[Original Text] The Eight Deities Daoyin Method of Wang Ziqiao prolongs life, benefits longevity, and eliminates a hundred diseases.
The method states: The pillow should be four cun high; the feet should be five cun apart from each other; the hands should be three cun away from the body. Loosen clothes and let hair down, lie flat on your back (Supine position). Do not have any thoughts, stabilize the mind, then slowly inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth, directing the Qi to each Zang organ respectively. After reaching them, start again. If you wish to stop, first exhaust the Qi to that organ before stopping. Do not forcibly extend the breath; with long practice, it will naturally become longer. When Qi moves in and out, do not let the ears hear it, nor let the nose perceive it; keep it subtle, focused, and long. Then push it to the thigh (Fumian area), leg, etc., valuing awareness above all. It should be as if present and absent. Practice this one hundred times; the abdomen will move, Qi will resonate with audible sound, and the feet will feel warm. Success is achieved. Those who succeed, what disease can afflict them! The throat is like a silver ring, composed of twelve segments connected to the chest. Below connects to the Lung, which is white and lustrous. The front two lobes are high, the back two are low. The Heart ties below it, large at the top and sharp at the bottom, generally red like an unopened lotus flower, hanging upside down on the Lung. The Liver ties below, color pure green, like the neck feathers of a wild duck (Fu), six lobes embracing the Stomach, front two high, back four low. The Gallbladder ties below, like a green silk pouch. The Spleen is in the center, also embracing the Stomach, bright yellow like gold. The Kidneys are like two crouching mice, flanking the spine, aligned with the navel and elbow. To know their height, look down vertically from the upper arm, aligning with the elbow tip. Their color is pure black, wrapped in white fat, distinct white and black. The Stomach is like a plain pouch, noting its rightward curve, without risk of stagnation or filth. The Liver stores Hun (Ethereal Soul), the Lung stores Po (Corporeal Soul), the Heart stores Shen (Spirit), the Spleen stores Yi (Intellect), the Kidney stores Jing (Essence); this is called the "Shen She" (Abode of Spirits). When the Shen She is cultivated, the hundred vessels are harmonized, and pathogenic diseases have no place to reside. The Small Intestine is nine chi long, corresponding to the Nine Provinces (another saying: Nine Earths, length is two zhang four chi).
For those wishing to practice Daoyin, close eyes for Deficiency patterns, open eyes for Excess patterns. Direct Qi according to the afflicted area. Do not strictly stop at seven breaths; let Qi move slowly back and forth, measuring about two hundred steps. Sit slightly back, swallow Qi gently. If after five or six times there is no improvement, repeat the method until cured. For various ailments, lie flat, let hair down, slowly inhale through the mouth as per the method, filling the abdomen to the limit, breath nearly ceasing, then slowly exhale through the nose dozens of times. "Tonify the Deficient, Drain the Excess." Close the mouth, warm the Qi, and swallow thirty times. Wait for abdominal rumbling, then stop. Repeat back and forth two hundred times; if not cured, continue. For diseases in the throat and chest, use a seven-cun high pillow; for diseases below the heart, use a four-cun high pillow; for diseases below the navel, remove the pillow. Inhaling through the mouth and exhaling through the nose is called Tonification; closing the mouth, warming the Qi, and swallowing is called Draining. Methods for holding breath to treat diseases: To guide head diseases, tilt the head back; to guide waist and foot diseases, extend the ten toes upward; to guide chest diseases, pull the ten toes; to guide arm diseases, cover the arms. To remove cold-heat discomforts in the abdomen, such as catching cold with fever, hold breath and distend the abdomen. When wanting to breathe, slowly exhale through the nose. After finishing, repeat until cured.

[Explanation] The Eight Deities Zang Organ Daoyin Method of Wang Ziqiao (Heart, Liver, Spleen, Lung, Kidney, Gallbladder, Stomach, Small Intestine are called the Eight Deities Zang Organs) has the effect of prolonging life, benefiting longevity, and eliminating a hundred diseases.
The method of practice is: Adopt a supine position, pillow height four cun, distance between feet five cun, hands three cun from body. Loosen clothes, let hair down, exclude distracting thoughts, gather mind and stabilize intention. Then slowly inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth, using intention to guide Qi to each Zang organ. After reaching, repeat. To stop, first exhaust Qi to that organ, then stop. Do not forcibly extend breath; with long practice, it naturally becomes deep and long. Breath movement should be slight, imperceptible to ears and nose, fine, slow, soft, even, and deep. At this stage, guide Qi to thighs and calves, valuing sensation of Qi arrival. Do not use excessive intention; reach a state where Qi and intention are as if present and absent. Practice one hundred times; abdomen moves loudly, audible to ears, soles feel warm. One who completes this method has no diseases.
What is the shape of the "Eight Deities Zang Organs"? Generally, the throat (trachea) is like a silver ring, composed of twelve segments connected to the chest. The trachea connects downward to the Lung, white and lustrous, front two lobes high, back two low. The Heart ties below the Lung, large top, sharp bottom, like a red unopened lotus bud, hanging upside down. The Liver ties below, pure green, like wild duck neck feathers, six lobes embracing the Stomach, front two high, back four low. The Gallbladder ties below Liver, like a green silk pouch. The Spleen is central, embracing Stomach, bright yellow like gold. Kidneys are like two crouching mice, flanking spine, aligned with navel and elbow. Color pure black, wrapped in white fat, distinct. Stomach is like a clean pouch, curved right, no stagnation. Liver stores Hun, Lung stores Po, Heart stores Shen, Spleen stores Yi, Kidney stores Jing. These five Zang organs are the abodes of Spirit, Hun, Po, Yi, Jing, called "Shen She". When normal, hundred vessels harmonize, pathogens cannot reside. Small Intestine is nine chi long, corresponding to Nine Provinces (or Nine Earths, two zhang four chi).
Practitioners: Close eyes for Deficiency, open for Excess. Guide Qi by afflicted area. Do not stick to seven breaths limit; let Qi move slowly, about two hundred times. Sit, swallow Qi evenly. If no effect after five-six times, repeat until cured. Patients lie flat, hair down, inhale slowly through mouth to fill abdomen deeply but subtly, nearly ceasing, exhale slowly through nose dozens of times. Follow "Tonify Deficiency, Drain Excess". Close mouth, warm Qi, swallow thirty times, stop when abdomen rumbles. Repeat two hundred times; if not cured, continue. Pillow heights: Throat/Chest seven cun; Below heart four cun; Below navel none. Breathing: Mouth in/Nose out is Tonification; Closed mouth/warm/swallow is Draining. Holding breath methods: Head disease - tilt head back; Waist/Foot disease - extend toes; Chest disease - pull toes; Arm disease - cover arms; Abdominal cold-heat - hold breath/distend abdomen. Exhale slowly through nose when needed, repeat until cured.
