Ascends along the anterior aspect of the medial knee and thigh, enters the abdomen, connects with the Spleen (Pi) and links with the Stomach (Wei). The medial thigh is called "Bi Nei". The area above and below the umbilicus is called the abdomen. 2=Title= Song of Acupoints of the Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian Nine acupoints of the Heart Meridian on the Hand Shaoyin. Ji Quan, Qing Ling, Shao Hai are deep. Ling Dao, Tong Li, Yin Xi are profound. Shen Men, Shao Fu, Shao Chong are sought. Hand Shaoyin, the Heart Meridian. There are nine acupoints in total, eighteen on both sides. ○This meridian has abundant Qi and little Blood. The heart resembles an unopened lotus flower, located below the lungs and above the diaphragm, attached to the fifth thoracic vertebra of the spine. The Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian: Originates in the Heart, emerges to connect with the Heart System, descends through the diaphragm, and links with the Small Intestine. The Heart System has two parts: one connects upward with the Lungs and enters between the two large lobes of the lungs. The other descends from the lung lobes, curves backward, runs along the spine, connects via fine collaterals, penetrates the spinal cord, and communicates with the Kidneys, right at the seventh vertebral segment; generally, the systems of the Five Zang Organs all connect with the Heart, and the Heart connects with the systems of the Five Zang Organs. The Hand Shaoyin Meridian originates in the Heart, follows the lateral side of the Ren Mai, connects with the Heart System, descends through the diaphragm, at the level of two cun above the umbilicus, and links with the Small Intestine.
Its branch: From the Heart System, ascends, flanks the pharynx, and connects with the Eye System. Branch: Emerges from the Heart System, goes outside the Ren Mai, ascends, flanks the pharynx, and connects with the Eye System.
Its main trunk: Again from the Heart System, goes up to the Lungs, and emerges from the axilla. Main trunk: Again from the Heart System, goes straight up to the region of the Lungs. Emerges and follows the axilla, reaching Ji Quan (HT1). The acupoint is located between the tendons in the medial axilla, where the artery enters the chest.

Follows the interior of the shoulder blade, flanks the spine to reach the waist, enters and follows the Lü muscle, links with the Kidney, and belongs to the Bladder. The lower part behind the shoulder is Jianbo. Vertebrae are the Spine. The horizontal bone above the coccyx is the Waist. Flanking the spine is Lü. From Tianzhu downwards, passes Dazhui (GV14), Taodao (GV13), then follows the interior of the shoulder blade, flanks both sides of the spine descending, passes Dazhu (BL11), Fengmen (BL12), Feishu (BL13), Jueyinshu (BL14), Xinshu (BL15), Geshu (BL17), Ganshu (BL18), Danshu (BL19), Pishu (BL20), Weishu (BL21), Sanjiaoshu (BL22), Shenshu (BL23), Dachangshu (BL25), Xiaochangshu (BL27), Pangguangshu (BL28), Zhonglüshu (BL29), and Baihuanxu (BL30). Thus reaching the waist, entering and following the Lü muscle, linking with the Kidney, and descending to belong to the Bladder. ○Dazhui (GV14): Seen in the Du Mai; it is a meeting of the Hand and Foot Three Yang Meridians and the Du Mai. Its branch: From the waist, descends through the buttocks, enters the popliteal fossa. Buttock is Kao. The sides of the hip bone flanking the waist are Ji. Behind Ji is the buttock. Above the gastrocnemius, the bent part behind the knee is Guo. Its branch: From the waist, follows Yaokuo, descends flanking the spine, passes Shangliao (BL31), Ciliao (BL32), Zhongliao (BL33), and Xialiao (BL34). Note: Yaokuo is the sacral bone. Humans have twenty-one vertebral segments. Below the sixteenth vertebra is the sacral bone, where it attaches flanking the spine. The seventeen to twentieth vertebrae, four in total, are attached by the sacral bone, and the eight Liao acupoints are in the first and second spaces flanking the spine. Huiyang is on both sides of the coccyx, so the twenty-first vertebra appears again to end. Also, the Du Mai originates at Changqiang (GV1) in the midline of the spine, below the twenty-first vertebra, ascending to Yangguan (GV15) below the sixteenth vertebra; there are no acupoints from the twentieth to seventeenth vertebra, confirming attachment to the sacral bone clearly. From Huiyang, it descends through the buttocks to Chengfu (BL36), Yinmen (BL37), Fuxi (BL38), Weiyang (BL39), entering Weizhong (BL40) in the popliteal fossa. ○Shangliao (BL31): In the first space, one cun below Yaokuo, in the depression flanking the spine. Ciliao (BL32): In the second space, in the depression flanking the spine. Zhongliao (BL33): In the third space, in the depression flanking the spine. Yinmen (BL37): Six cun below Rouxi (BL38). Fuxi (BL38): One cun above Weiyang; obtain it by extending the knee. Weiyang (BL39): Six cun below Chengfu; take the point with the knee flexed, posterior to the Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian, between the two tendons at the lateral edge of the popliteal fossa. Weizhong (BL40): In the center of the popliteal fossa, in the artery at the crease.
Another branch: Separates from inside the popliteal fossa, descends left and right, penetrates the scapular muscle flanking the spine, passes Bitshu. Muscle of Lü is called Jia, which is the muscle flanking the spine. Its branch: Is the third row of acupoints flanking the spine on both sides, three cun apart. When the meridian moves abnormally: Symptoms include headache striking upwards, eyes feeling like popping out, neck feeling like being pulled, spine pain, waist feeling like breaking, thigh unable to bend, popliteal fossa feeling like binding, calf feeling like tearing, which is called Huai Jue (Ankle Reversal). These are diseases governed by the sinews including: hemorrhoids, malaria, mania and epilepsy, head and neck pain, yellow eyes, tearing, nasal congestion and epistaxis, pain in the neck, back, waist, buttocks, popliteal fossa, calf, and feet, and dysfunction of the little toe. Excess pattern: The pulse at Ren Ying is twice as large as that at Cun Kou. Deficiency pattern: The pulse at Ren Ying is smaller than that at Cun Kou.
