When a man engages in sexual intercourse, and the woman is at the height of her arousal, the man may experience premature flaccidity, with the penis not becoming firm enough, and semen difficult to ejaculate forcefully. People attribute this to the decline of the Fire of the Mingmen (Gate of Life), but who would know that it is actually a severe deficiency of Yang Qi? When Qi is prosperous, Yang is prosperous; when Qi declines, Yang declines. This Qi refers to the True Qi of the Five Zang Organs, not merely the Fire of the Mingmen. Although the Mingmen originally possesses congenital Fire Qi, it cannot generate without the postnatal Qi of the Five Zang Organs nourishing it. The world harms the Five Zang Organs, causing the Fire Qi of the Mingmen to wane, dissipating along with the True Qi of the Five Zang Organs. How can it then assist the Fire of the Mingmen? This is why flaccidity occurs midway through intercourse. The treatment method seems to urgently require tonifying the Yang Qi of the Five Zang Organs. However, all five organs need not be tonified simultaneously; one need only tonify the Qi of the Spleen and Kidney. Then the Qi of the Heart, Liver, and Lung will naturally flourish. When the Qi of the Five Zang Organs is prosperous, how could the Fire of the Mingmen fail to flourish? Use the formula Zhu Qi Xian Dan (Assisting Qi Immortal Elixir):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (5 qian), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (3 qian), Fu Ling (Poria) (2 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (1 liang), Po Gu Zhi (Cibotii Rhizoma) (3 qian), Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex) (5 qian), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (3 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. After taking four doses, Qi will become prosperous; after another four doses, Qi will become very prosperous. Naturally, endurance will improve, Yang will be strengthened, ejaculation will be forceful, achieving the ideal of "Jade Swallow Throwing into the Bosom."
This formula tonifies Qi but does not tonify Yin, because the disease arises from Yang deficiency, leading to relative Yin excess. If one were to simultaneously tonify Yin, Yang would lose its advantageous dominance. Furthermore, the formula does not directly augment Fire, because when Qi is abundant, Fire generates spontaneously. If one were to simultaneously tonify Fire, Yang would become excessively hyperactive, leading to blazing Fire, which might cause excessive intensity detrimental to conception. This is the subtlety of this prescription.
For this condition, long-term use of Huo Long Dan (Fire Dragon Pill) is also excellent.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (5 liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 liang), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix), Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) (each 5 liang), Rou Cong Rong (Cistanches Herba) (one large piece), Po Gu Zhi (Cibotii Rhizoma), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (each 2 liang), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (8 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (3 liang), Bei Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (1 liang).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 5 qian daily, washed down with wine. After one month of use, erections will occur, allowing for prolonged intercourse.
When a man ejaculates, producing only one or two drops of semen, such individuals cannot father children. People attribute this to a deficiency of Kidney Water, but who would know it is due to thin congenital endowment? Those with little semen must have robust bodies. I say their endowment is thin; who would believe this? It is unknown that if semen is scant, it cannot fully penetrate the uterus. Those endowed with thick heavenly essence, are they truly like this? Since Heaven has given a thin endowment, and a physician wishes to go against nature to provide thickness, it seems an impossible numerical destiny. However, Heavenly Heart is benevolent; if humans have a heart towards goodness, physicians have methods for conception. Scant semen, though belonging to heaven, may not necessarily be formed by human action alone. Relying on strength and overusing physical power, worrying excessively and fatiguing the mind, eating too much and injuring the stomach—all these consume semen. If one can remain indifferent to extinguish mental agitation, regulate diet to nourish the stomach, and add formulas that tonify essence and marrow, how can those with scant semen not produce many offspring? I, Shu Duo, received a secret transmission from an extraordinary person, possessing a true method to add spirit and essence. Now writing this book, I dare not conceal it. I transmit it to save generations of childless people. Use the formula Sheng Sui Yu Lin Dan (Generating Marrow Nurturing Unicorn Elixir):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (6 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus) (10 liang), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) (1 jin), Sang Shen (Mori Fructus) (dried, 1 jin), Lu Rong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum) (one pair), Gui Jiao (Asini Corii Colla) (8 liang), Yu Biao (Bladder of Fish) (4 liang), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen) (4 liang), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (10 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (5 liang), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) (6 liang), Bei Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (3 liang), Rou Cong Rong (Cistanches Herba) (6 liang), Ren Bao (Human Placenta) (two pieces), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Seed) (2 liang), Gou Qi Zi (Lycii Fructus) (8 liang).
