《神仙经》曰∶阳道强坚而易歇，阴道微软而久长。圣人闭口，万物可藏。回转清白，
改易阴阳。应言不言，神明相传。应语不语，神明相与。故万法闭口，藏身之禁法流行，五
脏神明。众人游戏而我独住，众人浩浩而我独静，众人言说而我独嘿，此行禁之道异矣。
《仙经》曰∶凡受禁之法，当先斋戒百日，精心不行淫欲。惟得清净水浴着鲜净衣，口
常不出恶言骂詈，精思静念，勿生异想，一如前章。仍更七日之中，闭口不共人语，乃可受
之∶
正月一日，三月三日，五月五日，七月七日，九月九日。三年之中三遍于此月日受之，
并一心持斋戒不犯则行禁，其验如神。
正月一日受法∶
正月一日平旦寅时，清净澡漱，在无人清净之处，着鲜净衣，不得令人辄见，烧众名香
，正面向东，禹步三匝，勿回转，长跪读启度文曰∶上启三师、神童玉女、天医虑医、一切
诸师、太上老君、诸仙神王、日月五星、二十八宿、北斗三台、诸神仙官属、诸大神王咸知，
弟子某甲受持符禁之法，愿济拔众生苦难，除毒消邪，辟却奸恶万事，如敕急急如太上老君
律令。
都受禁文曰∶
想东方木禁在吾肝中，想南方火禁在吾心中，想西方金禁在吾肺中，想北方水禁在吾肾
中，想中央土禁在吾脾中。
想左青龙、右白虎、前朱雀、后玄武，天师禁驾无事不苦，东王公、西王母。道吾禁有
随当止。急急如太上老君律令讫，还诵所得禁文各三遍，礼一十二拜，仍更七日，勿共人作
一言及恶骂詈等语，七日勿洗手。
三月三日受法∶
三月三日平旦寅时，至东流水上，正面向东立，端心正意读前启度文如正月法，并启江
河四渎、一切水官、四海大龙正，愿知弟子某甲受持禁法，愿大神王立契讫，诵所得禁文各
六遍，礼九拜。
五月五日受法∶
五月五日正中午时，在静处烧香，正面向南立，读启度文讫，诵所得禁文各三遍，礼十
二拜。
七月七日受法∶
七月七日鸡鸣丑时，在静处烧香，正面向西立，读启度文讫，诵所得禁文各三遍，礼七
拜。
九月九日受法∶
九月九日人定亥时，在静处正面向北立，盆盛水，口衔刀，读启度文，投香火长跪，诵
所得禁文，各三遍，礼九拜，此五日处法，用一如正月法。惟所向方及拜数不同耳。
太白仙人受法∶
四月一日，斋戒至八日，立道场四面悬咒，盖烧香燃灯，启醮五方五帝五方禁师五方吞
精啖毒夜义神王，愿知弟子某甲受持禁法咒讫，诵所得禁文各三遍，七日斋戒。
同力受禁法∶
候初雷时举目看电，右手把刀以左手摩之，咒曰∶助我行禁，振声如雷吼，万毒伏闭气
，待雷声尽讫，七日斋戒不出言。一本云∶候初雷时，眼所见物，随便把取唱言声如雷，万
邪皆怖畏，待雷声尽乃弃之（一云口衔刀，手捉大斧摩之，言∶口如毒，手如毒，声如雷吼，
云云）。
神仙王受禁法∶
候燕初来时，仰头看之，以手按地云∶口如毒，以燕去不见乃止。此等洁净斋戒，一如
正月不别，乃至七日不洗手。
天帝太一受禁法∶
初受禁时，在寂静无人之处敷坐，设案烧香，正面向北闭口并足正立，左手持刀，依式
思存，青龙在左，白虎在右，朱雀在前，玄武在后，北斗七星，覆头上柄指前，次思东治大
禁师愿持兵万石赵候骠骑大将军苏平南公八部将军七十二禁师陈师赵师直符小吏、直日童子
护直今日，不得以左为右，以前为后，若有倒错，即依使者法律科罪之。急急如律令。如此
阴念三遍，然后禹步三匝至香水前，叩齿三遍，咒曰∶东方青龙衔水来，南方赤龙衔水来，
西方白龙衔水来，北方黑龙衔水来，中央黄龙衔水来，悉投杯水三台。三台此水非常水，洗
除天秽地秽三十六秽，某甲身秽净除之，急急如律令。三遍咒讫，以水洗目，并 四方上下，
余水自饮之，洗腹内令净想，又读前启度文，然后长跪诵所得禁文各三遍讫，礼四方各再拜
即成，神验。刀子、水盆不得用曾经酒肉、五辛者。
又一法∶
正月一日东方明星出时洗浴，在清净无人之处，白茅为藉，置坐设案烧香火，井花水洗
面目，正面东向并足立，先举左手呼青龙，次举右手呼白虎，前行呼朱雀，后行呼玄武讫。
依前左手持刀，次第思神师，日符禁同法，更无别法也。若欲受符印者，以帛若袋子盛挂着
左手指句之，而擎水盆闭气禹步，依法次第咒请有效也。
