These are the key points of diseases governed by the Five Movements (Wu Yun).
Sudden onset of rigidity, limb pain, abdominal tension, and shortening/twisting of sinews all stem from the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian and Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian, which are the disease-causing characteristics of Jueyin Wind-Wood Qi.
Diseases manifesting as wheezing, vomiting, acid regurgitation, sudden diarrhea with tenesmus, difficult calf spasms, turbid urine or hematuria/diarrhea, tumors, goiter, tubercles, sores, rashes, and macules all relate to the Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian and Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian, resulting from dysfunction of the True Heart and Small Intestine Qi.
Conditions involving rigidity, fluid retention, cholera, fullness in the middle jiao, various diaphragmatic obstruction syndromes, heaviness of the body, vomiting/diarrhea, edema, flaccidity syndromes, and muscles that are loose like mud and do not rebound upon pressure all belong to the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian and Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian, caused by the central Qi of the Spleen and Stomach.
Heat diseases causing mental confusion, twitching and convulsions, palpitations, spasms, sudden aphonia, vertigo, restlessness, mania, cursing, fright, and counterflow of Qi, along with swelling, pain, sneezing, vomiting, sores, throat obstruction, tinnitus, deafness, difficulty swallowing, blurred vision, and cataracts, or severe shivering as if losing one's spirit, sudden illness, sudden death, and sudden profuse diarrhea, all belong to the Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian and Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, caused by the Qi of the Sanjiao and Pericardium.
Astringency, dryness, blockage, and skin dryness with scaling/cracking are pathologies of Yangming Dryness-Metal, involving the Lung and Large Intestine Qi.
Clear and cold excretions from above and below, masses (zheng jia), hernias, hard nodules, abdominal fullness and acute pain, dysentery with white clear discharge, lack of appetite after eating, vomit/dysentery with a fishy odor, inability to flex/extend, and cold reversal (jue ni) all belong to the Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian.
