〔万〕凡痘疮轻者其本疏，其毒微，其证顺，自然易靥，无余毒也。重者其本密，其毒盛，其证险，自难
出难靥，有余毒也。逆者或伏，或倒陷，或倒靥，幸脾胃素强，调治又早，不至大困，亦作余毒。钱氏云∶
其病有三，一者疥，二者痈，三者
目赤。以证求之，尚不止此，亦有出已尽，发已透，靥已齐者，复作余毒，此由温补之过，饮食之失而得之。故
治痘后余毒，或补，或发散，或解利，要在分表里，论虚实，不可一概妄投汤剂也。
〔海〕 疮余毒，或肝虚入眼目。或肺虚为癣疥。或为痈疖，发在骨节，肾之虚也。发在肌肉、脾之虚也。
或在筋，或在头，或在面，或牙齿疳蚀，或咽喉肿痛，各随经而见，皆毒不散，蕴积而成。或病患始不早治，或
医者失治，遗于经络，其所由来，盖有自矣。宜服解毒等剂。
〔世〕痘毒攻脾则泄泻身浮，攻肝则眼生翳膜，攻心则烦躁啼哭，攻肾则耳疼脓聚，攻肺则咳嗽痰涎。
〔洁〕若已发后，有余毒未散，复有身热疮肿之类，当茶粉下解毒丸。
〔丹〕治小儿痘疮，余毒未散，食谷太早，补住毒瓦斯。
鼠粘子（六钱） 甘草（五分） 犀角 白术（各三钱） 荆芥 防风 枳壳（各一钱）
水煎，温服。
活血解毒汤 治余毒。
防风 荆芥 生地黄 赤芍药 当归 连翘 牛蒡子 黄连 紫草 甘草 苍术 薄荷 川芎 木通
各等分，水煎服。
【痈疖】此由毒瓦斯留藏经络，故于肌肉虚处，或关节动摇处，红肿而成痈。又或既平之后，失于解利，
余毒大盛，外不得泄于皮肤，内不得入于脏腑，聚而不去，遂为之痈。如毒瓦斯浅者，止生结核、肿毒、疮疖
而已，甚者至头项胸胁手足肢节，尽 肿作痛，但发一二处，或根浅者可治。若流注起伏，根深蔓引者，小
则溃筋脱骨，必为残废之疾，甚则绵延日久而死。〔丹〕痘痈多是实毒血热成痈，分上下用药，一日不可
缓，成脓必用清热凉血为主，赤芍药、甘草节、连翘、桔梗之类，上引用升麻、葛根，下引用槟榔、牛膝，
更助以贝母、忍冬草、白芷、栝蒌，大便燥用大黄，寒热用芩、柏，此法累效。〔薛〕前证初起未成脓者，
用活命饮、隔蒜灸、治而消之。欲成脓者，用活命饮解而溃之。气血虚者，八珍汤（虚羸）实而溃之。虚
而不能敛者，托里散补而敛之。大凡发热肿痛，大便不结，用仙方活命饮及隔蒜灸法。大
便秘结，用仙方活命饮加大黄。大便已通，肿痛未退，再用活命饮一服，用托里散
补其元气。若发热倦怠，大便调和，用补中益气汤（虚热）未应，亦用隔蒜灸。若溃而发热口干，肢体倦怠，用东
垣圣愈汤。脓水淋漓，不时发热，用四君、参、 。若因乳母肝经血虚发热，用加味小柴胡汤（发热）。肝脾郁
怒发热，用加味归脾汤（惊悸）。膏粱浓味积热，用加味清胃散（齿）。如专与凉血，用败毒等药，复伤元气，
必致成者不能溃，溃者不能敛矣。〔万〕凡治痘痈，先看在何经络，分气血多少，用引经药，如太阳经羌活、
防风，阳明经升麻、白芷，少阳经柴胡，少阴经独活，太阴经防风，厥阴柴胡。若初红肿硬痛者，以针刺之，
口吮去恶血，以拔毒膏敷贴。气实能食，大便坚者，用排毒散疏利之。气虚食少者，用十宣散或流气饮。毒浅
而小者，只内服小柴胡加生地黄汤，外用拔毒膏贴之。此治肿疡之法也。若已成脓而未溃者，以铍针决去其脓，勿
使内溃。已溃者用十全大补汤（汗）主之。此治溃疡之法也。
仙方活命饮 治痘疔痘毒，及一切疮毒，未成即消，已成即溃，此消毒、败脓、止痛、之圣药。
金银花 陈皮（各三钱） 皂角刺（炒） 穿山甲（用蛤粉炒） 乳香 没药 白芷 防风 当归
（各一钱） 贝母 天花粉 甘草节（各七分）
上，每服五钱，酒煎。婴儿母同服。为末，酒调服亦可。若势甚而邪在表者加麻黄散之，而毒在内者加大
黄下之，当临证制宜，此解回生起死之剂，但元气脱者不治。
人参败毒散 治余毒痈肿。
人参 赤茯苓 羌活 独活 前胡 薄荷 柴胡 枳壳 川芎 桔梗（各等分） 甘
草（减半） 牛蒡子 防风 荆芥 连翘 金银花（即荆防败毒散）
头上，加白芷升麻。上身，倍加桔梗。手，加薄桂。腰，加杜仲。腿足，加牛膝、木瓜。
桦皮散 治痘疮及乳痈，并一切肿毒。
桦皮木锉煎温服。此药，味苦平无毒。若治乳痈，取桦皮烧存性，为末，酒调服之，立消。
十三味败毒散 治痈毒。

小柴胡加生地黄汤
柴胡 人参 黄芩（各三两） 甘草（炙） 生地黄 半夏（各二两，汤泡七次）
上为粗末。每服三钱，水一盏，生姜三片，枣一枚，煎至半盏，去滓温服。
六味活血散 治痈疽疮痛初起，红肿不散。
当归 川芎 赤芍药 生地黄 红花 苏木（各等分）
上，水煎，量服之。
五福化毒丹 治痘毒、实热肿痛。
生地黄 熟地黄 天门冬（去心） 麦门冬（去心） 玄参（各二两） 甘草 甜硝（各三两） 青
黛（一两五钱）
上为末。蜜丸芡实大。每服一丸，白汤化下。
犀角消毒丸 治痘疹余毒，一切疮毒。

上为末。蜜丸芡实大。每服一丸，白汤化下。
按∶化毒丹，降火凉血，解毒寒中之剂。消毒丸，清热解毒破血之剂。盖小儿脏腑脆嫩，元气易伤，
况痘后气血皆虚，岂能胜当此剂，若胃气一伤，则未成者不能消散，已成者不能腐溃，已溃者不能生肌，
殊不知痘疮乃脏腑所发，
遍身之血，皆化为脓，况此方愈而患此，乃脾胃虚怯，肌肉消弱，荣卫短涩所致，治者审之。
十宣散（见形）
托里散 治痘毒元气虚弱，不能溃散，未成用之自消，已成用之自溃。
人参 黄 （炒。各二钱） 当归（酒洗） 白术 陈皮 熟地黄 茯苓 芍药（炒。各一钱五

上三五钱，水煎服。
托里消毒散 治痘毒瓦斯血虚弱，不起发、腐溃、收敛，或发寒热，肌肉不生。

〔东垣〕圣愈汤 治脓溃心烦无寐，体倦少食。

上，水煎服。
《济生》归脾汤 治脾血虚损，健忘惊悸，或心气虚不能摄血归源，以致妄行，或吐血下血，或
因乳母心脾二经有热，疮不结痂，或疮痕赤色。加柴胡、山栀，即加味归脾汤。