Grind each into fine powder, knead with honey into pills. Take 5 qian daily morning and evening, washed down with plain boiled water. After three months of use, semen volume increases and erection becomes firm. How could conception fail?
The brilliance of this formula lies in using purely ingredients that fill essence and nourish marrow, without metallic/mineral substances that might cause harm, allowing for long-term safe use. Not only does it aid conception but also grants longevity, potentially reaching a hundred years. Even named Hundred Year Pill, why not?
For this condition, long-term use of Tian Jing Si Xu Wan (Adding Essence Continuing Lineage Pill) is also very good.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Lu Jiao Jiao (Cervi Cornus Colla), Gui Ban Jiao (Testudinis Carapacis et Plastratis Colla), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Gou Qi Zi (Lycii Fructus) (each 6 liang), Shan Zhu Yu Rou (Corni Fructus Flesh), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen), Rou Cong Rong (Cistanches Herba) (each 5 liang), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Yu Biao (Bladder of Fish, stir-fried), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix) (each 8 liang), Bei Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (1 liang), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Seed) (3 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (1 liang).
Grind each into powder, dissolve the gelatinous ingredients in wine and mix in, form pills. Take 8 qian daily. After two months of use, semen volume increases and pregnancy is possible.
A man may have vigorous energy and engage in prolonged intercourse. Upon ejaculation, the semen feels like hot soup poured into the uterus. The woman receives it and is startled, resulting in infertility. People attribute this to prolonged intercourse causing the woman's arousal to fade, leading to uterine closure preventing sperm entry. Who knows this is incorrect? The fetal chamber resides between the Heart and Kidney, preferring warmth over cold. Excessive cold causes yin coagulation, and the fetal chamber rejects it; excessive heat causes yang hyperactivity, and the fetal chamber suffers discomfort. During intercourse, the opening of the woman's fetal chamber invariably opens. How could she swallow and then spit out? Only if it is excessively hot does the opening desire to close but cannot, wanting to receive but unable to do so, forcing expulsion to enjoy coolness. Thus, women who menstruate after being pregnant for dozens of days suffer from conception followed by miscarriage, not due to external injury, but because the hot semen makes preservation difficult. To ensure permanent fetal stability, it seems appropriate to drain excess fire. But fire cannot be drained; draining fire injures the Stomach, destroying vital energy, making conception impossible. The treatment method should tonify the Water in the Kidney, so that when Water is abundant, Fire levels itself. Use the formula Ping Huo San (Calming Fire Powder):
Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) (1 liang), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) (5 qian), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) (3 qian), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) (2 qian), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex) (2 qian), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (3 qian), Jin Cha Shi Hu (Dendrobii Nobile Caulis) (3 qian), Sha Shen (Glehniae Radix) (3 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. After ten doses, semen is no longer overly hot. Intercourse leads to conception, celebrating peace and safety.
This formula tonifies Yin without great cold risk, drains fire while generating Yin. Without needing to resolve turbidity, it naturally gains the benefit of retreating inflammation. The way to facilitate male offspring lies here. Why add Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) and Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), drugs of great bitterness and cold, to seek effect?
For this condition, long-term use of Zhen Yang Wan (Suppressing Yang Pill) is also good.
Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) (8 liang), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Fu Ling (Poria), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex), Sha Shen (Glehniae Radix) (each 4 liang), Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Tian Men Dong (Asparagi Tuber), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen) (each 2 liang), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) (8 liang).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 5 qian daily, washed down with plain boiled water. After one month, semen becomes mild and can be retained.