七星受咒法∶
正月一日，三月三日，五月五日，七月七日，九月九日。
先以香汤洗浴，取东流水未经用瓦器盛之，以诵所得禁文咒一遍，受人自洗浴于旷野无
人之处，以净草为坐，以瓦器盛水七盏，作七星形，北向，云∶谨启七圣真君，弟子某乙愿
持禁法，禁断邪恶鬼毒之气，救理民众，伏愿降真气，流布臣身，令臣所行符禁应声除瘥，
应手除愈。次第饮前件水各少许，余洗手，不得手捻不净之物，即有大验（一云七佛咒法，
下又有观自存咒法，今并不取）。
黄帝越禁受法∶
黄帝曰∶凡受符禁者，皆清净斋洁百日，不得近死亡产乳房室，三年之中三度。正月一
日，三月三日，五月五日，七月七日，九月九日，以夜众星之下，置神座设案烧香，盆盛水
临刀北面叩齿捻三师目，次第思神讫，禹步三匝，长跪读启度文，又诵所得禁文各三遍，神
验。水盆不得用曾盛酒肉五辛者，临欲越时朱书帛素上，左手持之捻目阴诵咒之，欲行禁时
闭气朱书帛素上，右手持之捻目阴诵咒之。
《神仙经》说：阳刚之道强健坚硬但容易衰竭，阴柔之道微细柔软却持久绵长。圣人闭口不言，万物便可藏匿。回转精气保持清白，改变阴阳的状态。应当说话时却不说话，神明便会相传；应当言语时却沉默不语，神明便会与之相通。因此，万法之中以“闭口”为要，这是隐藏身形的禁法，能使五脏之神明通达。众人嬉戏游玩而我独自静守，众人喧嚣嘈杂而我独自安静，众人谈论不休而我独自缄默，这些行为都是修习禁道的独特途径。
《仙经》说：凡是修习禁法的人，应当先斋戒一百天，专心致志，禁止行房事。只允许用清净的水沐浴，穿着鲜洁的衣服，口中常不出恶言辱骂，精心思考，静心意念，不要产生杂念，完全像前一章所说的那样。接着再经过七天，期间闭口不与别人交谈，才可以接受此法：
正月一日、三月三日、五月五日、七月七日、九月九日。在三年之中，于这几个月的这几日接受此法，只要一心持守斋戒不违犯，施行禁法，其灵验如神。
正月一日接受禁法的方法：
正月一日清晨寅时，清净地洗澡漱口，在无人打扰的清净之处，穿着鲜洁的衣服，不让别人看见，点燃各种名香，正面向东站立，走禹步三圈，不要转身，长跪着诵读启度文说：“上启三位师父、神童玉女、天医虑医、一切诸师、太上老君、各位仙神王、日月五星、二十八宿、北斗三星台、各位神仙官属、各位大神王，请都知道，弟子某甲受持符箓禁咒之法，希望救济拔除众生的苦难，消除毒气邪气，辟除奸恶万事，如同命令一般，急急如太上老君律令。”
总的受禁文说：
想象东方的木禁存在于我的肝脏中，想象南方的火禁存在于我的心脏中，想象西方的金禁存在于我的肺脏中，想象北方的水禁存在于我的肾脏中，想象中央的土禁存在于我的脾脏中。
想象左边是青龙、右边是白虎、前面是朱雀、后面是玄武，天师驾驭禁法，没有事情会受苦，东王公、西王母。我的禁法随从当下停止。急急如太上老君律令。完毕后，再诵读所得的禁文各三遍，礼拜十二次，接着再经过七天，不要与人说一句话以及恶语辱骂等话，七天不要洗手。
三月三日接受禁法的方法：
三月三日清晨寅时，来到向东流动的流水边，正面向东站立，端正心意和意念，诵读前面的启度文，像正月的方法一样，并启奏江河四渎（长江、黄河、淮河、济水）、一切水官、四海大龙王，希望知道弟子某甲受持禁法，希望大神王立刻立契完毕，诵读所得的禁文各六遍，礼拜九次。
五月五日接受禁法的方法：
五月五日正午时分，在安静的地方烧香，正面向南站立，读完启度文后，诵读所得的禁文各三遍，礼拜十二次。
七月七日接受禁法的方法：
七月七日鸡鸣丑时，在安静的地方烧香，正面向西站立，读完启度文后，诵读所得的禁文各三遍，礼拜七次。
九月九日接受禁法的方法：
九月九日日暮亥时，在安静的地方正面向北站立，盆里盛水，嘴里含着刀，诵读启度文，投入香火长跪，诵读所得的禁文，各三遍，礼拜九次。这五天的处法，使用一如正月的方法。只是朝向的方向和拜的次数不同罢了。
太白仙人接受禁法的方法：
四月一日开始斋戒直到八日，设立道场四面悬挂咒语，盖上烧香燃灯，启醮五方五帝、五方禁师、五方吞精食毒夜叉神王，希望知道弟子某甲受持禁法咒语完毕，诵读所得的禁文各三遍，斋戒七天。