人参 白茯苓 黄 白术 龙眼肉 当归 远志 酸枣仁（炒各二钱） 木香（一钱）
甘草（五分） 当归身（一钱）
上，姜枣水煎。母、子、同服。
〔丹溪〕痘痈敷药用贝母、南星、僵蚕、天花粉、寒水石、白芷、草乌、大黄、猪牙皂角，醋调敷患处，效。
拔毒膏（一名必胜膏）
马齿苋（杵汁） 猪膏脂 石蜜
上，以三味共熬为膏，涂肿处。
神效隔蒜灸法 治痘痈大痛或麻木，痛者灸至不痛，不痛者灸至痛，其毒随火散。
用大蒜头切三分浓，安上，用小艾炷于蒜上灸之，每五壮，易蒜再灸，痛不止，
尤宜多灸。小儿，须将蒜切片，着肉一面略剜小空，灼艾燃蒜，先置大人臂上，试其冷热得宜，然后着疮上，
又别灼，如前法试之，以待相易，勿令歇。
替针丸 治痘痈脓已成，不溃。
陈坏米（一钱） 砂（五钱） 雄雀粪（四十九粒，真雄雀粪、直者是也）
上为末。米粥丸，如麦粒大。每用一粒，粘疮头上，以膏药贴之，半晌，其脓自出。若疮头透而脓不出，
或出而愈痛，或发热，血气虚也，用托里散。或作呕吐痰，食少体倦，脾气虚也，用六君子汤。
神效太乙膏 治一切疮疽溃烂。
玄参 白芷 当归 肉桂 赤芍药 大黄 生地黄（各一两）
上 咀。用麻油四十两，入铜锅内煎至药黑，滤去滓，徐入净黄丹一斤，再煎，滴水成珠，捏软硬得中，
即成膏矣。
神效当归膏 治痘毒浸淫，或汤火等证，及疮腐不能生肌收敛者。
当归 黄蜡 生地黄（各一两） 麻油（六两）
先将当归、地黄入油煎，去滓，入蜡熔化，候温，搅匀，即成膏矣。
豆豉饼 治疮疡肿痛，或硬而不溃，及溃而不敛，并一切顽疮毒疖。用江西豆豉为末，唾津和成饼，大
如铜钱，浓如三四钱，置患处，以艾铺饼上灸之。未成即消，已成者祛逐余毒，间有不效者，乃气血虚败
之证，参疔疮论灸法用之。
如圣饼 治一切疮疡硬肿，不能消散，或毒不能解散。
乳香 没药 木香 血竭 当归（等分） 麝香（少许）
上，各另为末。酒糊和为饼。炙热，频熨患处。恶疮，加蟾酥等分。
神功散 治疮疡初起肿痛者，用之可消。加血竭更效。
黄柏（炒为末，二钱） 草乌（生为末，二钱）
上，用漱口水调敷，常以漱水润之。
三豆散 痘后，痈毒初起红肿。
黑豆 赤豆 绿豆
用醋浸，研浆，时时以鹅翎刷上，随手可消。
铁箍散 治痘后痈毒。
凤凰退烧灰，醋调围四畔，留头出毒瓦斯，甚佳。
【疮疥】痘后遍身疮癣如疥如癞，脓血浸淫，皮肤溃烂，日夕不愈，此毒瓦斯弥漫，散于皮肤，宜升麻葛根
汤（初热）、防风解毒汤（大法）、苦参丸（痘癞）主之，若因 掏成疮者，只以百花膏（收靥）涂之。
连翘散 治小儿疮疹疖痘疹余毒作楚，或生于头面，耳疼颊赤生疮。
连翘 黄芩 瞿麦 木通 滑石 柴胡 荆芥 牛蒡子 防风 羌活 赤芍药 甘草（各等分）
每服三钱，水一盏，煎半盏。又，入生薄荷尤好。
金花散（见溃烂）
【疳蚀】痘后疳蚀疮者，毒壅肌肉，内透筋骨，外连皮肤，时痛出血，日久不痊，亦恶候也。内服十全大补
汤（汗）外以绵茧散贴之（收靥）。更与收靥门疳蚀条参看。
三黄散 治疳热生疮，脓水浸淫，脓流处，便湿烂。
松香 五倍子 黄连 黄丹 海螵蛸（各一钱） 轻粉 雄黄（各半钱）
上为末。用莹肌散煎洗，渗之。干者，香油敷。
【瘾疹】瘾者，皮肤间隐隐成疙瘩，瘙痒爬搔更多，内服解毒防风汤（大法），外以
筚衣汤洗之。疹者，皮间点点，状如蚊蚤所咬之迹，或如小芥子，即麻子也，升麻葛根汤（初热）加防风、荆芥
穗主之，热甚渴者，与人参白虎汤相合服之。
筚衣汤
炊饭筚衣煮水，洗瘾起疙瘩者神效。如无，以炊筚煮汤亦好。
蚬子水 治痘后发瘾。
蚬子不拘多少，活者，以水养五七日，旋取其水，洗之。
【丹瘤】赤火丹瘤，此恶候也，流移红肿，其痛手不可近，从头上起者，过心即死，从足下起者，过肾即死，
宜内服小柴胡加生地黄汤、玄参化毒汤，外用蜞针法吮去恶血，自消。若但红不肿不痛者 也，人参白虎汤加
玄参、大青、生地黄主之。
玄参化毒汤
玄参 当归尾 赤芍药 石膏 连翘 生地黄 地骨皮 红花（酒洗） 防风 荆芥穗 淡竹叶 木通
上，水煎服。
犀角消毒散 治 疹、丹毒，发热痛痒，及疮疹等证。
牛蒡子 甘草 荆芥 防风（各五分） 犀角（镑，二分） 金银花（三分）
上，水煎熟，入犀角，倾出服。
加味解毒散 治 疹痒痛，寒热甚者烦躁谵语，并痘毒发热咽干。
犀角（镑，五钱） 连翘（炒，二钱） 牛蒡子（炒，三钱） 薄荷（一钱） 甘草（五分）
上为末。每服一二钱，滚汤调下。
小柴胡加生地黄汤（见前痈疖）
蜞针法
取水蛭大者五六条，放肿处，吮去恶血，可以消丹瘤，决痈肿。
【眼目】〔万〕痘疮毒瓦斯之为目翳也，盖自脏而达外，治之之法，但活血解毒而已，活血不至于
热，解毒不至于冷，五脏平和，则翳当自去。不可轻用点药，反致损睛，宜蝉蜕散（痘眼目）四物汤加
柴胡主之。若目闭泪出，不敢见明者，此羞明证也，惟于黑暗处则能开，才见明则阳光烁之，泪自 出，
瘾涩难开，宜洗肝明目散（痘眼目），便秘者泻青丸（肝）。或能开目，只视物昏者，此血不足也，四物汤加
密蒙花。目中赤
〔万全〕凡是痘疮病情较轻的，其病根疏浅，毒邪微弱，证候顺遂，自然容易结痂愈合，没有余毒遗留。病情较重的，其病根深固，毒邪炽盛，证候险恶，自然难以透发、难以结痂，会有余毒遗留。逆证的，或者毒邪内伏，或者倒陷，或者倒靥（指痘疹未完全发出即回缩），幸好脾胃素来强健，调理治疗又及时，不至于陷入极度困顿，也会产生余毒。钱乙说：这类病症有三种表现，一是疥疮，二是痈肿，三是眼睛发红。根据症状推求，还不仅仅只有这些，也有痘疹已经出齐、发出透彻、结痂整齐的，却又出现余毒症状，这是由于过度温补、饮食不当而导致的。所以治疗痘后余毒，或采用补益法，或采用发散法，或采用通利解毒法，关键在于分辨表里、论述虚实，不可一概而论地盲目投药。