When a man ejaculates, feeling piercing cold, he naturally struggles to conceive. People attribute this to extreme decline of Mingmen Fire, but who knows it is because the Fire of the Pericardium fails to assist? The Fire of the Mingmen generates below; it must be assisted by the Upper Fire of the Pericardium. Then upper and lower support each other, filling the bone marrow with warm qi, ensuring that during ejaculation, there is nothing but vital energy. If the Mingmen has fire to stimulate Yang, but the Pericardium lacks fire to assist Water, the Qi of the Mingmen scatters. How can it drum up remaining fire to propagate within the seminal ducts? Worldly treatments only assist Mingmen Fire, neglecting to benefit the Pericardium Flame. Thus, cold semen cannot rapidly recover, making conception difficult. Use the formula Wen Jing Yu Zi Dan (Warming Essence Nurturing Offspring Elixir):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (2 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (1 liang), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (1 liang), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen) (3 liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 liang), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (half jin), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (3 liang), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix) (2 liang), Chao Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, stir-fried) (3 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus) (3 liang), Lu Rong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum) (one pair), Rou Cong Rong (Cistanches Herba) (3 liang), Po Gu Zhi (Cibotii Rhizoma) (3 liang), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood) (2 liang), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Seed) (1 liang), Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus Rotundus) (5 qian), Rou Guo (Myristicae Semen) (1 liang).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 1 liang daily, washed down with wine. After one course, semen becomes warm.
Childlessness due to cold semen: now that cold semen easily transforms into warm semen, how can there be dreamless emissions like the black bear? Moreover, this formula warms while tonifying; although it aids the Pericardium flame, it still benefits Mingmen Qi. With both fires warming together, spring warmth pervades the body. I do not believe one cannot conceive.
For this condition, long-term use of Sheng Han Yan Si Dan (Overcoming Cold Extending Lineage Elixir) is also effective.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (6 liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix), Lu Jiao Jiao (Cervi Cornus Colla), Yin Yang Huo (Epimedii Folium) (each 8 liang), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) (one piece), Fu Ling (Poria), Chao Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, stir-fried) (each 4 liang), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (6 liang), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (each 2 liang), Zhi Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried) (1 liang), Guang Mu Xiang (Costi Radix) (5 qian), Rou Cong Rong (Cistanches Herba) (one large piece).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 3 qian morning and evening. After two months, semen becomes warm and pregnancy occurs. Note on Fu Zi: Use 3 qian raw Gan Cao (Licorice Root), decoct in one bowl of water, soak thoroughly until soft, slice, and lightly stir-fry until cooked.
A man may have extreme seminal emission/slippage. Upon approaching a woman, he ejaculates immediately. Trying to force pleasure is impossible, and the semen is very thin. People attribute this to weak congenital endowment, but who knows it is dual deficiency of Heart and Kidney? Prolonged intercourse indicates prosperous Mingmen Fire. Although function belongs to Mingmen Fire, control lies in the Heart Palace Fire. Heart Fire is Ministerial Fire (Jun Huo); Mingmen Fire is Assistant Fire (Xiang Huo). When Heart Fire is prosperous, Assistant Fire obeys orders. When Ministerial Fire declines, Heart Fire is displaced by Assistant Fire; control shifts to Assistant Fire, not Ministerial Fire. Thus, when Ministerial Fire moves, Assistant Fire takes the handle. Even if the Heart desires to guard the essence, Assistant Fire secretly sends essence out of the seminal gate. In cases of emission upon seeing the door, not only is Ministerial Fire extremely declined, but Assistant Fire is also not particularly strong. Treatment should tonify the insufficiency of Heart Fire, not drain the excess of Assistant Fire, because draining Assistant Fire further weakens Ministerial Fire. Use the formula Ji Huo Yan Si Dan (Assisting Fire Extending Lineage Elixir):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (3 liang), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (half jin), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix) (half jin), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) (3 liang), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (8 qian), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (2 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (3 liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 liang), Long Gu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi, calcined) (1 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus) (4 liang), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (4 liang), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Seed) (2 liang), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix) (2 liang), Mu Li (Ostreae Concha, calcined) (1 liang), Jin Ying Zi (Chrysanthemi Fructus) (2 liang), Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) (4 liang), Lu Rong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum) (one piece).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 1 liang daily, washed down with plain boiled water, at any time. After one month, condition changes; after two months, one can hold fast; after three months, one can endure long; after one year, one is like a new person.
This formula tonifies both Heart and Kidney, relying not solely on great heat drugs, thus suitable for long-term use to prolong life, not just strengthening Yang for conception. One must abstain from intercourse for three months while taking this medicine to invite lasting joy; otherwise, it is merely a temporary boost for immediate conception.
For this condition, long-term use of Bu Tian Yu Lin Dan (Tonifying Heaven Nurturing Unicorn Elixir) is also wonderful.
