One method: Hook and pull the toes of both feet, hold for five breaths then stop, guide the qi in the abdomen to eliminate hernia (Shan Jia) and abdominal masses, and unblock various orifices.
Another method: Sit with legs extended, grasp the big toes with both hands, positioning the feet upward and head downward, stretch to the extreme, hold for five breaths then stop, guide the qi in the abdomen to circulate throughout the body, eliminate hernia (Shan Jia) and abdominal masses, and unblock all orifices. Frequent practice leads to vigor, sharp hearing and vision, and a slender physique.
Another method: Use only a high pillow while lying supine, keep the mind calm and qi steady, and the heels will naturally retract.
Another method: Place one foot flat on the ground, bend the knee of the other foot, embrace the area below Dubi (ST35) with both hands, pull urgently toward the body to the extreme, alternate left and right for four times seven (28) repetitions. This eliminates hemorrhoids, Wu Lao (Five Exhaustions), and stagnation at Zusanli (ST36).
Another method: Squat-sit with knees together and feet spread apart, hold breath for two cycles, treating the Five Hemorrhoids (Wu Zhi).
Another method: Embrace the feet with both hands without moving the head, directing the feet toward the mouth to receive qi, dispersing seasonal qi, perform twenty-one (three times seven) cycles. To achieve the desired effect, twist the torso to the left and right sides to the extreme, stretching the waist while keeping it immobile. This eliminates coldness in the limbs, upper and lower back, bone marrow, blood, and tendons, as well as stifling hemorrhoids.
Another method: Step on each other's feet, contract urgently toward the genital end, cup the knees with both hands outwardly, press to the extreme for two times seven (14) cycles, extend vigorously to both sides of the body for two times seven (14) cycles, and thrust the waist forward and backward. This eliminates Heart Labor Hemorrhoid disease.
The *Book of Cultivating Reality* states: In spring, the "Xu" sound brightens the eyes and supports the Liver; at Summer Solstice, the "He" sound causes Heart Fire to subside naturally. In autumn, the "Si" sound moistens the Metal Lungs; in winter, the "Chui" sound ensures peace in Kan (Kidney/Water). The "Xi" sound dispels heat from the Sanjiao (Triple Burner); frequent "Hu" sounds throughout the four seasons aid Spleen digestion. Remember not to make loud noises that disturb the ears and mouth; its efficacy surpasses precious divine elixirs.
The rhyme states: When practicing "Xu" for the Liver, open the eyes wide; when practicing "Si" for the Lungs, raise both hands high. When practicing "He" for the Heart, cross hands high behind the head; when practicing "Chui" for the Kidneys, sit flat hugging the knees. When practicing "Hu" for the Spleen, purse the lips; for Guest Heat in the Sanjiao, lie down practicing "Xi". Practice "Xu" frequently in the four seasons, but do not use "Chui" during the Eight Festivals. This is because the Liver belongs to Ministerial Fire, having draining methods but no tonifying ones. The Kidney belongs to True Water, having tonifying methods but no draining ones.
"Lxu" for the Liver treats dry throat, dusty complexion, excessive red eye discharge, tearing, pain, hypochondriac pain, yellow-red urine, or dysuria.
"He" for the Heart treats irritability, throat ulcers, heat swelling, excessive sweating, heat in palms, dry throat, and thirst.
"Hu" for the Spleen treats hot phlegm saliva, jaundice, throat obstruction, nasal congestion/epistaxis, dry mouth/tongue pain, heavy body, and abdominal distension.
"Si" for the Lungs treats wheezing, coughing, irritability/thirst, chest/diaphragm fullness with phlegm, and wind-heat sweating in palms.
"Chui" for the Kidneys treats wasting diseases, emaciation, dark complexion, dry mouth, tinnitus, swollen throat/pharynx, inner thigh pain, and burning pain in soles.
"Xi" for the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) treats cheek pain, throat obstruction, and deafness with a muddled sensation.
The above treat pathogenic factors of the Six Meridians and root diseases. However, if there is no organ deficiency, supplementation relies on the flavors and aromas of medicines and food. The classics state: Form relies on flavor for nourishment, thus flavor returns to form; Qi nourishes form, thus form returns to Qi. When Qi transforms, Essence generates; when flavors harmonize, Form grows. Therefore, the Five Flavors are suitable. If the Five Emotions exceed limits and cannot be treated by medicine, the principle of Five Elements overcoming should be used.
Worry overcomes Anger. The Liver belongs to Wood, associated with Anger. Excess anger harms itself. Thus, anger injures the Liver, so it is controlled by what overcomes it (Metal/Worry).
Fear overcomes Joy. The Heart belongs to Fire, associated with Joy. Excess joy harms itself. Thus, joy injures the Heart, so it is controlled by what overcomes it (Water/Fear).
Anger overcomes Pondering. The Spleen belongs to Earth, associated with Pondering. Excess pondering harms itself. Thus, pondering injures the Spleen, so it is controlled by what overcomes it (Wood/Anger).
Joy overcomes Worry. The Lung belongs to Metal, associated with Worry. Excess worry harms itself, so it is controlled by what overcomes it (Fire/Joy).
Pondering overcomes Fear. The Kidney belongs to Water, associated with Fear. Excess fear harms itself, so it is controlled by what overcomes it (Earth/Pondering).
The *Collection of Profound Mysteries* states: The profound principle of tonifying True Qi lies in having no affairs in the heart, forgetting both internal and external, letting go of everything, and maintaining control. Yang Qi arises at Zi hour, Yin Qi arises at Wu hour. In a quiet room, wear clothes loosely, clasp fists (Wo Gu), sit upright, cross legs, squat the abdomen. After a moment, rise, protrude the chest, and slightly tilt the head backward, opening the Double Passages of the Jiaji region. Fan the elbows slightly, extend the waist three times. Starting from the Weilu acupoint, feel heat like fire rising from the waist and gathering at Jiaji. Do not open the gates; it becomes very hot and qi strong. Gradually open Jiaji to let qi pass, still looking up, tightly tilting the head back to close the Upper Gate. Do not let it open. You will feel extreme heat and strong qi gradually entering the top of the head to tonify Niwan Palace and the Sea of Marrow, enabling resistance to cold and heat, forming the foundation for longevity. Like before, protrude chest, extend waist, close Jiaji, visualize and ascend to the waist. If fire does not rise, sit quietly and observe internally, repeat according to method until fire rises. Stop after proceeding from Chou hour to Yin hour. This is called "Flying Golden Essence from Behind the Elbow," also known as "Drawing Lead," causing Kidney Qi to generate Liver Qi.
Slightly raise the head and arch the neck, allowing the neck to relax downward. Like fire, nod forward, bow head and curve neck, retract tongue tip near the posterior, pressing against the palate. Saliva will naturally emerge; swallow without rinsing, returning it to Huangting. This is named "Golden Fluid Returning to Elixir." Perform this at any time in the four seasons, from Gen to Xun. In the evening, it is "Restraining the Yang Gate," following the method from Dui to Qian.