〔陈自明〕疮疡余毒，如果肝虚则侵入眼目；如果肺虚则形成癣疥；如果形成痈疖，发作在骨节处，是肾虚的表现；发作在肌肉处，是脾虚的表现；如果在筋脉、头部、面部，或者牙齿发生疳蚀，或者咽喉肿痛，都随经络显现，都是毒邪不散，蕴积而成。或者患者开始没有及时治疗，或者医生误治，导致毒邪遗留在经络中，其产生的原因，自有其根源。适宜服用解毒等方剂。
〔世医〕痘毒攻冲脾脏则导致泄泻、身体浮肿；攻冲肝脏则眼睛生翳膜；攻冲心脏则烦躁啼哭；攻冲肾脏则耳朵疼痛、脓液积聚；攻冲肺脏则咳嗽、痰涎增多。
〔李杲〕如果痘疹发出之后，有余毒未散，再次出现身体发热、疮肿等症状，应当用茶送服解毒丸。
〔朱震亨〕治疗小儿痘疮，余毒未散，进食谷物太早，补住了毒气。
鼠粘子（六钱） 甘草（五分） 犀角 白术（各三钱） 荆芥 防风 枳壳（各一钱）
用水煎煮，温服。
活血解毒汤 治疗余毒。
防风 荆芥 生地黄 赤芍药 当归 连翘 牛蒡子 黄连 紫草 甘草 苍术 薄荷 川芎 木通
以上各等分，用水煎煮服用。
【痈疖】这是由于毒气留藏在经络中，所以在肌肉虚弱之处，或者关节活动之处，红肿而形成痈。又或者在平复之后，失于通利解毒，余毒大盛，外不能发泄于皮肤，内不能进入脏腑，聚集而不消散，于是形成痈。如果毒气浅表的，只生成结核、肿毒、疮疖而已；严重的甚至到头颈胸胁手足肢节，全部肿胀疼痛，但只发作一两处的，或者根基浅的，可以治疗。如果流注起伏，根基深蔓延引的，轻则溃烂筋脉脱去骨头，必然成为残疾之疾，重则绵延日久致死。〔朱震亨〕痘痈多是实毒血热成痈，分上下部位用药，一天都不能拖延，成脓必须用清热凉血为主，如赤芍药、甘草节、连翘、桔梗之类，上焦引用升麻、葛根，下焦引用槟榔、牛膝，更辅助以贝母、忍冬草、白芷、栝蒌，大便干燥用大黄，寒热往来用黄芩、黄柏，此法多次见效。〔薛己〕前述证候初起未成脓的，用仙方活命饮、隔蒜灸法，治疗使其消散。想要成脓的，用仙方活命饮解表使其溃破。气血虚弱的，用八珍汤（针对虚羸）使其实而后溃破。虚弱而不能收敛的，用托里散补益而收敛。大凡发热肿痛，大便不结燥的，用仙方活命饮及隔蒜灸法。大便秘结的，用仙方活命饮加大黄。大便已通，肿痛未退的，再用仙方活命饮一服，用托里散补益元气。如果发热倦怠，大便调和的，用补中益气汤（针对虚热），无效，也用隔蒜灸。如果溃破后发热口干，肢体倦怠的，用东垣圣愈汤。脓水淋漓，不时发热的，用四君子汤加人参、黄芪。如果因乳母肝经血虚发热，用加味小柴胡汤（针对发热）。肝脾郁怒发热，用加味归脾汤（针对惊悸）。膏粱厚味积热，用加味清胃散（针对齿病）。如果专门使用凉血药，用败毒等药，反而损伤元气，必然导致未成的不能溃破，溃破的不能收敛。〔万全〕凡是治疗痘痈，先看发生在哪条经络，分辨气血多少，使用引经药，如太阳经用羌活、防风，阳明经用升麻、白芷，少阳经用柴胡，少阴经用独活，太阴经用防风，厥阴经用柴胡。如果初起红肿硬痛的，用针刺破，口吮去恶血，用拔毒膏敷贴。气实能食，大便坚硬的，用排毒散疏利之。气虚食少的，用十宣散或流气饮。毒浅而小的，只内服小柴胡加生地黄汤，外用拔毒膏贴之。这是治疗肿疡的方法。如果已成脓而未溃破的，用铍针决破排出脓液，不要使之内溃。已溃破的用十全大补汤（针对汗出）主治。这是治疗溃疡的方法。
仙方活命饮 治疗痘疔痘毒，以及一切疮毒，未成即消，已成即溃，这是消毒、败脓、止痛的神药。
金银花 陈皮（各三钱） 皂角刺（炒） 穿山甲（用蛤粉炒） 乳香 没药 白芷 防风 当归
（各一钱） 贝母 天花粉 甘草节（各七分）
以上，每服五钱，酒煎。婴儿由母亲同服。研为末，酒调服也可以。如果势态严重且邪在表者加麻黄发散，而毒在内者加大黄泻下，应当临证制宜，这是解回生起死之剂，但元气脱绝者不治。
人参败毒散 治疗余毒痈肿。

以上，水煎，适量服用。
五福化毒丹 治疗痘毒、实热肿痛。
生地黄 熟地黄 天门冬（去心） 麦门冬（去心） 玄参（各二两） 甘草 甜硝（各三两） 青黛（一两五钱）
以上为末。蜜丸如芡实大。每服一丸，白开水化下。

按语：化毒丹，是降火凉血、解毒寒中之剂。消毒丸，是清热解毒、破血之剂。大概小儿脏腑脆嫩，元气易伤，何况痘后气血皆虚，怎能承受此类药剂？如果胃气一伤，则未成的不能消散，已成的不能腐溃，已溃的不能生肌，殊不知痘疮乃脏腑所发，遍身之血，皆化为脓，况且此方愈后患此症，乃是脾胃虚怯，肌肉消弱，营卫短涩所致，医者审慎。
十宣散（见形证章节）
托里散 治疗痘毒元气虚弱，不能溃散，未成用之自消，已成用之自溃。

《济生》归脾汤 治疗脾血虚损，健忘惊悸，或心气虚不能摄血归源，以致妄行，或吐血下血，或因乳母心脾二经有热，疮不结痂，或疮痕赤色。加柴胡、山栀，即加味归脾汤。
人参 白茯苓 黄芪 白术 龙眼肉 当归 远志 酸枣仁（炒各二钱） 木香（一钱）
甘草（五分） 当归身（一钱）
以上，姜枣水煎。母、子同服。
〔朱震亨〕痘痈敷药用贝母、南星、僵蚕、天花粉、寒水石、白芷、草乌、大黄、猪牙皂角，醋调敷患处，有效。
拔毒膏（一名必胜膏）
马齿苋（杵汁） 猪膏脂 石蜜
以上，以三味共熬为膏，涂肿处。
神效隔蒜灸法 治疗痘痈大痛或麻木，痛者灸至不痛，不痛者灸至痛，其毒随火散。
用大蒜头切三分浓，安上，用小艾炷于蒜上灸之，每五壮，换蒜再灸，痛不止，尤其宜多灸。小儿，须将蒜切片，着肉一面略剜小空，灼艾燃蒜，先置大人臂上，试其冷热得宜，然后着疮上，又别灼，如前法试之，以待相易，勿令歇。
替针丸 治疗痘痈脓已成，不溃。
陈坏米（一钱） 砂（五钱） 雄雀粪（四十九粒，真雄雀粪、直者是也）
以上为末。米粥丸，如麦粒大。每用一粒，粘疮头上，以膏药贴之，半晌，其脓自出。若疮头透而脓不出，或出而愈痛，或发热，血气虚也，用托里散。或作呕吐痰，食少体倦，脾气虚也，用六君子汤。