Lu Rong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum) (one piece), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (10 liang), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Rou Cong Rong (Cistanches Herba), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix) (each 6 liang), Chao Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, stir-fried), Zhi Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, honey-fried), Yin Yang Huo (Epimedii Folium), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) (each 8 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), She Chuang Zi (Cnidii Fructus), Tu Si Zi (Cuscutae Semen) (each 4 liang), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Seed), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (each 3 liang), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) (5 liang), Bei Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Suo Yang (Cynomorphi Herba) (each 2 liang), Ren Bao (Human Placenta, fire-baked) (one piece), Hai Gou Shen (Sea Dog Kidney) (one root), Ge Jie (Geckos) (two pairs), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (1 liang), Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus Rotundus) (5 qian).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 5 qian morning and evening. After two months, one can endure long and conceive. If Hai Gou Shen is unavailable, substitute with two large Ha Ma (Sea Horse). If She Chuang Zi is not used, substitute with 7 qian Fu Zi (Prepared Aconite Root), processed by soaking in decoction of 3 qian Gan Cao (Licorice Root).
Men with obese bodies often have excessive phlegm-fluids, frequently failing to conceive. This is because dampness mixes with semen, entering the uterus and flowing back out. Semen must be pure; if dampness mixes with it, fetuses rarely survive, and even if formed, infants die young, unable to live long. Human diet should transform into essence, not phlegm. If transformed into essence, how does dampness enter? It is unknown that for those with much phlegm, although diet transforms into essence, dampness is hard to resolve. Thus, when essence enters the Kidney, dampness enters with it. Because the whole body is filled with phlegm-qi, the Kidney wishes to avoid dampness but cannot. Once dampness enters the Kidney, the essence is not pure. How can it nurture offspring? Treatment must prioritize resolving phlegm. However, merely eliminating phlegm makes it hard to resolve. Phlegm generation stems from Cold Qi of the Kidney; excessive phlegm results from weak Stomach Qi. The Stomach is the closing gate for the Kidney, not the Kidney for the Stomach. Due to long-standing errors in copying the *Nei Jing* (Inner Canon), people mistakenly believe the Kidney is the closing gate for the Stomach. Stomach Qi weakens first, failing to close the gate for the Kidney. The Kidney Palace is cold, lacking True Fire operation, making it difficult to dry dampness. Water floods to form phlegm, floating upward rather than descending. Therefore, treating phlegm requires treating both the Kidney and Stomach meridians. Strengthening Stomach Qi resolves phlegm; tonifying Kidney Qi eliminates phlegm. Use the formula Yi Nan Hua Yu Dan (Facilitating Male Nurturing Offspring Elixir):
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) (5 qian), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (5 qian), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Tuber) (3 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 qian), Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) (5 qian), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) (5 qian), Fu Ling (Poria) (1 liang), Yi Ren (Coicis Semen) (5 qian), Bai Jie Zi (Sinapis Semen) (3 qian), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (2 qian), He Li Le (Terminaliachebulae Fructus) (5 fen), Yi Zhi Ren (Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus) (1 qian), Rou Dou Kou (Myristicae Semen) (one piece).
Decoct in water and take orally. After four doses, phlegm decreases; after another four doses, phlegm decreases further; after one month, phlegm-dampness is entirely removed. Intercourse becomes vigorous, and born children will surely live long.
Generally, this formula tonifies the Kidney 30% and strengthens the Stomach 70%. When the Stomach is strong, the Spleen becomes stronger. Since the strong Stomach can separate and eliminate water-qi, how can dampness enter the Kidney? The Kidney is warm, sufficient for operation. Even if water-dampness enters the Kidney, it naturally separates and drains via the Weilu (tailgate). Thus, essence becomes pure. Perfect offspring is inevitable logic.
For this condition, long-term use of Chun Yi Wan (Pure Unity Pill) is also wonderful.
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) (each 2 jin), Yi Ren (Coicis Semen) (half jin), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (4 liang), Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus Rotundus) (1 liang).
Grind each into fine powder, form pills with honey. Take 1 liang daily. After one month of use, conception is achieved.
