*Jing Yan Hou Fang* treats heart pain. Curcuma Longa Rhizome (Jianghuang, 姜黄), one liang; Cinnamon Pith (Guirang, 桂穣), three liang. Grind into powder, take one qian-bi with vinegar soup.
*Jian Yao Ji Zhong* treats nine types of heart pain and abdominal/flank stagnation. Dry lacquer (Ganqi, 干漆), two liang. Grind, stir-fry until smoke appears, fine grind, boil in vinegar, bind with flour paste to form pills size of sophora seeds. Take five to seven pills with hot wine or vinegar soup, anytime.
Yao Hezhong treats sudden heart pain. Thirty-seven Prunus japonica kernels (Yuliren, 郁李仁), chew thoroughly, swallow with fresh well water. Drinking warm water afterwards is excellent. Pain stops shortly after. Then drink thin salt soup warm.
*Bingbu Shouji* treats unbearable heart pain lasting five to ten years, effective instantly. Boil small garlic in strong vinegar, take all at once until full. Do not add salt.