神效太乙膏 治疗一切疮疽溃烂。
玄参 白芷 当归 肉桂 赤芍药 大黄 生地黄（各一两）
以上切碎。用麻油四十两，入铜锅内煎至药黑，滤去滓，徐入净黄丹一斤，再煎，滴水成珠，捏软硬得中，即成膏矣。
神效当归膏 治疗痘毒浸淫，或汤火等证，及疮腐不能生肌收敛者。
当归 黄蜡 生地黄（各一两） 麻油（六两）
先将当归、地黄入油煎，去滓，入蜡熔化，候温，搅匀，即成膏矣。
豆豉饼 治疗疮疡肿痛，或硬而不溃，及溃而不敛，并一切顽疮毒疖。用江西豆豉为末，唾津和成饼，大如铜钱，浓如三四钱，置患处，以艾铺饼上灸之。未成即消，已成者祛逐余毒，间有不效者，乃气血虚败之证，参疔疮论灸法用之。
如圣饼 治疗一切疮疡硬肿，不能消散，或毒不能解散。
乳香 没药 木香 血竭 当归（等分） 麝香（少许）
以上，各另为末。酒糊和为饼。炙热，频熨患处。恶疮，加蟾酥等分。
神功散 治疗疮疡初起肿痛者，用之可消。加血竭更效。
黄柏（炒为末，二钱） 草乌（生为末，二钱）
以上，用漱口水调敷，常以漱水润之。
三豆散 痘后，痈毒初起红肿。
黑豆 赤豆 绿豆
用醋浸，研浆，时时以鹅翎刷上，随手可消。
铁箍散 治疗痘后痈毒。
凤凰退烧灰，醋调围四畔，留头出毒瓦斯，甚佳。
【疮疥】痘后遍身疮癣如疥如癞，脓血浸淫，皮肤溃烂，日夕不愈，此毒瓦斯弥漫，散于皮肤，宜升麻葛根汤（初热）、防风解毒汤（大法）、苦参丸（痘癞）主之，若因抓挠成疮者，只以百花膏（收靥）涂之。
连翘散 治疗小儿疮疹疖痘疹余毒作楚，或生于头面，耳疼颊赤生疮。
连翘 黄芩 瞿麦 木通 滑石 柴胡 荆芥 牛蒡子 防风 羌活 赤芍药 甘草（各等分）
每服三钱，水一盏，煎半盏。又，入生薄荷尤好。
金花散（见溃烂章节）
【疳蚀】痘后疳蚀疮者，毒壅肌肉，内透筋骨，外连皮肤，时痛出血，日久不痊，亦恶候也。内服十全大补汤（汗）外以绵茧散贴之（收靥）。更与收靥门疳蚀条参看。
三黄散 治疗疳热生疮，脓水浸淫，脓流处，便湿烂。
松香 五倍子 黄连 黄丹 海螵蛸（各一钱） 轻粉 雄黄（各半钱）
以上为末。用莹肌散煎洗，渗之。干者，香油敷。
【瘾疹】瘾者，皮肤间隐隐成疙瘩，瘙痒爬搔更多，内服解毒防风汤（大法），外以筚衣汤洗之。疹者，皮间点点，状如蚊蚤所咬之迹，或如小芥子，即麻子也，升麻葛根汤（初热）加防风、荆芥穗主之，热甚渴者，与人参白虎汤相合服之。
筚衣汤
炊饭筚衣煮水，洗瘾起疙瘩者神效。如无，以炊筚煮汤亦好。
蚬子水 治疗痘后发瘾。
蚬子不拘多少，活者，以水养五七日，旋取其水，洗之。
【丹瘤】赤火丹瘤，此恶候也，流移红肿，其痛手不可近，从头上起者，过心即死，从足下起者，过肾即死，宜内服小柴胡加生地黄汤、玄参化毒汤，外用蜞针法吮去恶血，自消。若但红不肿不痛者 痧也，人参白虎汤加玄参、大青、生地黄主之。
玄参化毒汤

以上，水煎服。
犀角消毒散 治疗痧疹、丹毒，发热痛痒，及疮疹等证。
牛蒡子 甘草 荆芥 防风（各五分） 犀角（镑，二分） 金银花（三分）
以上，水煎熟，入犀角，倾出服。
加味解毒散 治疗痧疹痒痛，寒热甚者烦躁谵语，并痘毒发热咽干。
犀角（镑，五钱） 连翘（炒，二钱） 牛蒡子（炒，三钱） 薄荷（一钱） 甘草（五分）
以上为末。每服一二钱，滚汤调下。
蜞针法
取水蛭大者五六条，放肿处，吮去恶血，可以消丹瘤，决痈肿。
【眼目】〔万全〕痘疮毒瓦斯之为目翳也，盖自脏而达外，治之之法，但活血解毒而已，活血不至于热，解毒不至于冷，五脏平和，则翳当自去。不可轻用点药，反致损睛，宜蝉蜕散（痘眼目）四物汤加柴胡主之。若目闭泪出，不敢见明者，此羞明证也，惟于黑暗处则能开，才见明则阳光烁之，泪自出，瘾涩难开，宜洗肝明目散（痘眼目），便秘者泻青丸（肝）。或能开目，只视物昏者，此血不足也，四物汤加密蒙花。目中赤
[Wan Quan] For mild cases of smallpox, the root is shallow, the toxin is slight, and the syndrome is favorable, leading to natural scabbing and healing without residual toxins. For severe cases, the root is deep, the toxin is vigorous, and the syndrome is dangerous, making it difficult to erupt and scab, resulting in residual toxins. In adverse cases, the toxin may be latent, inverted, or the scabs may retract prematurely. Fortunately, if the spleen and stomach are inherently strong and treatment is timely, the patient will not fall into extreme distress, but residual toxins may still arise. Qian Yi stated: There are three manifestations of this disease: one is scabies, two is carbuncles, and three is red eyes. Based on symptoms, there are more than