Men with sallow, yellow complexion who cannot conceive suffer from Blood deficiency. Even if they conceive, the child will likely be emaciated, eventually developing pediatric consumption (Er Lao). People attribute this to the child's improper diet or blame the mother's thin milk. Who knows the father lacks Blood to give? People speak of Father's Essence and Mother's Blood, unaware fathers also have Blood. When Qi and Blood are sufficient, Essence is sufficient; when Qi and Blood are complete, Essence is complete. If the father has surplus Qi but insufficient Blood, the Essence naturally becomes biased. Though fortunate to form a shape, how can there be no bias-induced illness? Congenital Formless Blood generates Postnatal Form Blood; conversely, how can Postnatal Form Blood generate Congenital Formless Blood? Thus, even nursing on mother's milk and consuming rich foods cannot generate the child's Blood to sustain life completely. Therefore, if the father lacks Blood, how can he not urgently tonify it? Blood cannot be generated quickly; one must tonify Qi. Since Blood deficiency stems from Qi decline, tonifying Qi to generate Blood leaves no doubt. Use the formula Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang (Angelica Tonifying Blood Decoction):
Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (5 qian), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (1 liang), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata) (5 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally.
One might think Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) should be used for tonifying Blood. The reason for not using it is that Si Wu Tang tonifies Blood but does not tonify Qi. Although named Bu Xue Tang (Tonifying Blood Decoction), it actually tonifies Qi. The original formula uses 1 liang of Huang Qi and 5 qian of Dang Gui, emphasizing Qi tonification over Blood tonification. I now use Dang Gui as the Sovereign drug, Huang Qi as the Minister drug, assisted by Shu Di Huang for nourishing Yin. This emphasizes Blood tonification, lightly tonifying Qi. Naturally, Qi generates Blood, not Blood assisting Qi. With both Qi and Blood prosperous, childless people easily conceive. With deep roots and solid foundations, how could there be sighs of infant mortality?
For this condition, long-term use of Zi Xue Sheng Zhen Wan (Nourishing Blood Reviving Pill) is also effective.
Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (2 jin), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix) (each 1 jin).
Grind each into powder, form pills with honey. Take 5 qian morning and evening, washed down with plain boiled water. After two months of use, Blood becomes prosperous, conceiving children who will surely live long.
Men with chronic depression who fail to conceive are attributed by people to stagnant Mingmen Fire, but who knows it is stagnation of Heart and Liver Qi? Fire nature flames upward; sorrow prevents Fire Qi from rising, joy causes Fire Qi to expand greatly. Wood nature spreads smoothly; obstruction suppresses Wood Qi, while freedom allows Wood Qi to stretch unyieldingly. Facing rough circumstances and discordant human relations, the Heart desires joy but cannot achieve it; the Liver desires ease but cannot obtain it. Eventually, excitement fades leading to emptiness. How can romantic feelings move within, or bedroom thoughts shift? Over time, impotence occurs. How can one conceive? Although human relations cannot change and circumstances cannot reverse, Heart Qi can indeed be relaxed, and Liver Qi can indeed be smoothed. By relaxing Heart Qi, Fire achieves its flaming-upward nature; by smoothing Liver Qi, Wood achieves its spreading nature. Naturally, Wood and Fire connect, Heart and Kidney combine. One can endure long to dispel sorrow, enjoy fully to find pleasure. The way to facilitate male offspring lies herein. Use the formula Wang You San (Forget Sorrow Powder):
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 qian), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood) (3 qian), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix) (2 qian), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (5 fen), Yu Jin (Curcumae Radix) (1 qian), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (3 qian), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix) (2 qian), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (5 fen), Bai Jie Zi (Sinapis Semen) (2 qian), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (5 fen), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) (3 qian), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex) (3 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. After ten doses, the depressed Qi does not know how it was resolved.
Due to depression, one cannot conceive. Once depression resolves, can one still fail to conceive? The formula contains ingredients that resolve depression, often including those that stimulate Yang and aid conception. If changed from decoction to pill and taken long-term, depression resolves completely. None will fail to conceive.
For this condition, long-term use of Shi Xing Wan (Suitable Excitement Pill) is also good.
Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (1 jin), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Ba Ji Tian (Morindae Officinalis Radix) (each 8 liang), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix) (2 liang), Chao Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, stir-fried), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (each 4 liang), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (8 qian), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood) (6 liang), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (8 qian), Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) (each 1 liang).
Grind each into fine powder, form pills with honey. Take 4 qian daily, washed down with plain boiled water. After one month, the chest feels open and refreshing, enabling conception.
Men with congenitally small genitalia who cannot conceive attribute this to fate. Who knows artificial intervention can also create change? Genitalia size is divided by society into noble and base, saying nobles are mostly small, basely large. Creation gives less here, more there. Although the base...
