This is a manifestation of Qi deficiency.
Li Dongyuan stated: Numbness and tingling result from the stagnation of Qi movement. Treatment should involve tonification. The Qi in the Lungs is obstructed by damp-phlegm and static blood.
Numbness in all ten fingers indicates that there is damp-phlegm and static blood in the Stomach.
(If caused by phlegm, use Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) and Zhuli (Bamboo Sap).)
Jue syndrome refers to coldness of the hands and feet. Heat Jue involves counterflow; it is not a Cold pattern. It arises from Qi deficiency and Blood deficiency.
Use Tiaowei Chengqi Tang (Regulate the Stomach and Order the Downward Decoction), combined with exterior-resolving herbs for external contraction, added with Ginger Juice and Wine.
Internal Fire arises from Cold stagnation transforming into Heat. Facial coldness requires clearing Stomach Heat.
Generally, this is mostly due to Phlegm-Heat; only Tongyou (Camellia Seed Oil) should be used to induce vomiting. Alternatively, use Shexiang (Moschus) with reverse-flowing water to induce vomiting.
Another prescription: Take one piece of Li Shigenpi (Prunus salicina Root Bark), hold it in the mouth, and apply juice crushed from Li Shigen (Prunus salicina Root) to the neck; immediate effect after one application. Use roots freshly picked from the garden.
Dai Yunli said: It belongs to Phlegm-Heat. Chanhou Feng (Throat-Wrinding Wind) refers to swelling both inside and outside the throat. Use Tongyou (Camellia Seed Oil), probing the throat with a goose feather to induce vomiting. Another method: Use Dengyoujiao (Lampwick Oil Residue) to probe and induce vomiting. Yet another prescription: Use Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix) with the heart removed, mixed with water, and applied to the neck; immediate effect after one application.
It mostly belongs to Deficiency patterns. Heat in the Blood wanders without restraint, lodging in the throat. Use Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) honey-fried, and Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica).
Deficiency: Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Zhuli (Bamboo Sap); suitable when there is no Excess Fire.
Heat: Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Xiaoshi (Natrii Nitras).
Grind the above into fine powder, mix with Honey and Ginger Juice, and hold in the mouth to swallow.
For Blood deficiency, add Zhuli (Bamboo Sap) to Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction).
For those who do not improve after taking Cooling medicines, this is due to insufficient Qi in the Middle Jiao, causing Deficient Fire to float upward without restraint. Use Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction); for severe cases, add Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), or holding Guigui (Cinnamomi Ramulus) in the mouth is also acceptable.
Another prescription: Use Xiguajiangshui (Watermelon Juice Water); for severe mouth pain, drink this slowly. In winter, burn Ziliupi (Punica granatum Pericarpium) to ash and hold it in the mouth.
(Blood Heat entering the Lungs.)
Add Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Honghua (Carthami Flos), and Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) wine-fried to Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction); decoct, add a few drops of good Wine, then mix with Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces) powder fried in a wok; effective upon ingestion. Additionally, use Tongyou (Camellia Seed Oil) mixed with Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), heat the oil using Tiandiaoteng (Uncaria rhynchophylla Vine or similar climbing vine), and apply externally.
If the abscess has ruptured and been invaded by Wind, it is incurable. Use Soufeng Tang (Search for Wind Decoction) to induce vomiting. (From *Yilei Yuanrong*)
To contract the wound and close the sore, only Hehuan Pi (Albiziae Cortex) and Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix) decocted in water for drinking are effective.