these; even when eruptions are complete, fully erupted, and evenly scabbed, residual toxins may appear due to excessive warming and tonification or improper diet. Therefore, treating post-smallpox residual toxins involves either tonifying, dispersing, or purging and resolving, depending on whether the pathogen is in the exterior or interior and whether the condition is deficiency or excess. One must not blindly administer decoctions indiscriminately.
[Chen Ziming] Residual toxins from sores may invade the eyes if the liver is deficient, form tinea and scabies if the lungs are deficient, or cause carbuncles and boils. If occurring at bone joints, it indicates kidney deficiency; if in muscles, spleen deficiency. Manifestations in tendons, head, face, teeth (with caries), or throat swelling and pain all follow meridian pathways, caused by toxins that fail to disperse and accumulate. This arises from delayed initial treatment or medical error, leaving toxins in the meridians. Decoctions for detoxification are appropriate.
[General Physicians] Smallpox toxin attacking the spleen causes diarrhea and edema; attacking the liver causes corneal opacity; attacking the heart causes irritability and crying; attacking the kidneys causes earache and pus accumulation; attacking the lungs causes cough and phlegm.
[Li Gao] If after eruption, residual toxins remain unscattered with fever and sores, administer Detoxification Pills (Jiedu Wan) with tea.
[Zhu Danxi] To treat pediatric smallpox with residual toxins, early consumption of grains can trap the toxic qi.
Buddleja Seed (Niuzi, 6 qian), Licorice Root (Gancao, 5 fen), Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao), Atractylodes Macrocephala (Baizhu, 3 qian each), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Bitter Orange (Zhike, 1 qian each).
Decoct in water and take warm.
Huoxue Jiedu Tang (Blood-Invigorating and Toxin-Resolving Decoction) treats residual toxins.
Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Rehmannia Root (Shengdihuang), Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Forsythia (Lianqiao), Buddleja Seed (Niuxiangzi), Coptis (Huanglian), Arnebia/Lithospermum (Zicao), Licorice (Gancao), Atractylodes Cangzhu), Mint (Bohe), Ligusticum Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), Akebia Stem (Mutong).
Equal parts, decoct in water and take.
[Carbuncles and Boils] These occur because toxic qi remains stored in the meridians, causing redness and swelling in weak muscle areas or movable joints. Alternatively, after resolution, failure to purge and resolve leads to vigorous residual toxins that cannot exit via skin or enter organs, accumulating to form carbuncles. Superficial toxins cause nodules, swellings, or boils; severe cases involve widespread swelling and pain in head, neck, chest, limbs, etc., which are treatable if localized or superficial. Deep, spreading infections may lead to tendon rupture, bone exposure, disability, or death. [Zhu Danxi] Smallpox carbuncles are often due to excess toxin and blood heat. Treatment depends on location. Urgency is critical. For suppuration, prioritize clearing heat and cooling blood using Red Peony Root (Chishaoyao), Licorice Joint (Gancao Jie), Forsythia (Lianqiao), Platycodon (Jiegeng). Use Ligusticum (Shengma) and Kudzu (Gegen) as guides for upper body; Areca Nut (Binglang) and Achyranthes (Nixi) for lower body. Add Fritillaria (Beimu), Honeysuckle (Rendongcao), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Trichosanthes (Gualou). Use Rhubarb (Dahuang) for dry stool; Scutellaria (Huangqin) and Phellodendron (Huangbai) for alternating chills and fever. This method is effective. [Xue Ji] For early-stage non-suppurative lesions, use Xianfang Huoming Yin (Immortal Life Elixir) and Garlic-Moxibustion (Gesu Jiu) to dissipate. For impending suppuration, use Xianfang Huoming Yin to induce rupture. For Qi and Blood deficiency, use Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) to strengthen before rupturing. For weakness preventing healing, use Tuoli San (Support Interior Powder) to tonify and heal. Generally, for fever/swelling with normal stool, use Xianfang Huoming Yin and Garlic-Moxibustion. For constipation, add Rhubarb. If stool is clear but swelling persists, use another dose of Xianfang Huoming Yin followed by Tuoli San. For fever/fatigue with normal stool, use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify Middle and Boost Qi Decoction); if ineffective, use Garlic-Moxibustion. For post-rupture fever/dry mouth/fatigue, use Dongyuan Shengyu Tang. For dripping pus/intermittent fever, use Sijunzi Tang plus Ginseng and Astragalus. If the nursing mother has Liver Blood deficiency fever, use Jiawei Xiaochaihu Tang (Modified Minor Bupleurum Decoction). For Liver/Spleen depression anger fever, use Jiawei Guipi Tang (Modified Heart-Spleen Tonifying Decoction). For dietary heat accumulation, use Jiawei Qingwei San (Modified Stomach-Clearing Powder). Pure blood-cooling agents like Baidu drugs damage Qi, preventing rupture or healing. [Wan Quan] Treat smallpox carbuncles by identifying the meridian and using guiding herbs: Taiyang (Qianghuo, Fangfeng), Yangming (Shengma, Baizhi), Shaoyang (Chaihu), Shaoyin (Duhuo), Taiyin (Fangfeng), Jueyin (Chaihu). For early red/hard/painful lesions, prick with needle, suck out bad blood, apply Badu Gao (Toxin-Pulling Ointment). For excess Qi/stiff stool, use Paidu San (Detoxification and Purging Powder). For deficiency Qi/low appetite, use Shixuan San or Liuqi Yin. For shallow/small toxins, use Xiaochaihu Tang plus Shengdihuang internally and Badu Gao externally. This treats pre-ulcerative stage. For suppurative but unruptured lesions, use Pi Zhen (Knife Needle) to drain pus, preventing internal spread. For ruptured lesions, use Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten Complete Tonic Decoction). This treats ulcerative stage.
Xianfang Huoming Yin (Immortal Life Elixir) treats smallpox carbuncles and all sore toxins, dissolving unformed ones and rupturing formed ones. It is a holy medicine for detoxification, pus elimination, and pain relief.
Honeysuckle (Jinyinhua), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi, 3 qian each), Gleditsia Spine (Zaocishi, stir-fried), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia, stir-fried with clam powder), Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui, 1 qian each), Fritillaria (Beimu), Trichosanthes Root (Tianhuafen), Licorice Joint (Gancao Jie, 7 fen each).
Take 5 qian per dose, decoct in wine. Infants' mothers take it too. Powder form mixed with wine is also acceptable. For severe exterior pathogens, add Ephedra (Mahuang) to disperse; for interior toxins, add Rhubarb (Dahuang) to purge. Adapt to clinical presentation. This is a life-saving agent, but useless if Qi is exhausted.
Renshen Baidu San (Ginseng Detoxification Powder) treats residual toxin carbuncles.
Ginseng (Renshen), Red Poria (Chifuling), Notopterygium (Qianghuo), Angelica Dahurica (Duhuo), Peucedanum (Qianhu), Mint (Bohe), Bupleurum (Chaihu), Bitter Orange (Zhike), Ligusticum (Chuanxiong), Platycodon (Jiegeng, equal parts), Licorice (Gancao, half dose), Buddleja (Niuxiangzi), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Forsythia (Lianqiao), Honeysuckle (Jinyinhua - i.e., Jingfang Baidu San).
Add Baizhi and Shengma for head; increase Jiegeng for upper body; add Cassia Twig (Rougui) for hands; add Eucommia (Duzhong) for waist; add Achyranthes (Nixi) and Quinine Fruit (Mugua) for legs.
Huapi San (Birch Bark Powder) treats smallpox, mastitis, and all swellings.
Birch bark, grated and decocted warm. Bitter and neutral, non-toxic. For mastitis, burn birch bark to ash, powder, mix with wine for immediate resolution.
Shisanwei Baidu San (Thirteen-Ingredient Detoxification Powder) treats carbuncle toxins.
Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia, earth-stir-fried), Honeysuckle (Jinyinhua), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Frankincense (Ruxiang, processed), Licorice (Gancao), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Red Peony (Chishaoyao), Gleditsia Spine (Zaocishi), Fritillaria (Beimu), Myrrh (Moyao, processed), Trichosanthes (Tianhuafen), Peony (Shaoyao).
Equal parts, decoct in half wine/half water.

Baoming Ji Muxiang San (Wood-Aromatic Powder from Collection of Preserving Life) treats post-smallpox carbuncles in children with divine efficacy.
Ground Tree Peony Root (Digupi, 1 liang), Quinine Fruit (Mugua, 0.5 liang), Pangolin Scales (Chuanshanjia, roasted yellow, 3.5 qian), Musk (Shexiang, 1 zi).
Powder, take 2 qian with rice drink.
Liuqi Yin (Flowing-Qi Decoction)
Ligusticum (Chuanxiong), Angelica Tail (Danggui Shao), White Peony (Baishaoyao), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Ginseng (Renshen), Perilla Leaf (Zisuye), Wood-Aromatic (Muxiang), Licorice Joint (Gancao Jie), Astragalus (Huangqi), Cassia Twig (Guixin), Platycodon (Jiegeng), Betel Nut (Binglang), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Magnolia Bark (N Hou), Lindera (Wuyao), Bitter Orange (Zhike, 4 fen each).
Coarsely chopped. Decoct 1 cup water to 0.7 cup. Take. Add Prepared Aconite (Shufuzi) for Qi/Blood deficiency with diarrhea; add Rhubarb (Dahuang) for solid stool.
Xiaochaihu Jia Shengdihuang Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction plus Rehmannia)
Bupleurum (Chaihu), Ginseng (Renshen), Scutellaria (Huangqin, 3 liang each), Licorice (Gancao, roasted), Rehmannia (Shengdihuang), Pinellia (Banxia, 2 liang each, soaked in boiling water 7 times).
Coarse powder. Take 3 qian, decoct with 1 cup water, 3 slices ginger, 1 date, until 0.5 cup. Strain and take warm.
Liawei Huoxue San (Six-Ingredient Blood-Invigorating Powder) treats early carbuncles/ulcers with persistent redness/swelling.
Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Ligusticum (Chuanxiong), Red Peony (Chishaoyao), Rehmannia (Shengdihuang), Safflower (Honghua), Sappan Wood (Sumu, equal parts).
Decoct in water, take appropriate amount.
Wufu Huadu Dan (Five-Fortunes Toxin-Resolving Pill) treats smallpox toxin, excess heat swelling/pain.
Rehmannia (Shengdihuang), Prepared Rehmannia (Shudihuang), Asparagus Root (Tianmendong, heart removed), Ophiopogon (Maimendong, heart removed), Scrophularia (Xuanshen, 2 liang each), Licorice (Gancao), Saltpeter (Tianxiao, 3 liang each), Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai, 1.5 liang).
Powder, honey pills size of Eccleesia seed. Take 1 pill dissolved in warm water.
Xijiao Xiaodu Wan (Rhinoceros Horn Detoxification Pill) treats post-smallpox/residual toxins and all sores.
Rehmannia (Shengdihuang), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao, powder), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Buddleja (Niuxiangzi, pounded/stir-fried), Red Peony (Chishaoyao), Forsythia (Lianqiao), Platycodon (Jiegeng, 7 qian each), Mint (Bohe), Scutellaria (Huangqin), Licorice (Gancao).
Powder, honey pills size of Eccleesia seed. Take 1 pill dissolved in warm water.
Note: Huadu Dan clears fire, cools blood, resolves toxins (cold nature). Xiaodu Wan clears heat, resolves toxins, breaks blood. Children's viscera are tender, Qi easily damaged. Post-smallpox Qi/Blood is deficient; they cannot tolerate such cold/breaking agents. Damaging Stomach Qi prevents resolution, suppuration, or flesh regeneration. Smallpox originates from viscera, turning blood to pus. Recurrence after cure indicates Spleen/Stomach deficiency, muscle wasting, and shortness of Ying/Wei. Physicians must be cautious.
Shixuan San (see Appearance section).
Tuoli San (Support Interior Powder) treats weak Qi from smallpox toxin unable to rupture. Dissolves unformed, ruptures formed.

Tuoli Xiaodu San (Support Interior and Detoxify Powder) treats weak Qi/Blood from smallpox toxin failing to erupt, suppurate, or heal, with fever/chills or lack of flesh growth.

[Li Gao] Shengyu Tang (Holy Recovery Decoction) treats restlessness/insomnia after pus rupture, fatigue, poor appetite.
Prepared Rehmannia (Shudihuang, homemade best), Raw Rehmannia (Shengdihuang, 2 fen each), Ginseng (Renshen), Ligusticum (Chuanxiong, 3 fen each), Angelica (Danggui), Astragalus (Huangqi, 5 fen each).
Decoct in water and take.
[Jisheng] Guipi Tang (Heart-Spleen Tonifying Decoction) treats Spleen Blood deficiency, forgetfulness, palpitations, or Heart Qi deficiency failing to control blood, causing bleeding, or nursing mother's Heart/Spleen heat preventing scabbing/red scars. Add Bupleurum (Chaihu) and Gardenia (Shanzhi) for Modified Version.
Ginseng (Renshen), White Poria (Baifuling), Astragalus (Huangqi), Atractylodes (Baizhu), Longan Aril (Longyanrou), Angelica (Danggui), Polygala (Yuanzhi), Sour Jujube Seed (Suanzaoren, roasted, 2 qian each), Aucklandia (Muxiang, 1 qian), Licorice (Gancao, 5 fen), Angelica Body (Danggui Shen, 1 qian).
Decoct with Ginger and Date. Mother and child take together.
[Zhu Danxi] Topical paste for smallpox carbuncles uses Fritillaria (Beimu), Arisaema (Nanxing), Silkworm (Jiangcan), Trichosanthes (Tianhuafen), Halloysite (Han shuishishi), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Cocculus (Caowu), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Pod of Pig Tooth Soapberry (Zhuya Zaojiao), mixed with vinegar and applied. Effective.
Badu Gao (Toxin-Pulling Ointment, aka Bisheng Gao)
Purslane (Machixian, juice pressed), Lard (Zhigaoshi), Rock Sugar (Shimi).
Boil three ingredients into ointment, apply to swelling.
Shenxiao Gesu Jiu (Divine Garlic-Moxibustion Method) treats painful/numb smallpox carbuncles. Moisten pain until numb, numbness until pain; toxin disperses with fire.
Slice garlic 3 fen thick, place on lesion. Moxa cone on garlic. 5 moxa units, replace garlic, repeat. More if pain persists. For infants, slice garlic, hollow slightly, test temperature on adult arm first, then apply to lesion. Keep replacing to maintain heat.
Tizhen Wan (Needle-Replacement Pill) treats suppurated smallpox carbuncles not rupturing.
Old rotten rice (1 qian), Sand (5 qian), Male Sparrow Droppings (49 grains, true male, straight ones).
Powder, pill with rice porridge, wheat-grain size. Place 1 pill on pustule, cover with plaster. Pus exits in half day. If no pus/pain/fever occurs, it indicates Qi/Blood deficiency; use Tuoli San. If vomiting/phlegm/fatigue occurs, it indicates Spleen Qi deficiency; use Liujunzi Tang.
Shenxiao Taiyi Gao (Divine Supreme Ointment) treats all ulcerated carbuncles/sores.
Scrophularia (Xuanshen), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Cinnamon Bark (Rougui), Red Peony (Chishaoyao), Rhubarb (Dahuang), Raw Rehmannia (Shengdihuang, 1 liang each).
Chop. Fry in 40 liang Sesame Oil in copper pot until black. Strain. Slowly add 1 jin refined Lead Monoxide (Huangdan). Fry until "water drop forms bead." Adjust hardness. Becomes ointment.
Shenxiao Danggui Gao (Divine Angelica Ointment) treats infiltrating smallpox toxin, burns/scalds, or non-healing ulcers.
Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Beeswax (Huangla), Raw Rehmannia (Shengdihuang, 1 liang each), Sesame Oil (MAYOU, 6 liang).
Fry Angelica and Rehmannia in oil, strain. Add wax, melt. Cool, mix. Becomes ointment.
Douchi Bing (Fermented Soybean Cake) treats swollen/painful sores, hard/unruptured, or unhealed ulcers, stubborn toxins. Jiangxi Douchi powder, mixed with saliva into cake (coin size, 3-4 fen thick). Apply to lesion, moxa on top. Dissolves unformed; clears residual toxins in formed. If ineffective, indicates severe Qi/Blood deficiency; refer to Carbuncle Moxibustion methods.
Rusheng Bing (Like-Sage Cake) treats hard/swollen sores unable to dissipate or toxins unable to scatter.
Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao), Wood-Aromatic (Muxiang), Dragon's Blood (Xuejie), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui, equal parts), Musk (Shexiang, small amount).
Powders separately. Mix with wine paste into cakes. Heat, frequently compress lesion. For malignant sores, add Toad Venom (Chansu) equal parts.
Shengong San (Divine Merit Powder) treats early swelling/pain, promotes resolution. Add Dragon's Blood (Xuejie) for better effect.
Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai, roasted powder, 2 qian), Cocculus Root (Caowu, raw powder, 2 qian).
Mix with mouthwash water, apply. Keep moist with mouthwash.
Sandou San (Three-Bean Powder) treats early post-smallpox carbuncle redness/swelling.
Black Bean (Heidou), Red Bean (Chidou), Mung Bean (Lv dou).
Soak in vinegar, grind to paste. Brush with goose feather frequently. Resolves quickly.
Tiegu San (Iron-Hoop Powder) treats post-smallpox carbuncles.
Phoenix Fever-Reducing Ash (Fenghuang Tuire Hui), mixed with vinegar, applied around perimeter, leaving center open for toxin exit. Excellent.
[Sores and Scabies] Post-smallpox body-wide tinea/scabies-like sores, oozing pus/blood, skin erosion, unhealing day/night. Toxin spreads on skin. Use Shengma Gegen Tang (Initial Heat), Fangfeng Jiedu Tang (General Principle), Kushen Wan (Smallpox Leprosy). If caused by scratching, apply Baihua Gao (Scabbing section).
Lianqiao San (Forsythia Powder) treats pediatric rash/carbuncle residual toxins causing pain, or head/face sores, earache, red cheeks.
Forsythia (Lianqiao), Scutellaria (Huangqin), Catchweed Bedstraw (Qumai), Akebia (Mutong), Talc (Huashi), Bupleurum (Chaihu), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Buddleja (Niuxiangzi), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Notopterygium (Qianghuo), Red Peony (Chishaoyao), Licorice (Gancao, equal parts).
Take 3 qian, decoct 1 cup water to 0.5 cup. Adding fresh Mint is good.

[Gan Erosion] Post-smallpox Gan erosion sores: toxin blocks muscles, penetrates bones/tendons internally, connects to skin externally, intermittent pain/bleeding, chronic non-healing. Bad omen. Internal: Shiquan Dabu Tang. External: Mianjian San (Scabbing section). Refer to Scabbing section Gan条目.
Sanhuang San (Three-Yellow Powder) treats Gan-heat sores, oozing pus/wet rot.
Rosin (Songxiang), Chinese Gall (Wubeizi), Coptis (Huanglian), Minium (Huandan), Cuttlebone (Haipiaoxiao, 1 qian each), Calomel (Qingfen), Realgar (Xionghuang, 0.5 qian each).
Powder. Wash with Yingji San decoction, soak. Dry apply Sesame Oil.
[Urticaria] "Yin" refers to hidden bumps, itching worsened by scratching. Internal: Jiedu Fangfeng Tang. External: Biyi Tang wash. "Zhen" refers to dot-like spots like mosquito/flea bites or mustard seeds (smallpox). Use Shengma Gegen Tang plus Fangfeng and Schizonepeta Spike. For severe heat/thirst, combine with Renshen Baihu Tang.
Biyi Tang
Water boiled from rice steamer liner (Bi yi) is divine for urticaria bumps. If unavailable, boiled rice filter is okay.
Xianzi Shui (Clam Water) treats post-smallpox urticaria.
Live clams, keep in water 5-7 days, collect water, wash lesion.
[Danliu] Red Fire Danliu is a bad omen. Migratory redness/swelling, painful to touch. Starting from head, crossing heart is fatal; starting from feet, crossing kidney is fatal. Internal: Xiaochaihu Jia Shengdihuang Tang, Xuanshen Huadu Tang. External: Leech Therapy (Qizhen Fa) to suck bad blood, resolves spontaneously. If red but not swollen/painful, it is Sha (sand/rash). Use Renshen Baihu Tang plus Xuanshen, Isatis Root (Daqing), Rehmannia (Shengdihuang).
Xuanshen Huadu Tang
Scrophularia (Xuanshen), Angelica Tail (Danggui Wei), Red Peony (Chishaoyao), Gypsum (Shigao), Forsythia (Lianqiao), Raw Rehmannia (Shengdihuang), Ground Tree Peony Root (Digupi), Safflower (Honghua, wine-washed), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie Sui), Light Bamboo Leaves (Danzhuye), Akebia (Mutong).
Decoct in water and take.
Xijiao Xiaodu San treats Sha rash, Erysipelas, fever/pain/itch, and rash conditions.
Buddleja (Niuxiangzi), Licorice (Gancao), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng, 5 fen each), Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao, shaved, 2 fen), Honeysuckle (Jinyinhua, 3 fen).
Decoct熟, add Rhinoceros Horn, pour out and take.
Jiawei Jiedu San treats Sha rash itch/pain, severe chills/fever with irritability/delirium, and smallpox toxin fever/dry throat.
Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao, shaved, 5 qian), Forsythia (Lianqiao, roasted, 2 qian), Buddleja (Niuxiangzi, roasted, 3 qian), Mint (Bohe, 1 qian), Licorice (Gancao, 5 fen).
Powder. Take 1-2 qian mixed with boiling water.
Xiaochaihu Jia Shengdihuang Tang (see Carbuncles section).
Qizhen Fa (Leech Therapy)
Place 5-6 large leeches on swelling to suck bad blood. Resolves Danliu, drains carbuncles.
[Eyes] [Wan Quan] Smallpox toxin causing corneal opacity travels from viscera to exterior. Treatment: Invigorate blood and resolve toxin without causing heat or cold. Balanced viscera allow opacity to vanish. Do not lightly use eye drops to avoid damaging vision. Use Chan Tui San (Smallpox Eyes) or Siwu Tang plus Chaihu. If eyes closed/tearing/light-sensitive (Xiuming syndrome), open only in darkness; sunlight causes tearing/grittiness. Use Xi Gan Ming Mu San (Scour Liver Brighten Eyes Powder). For constipation, use Xieqing Wan (Liver). If eyes open but blurry, indicates Blood deficiency; Siwu Tang plus Dipteronia (Mimenghua). Redness in eyes...