同力接受禁法的方法：
等到初雷响起时，抬头看闪电，右手拿着刀用左手抚摸它，咒语说：“助我行禁，声音震动如雷吼，万种毒气伏藏闭气”，等到雷声结束完毕，斋戒七天不出声。另一种版本说：等到初雷响起时，眼睛所看到的物体，随便拿取唱言声音如雷，万种邪气都恐惧畏惧，等到雷声结束才丢弃它（一种说法是嘴里含着刀，手拿着大斧抚摸它，说：“口如毒，手如毒，声音如雷吼，等等”）。
神仙王接受禁法的方法：
等到燕子刚开始来时，仰头看它，用手按着地面说：“口如毒”，等到燕子飞走看不见才停止。这些都要洁净斋戒，一如正月不特别区分，甚至七天不洗手。
天帝太一接受禁法的方法：
初次接受禁法时，在寂静无人的地方铺设坐具，设置案桌烧香，正面向北闭口并足正立，左手持刀，依照样式存想，青龙在左边，白虎在右边，朱雀在前面，玄武在后面，北斗七星，覆盖在头上勺柄指向前方，接着想象东方治理的大禁师，希望手持兵器万石赵候骠骑大将军苏平南公、八部将军、七十二禁师、陈师赵师、直符小吏、直日童子护持今日，不得把左当作右，把前当作后，如果有颠倒错乱，就依据使者的法律定罪。急急如律令。如此在心中默念三遍，然后走禹步三圈到香水前，叩齿三遍，咒语说：“东方青龙衔水来，南方赤龙衔水来，西方白龙衔水来，北方黑龙衔水来，中央黄龙衔水来，全部投入杯水三星台。三星台的这水不是普通的水，洗除天上的污秽、地上的污秽、三十六种污秽，某甲身体的污秽净除，急急如律令。”三遍咒语完毕，用水洗眼睛，并洗四方上下，剩下的水自己喝下去，洗净腹内，想象又读前面的启度文，然后长跪诵读所得的禁文各三遍完毕，向四方各拜两次即成，神验。刀子、水盆不得使用曾经装过酒肉、五辛的。
又一种方法：
正月一日东方明星出现时洗浴，在清净无人的地方，用白茅草作为垫子，放置坐具设案烧香火，用井花水洗脸面，正面向东并足站立，先举起左手呼唤青龙，其次举起右手呼唤白虎，前行呼唤朱雀，后行呼唤玄武完毕。依照前面左手持刀，依次想象神师，日符禁同法，更没有别的方法了。如果想要接受符印，用丝帛或者袋子盛放挂在左手指勾住它，然后擎着水盆闭气走禹步，依照方法依次咒请有效。
七星接受咒法的方法：
正月一日、三月三日、五月五日、七月七日、九月九日。
先用香汤洗浴，取向东流动的水未经使用的瓦器盛放，用诵读所得的禁文咒一遍，让人自己在旷野无人的地方洗浴，用干净的草作为坐具，用瓦器盛水七盏，摆成七星形状，向北，说：“谨启七圣真君，弟子某乙愿意持守禁法，禁断邪恶鬼毒之气，救理民众，伏愿降下真气，流布臣身，让臣所行的符禁应声除病痊愈，应手除愈。”依次喝前件水各少许，其余洗手，不得用手触碰不干净的东西，就有大灵验（一种说法是七佛咒法，下面又有观自存咒法，现在都不采用）。
黄帝越禁接受法的方法：
黄帝说：凡是接受符禁的人，都要清净斋洁一百天，不得靠近死亡、产房、乳房室，三年之中三次。正月一日、三月三日、五月五日、七月七日、九月九日，在夜晚众星之下，放置神座设案烧香，盆盛水临刀北面叩齿捻三师目，依次想象神灵完毕，走禹步三圈，长跪读启度文，又诵读所得的禁文各三遍，神验。水盆不得使用曾经盛放过酒肉五辛的，临欲越过时朱砂写在白绢上，左手拿着它捻目阴诵咒之，想要行禁时闭气朱砂写在白绢上，右手拿着它捻目阴诵咒之。
The *Shenxian Jing* (Scripture of Immortals) states: The Yang path is strong and firm but prone to exhaustion; the Yin path is soft and subtle yet enduring. The Sage closes his mouth, allowing all things to be concealed. By revolving essence and maintaining clarity, one alters the state of Yin and Yang. When speech is due but withheld, divine spirits are transmitted; when words are needed but silence is kept, divine spirits commune with one. Thus, among all methods, "closing the mouth" is paramount; this is the prohibition method for concealing one's form, which illuminates the divine spirits of the Five Zang Organs (Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung, Kidney). While others play and frolic, I remain solitary and still; while others are noisy, I remain quiet; while others talk incessantly, I remain silent. These practices constitute the unique way of cultivating prohibitions.
The *Xian Jing* (Immortal Scripture) states: Whoever undertakes the method of prohibitions must first observe a fast for one hundred days, focusing the mind and abstaining from sexual intercourse. One may only bathe in pure water and wear clean, fresh clothes. One must never speak foul or abusive words, concentrate on deep thought and quiet contemplation, and avoid stray thoughts, exactly as described in the previous chapter. Furthermore, for seven days, one must keep the mouth closed and not speak to others before receiving the method:
On the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, the 3rd day of the 3rd month, the 5th day of the 5th month, the 7th day of the 7th month, and the 9th day of the 9th month. Within three years, receive the method on these dates during these months. If one wholeheartedly observes the fast without violation, the practice of prohibitions will be effective, as miraculous as a god.
Method for receiving prohibitions on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month:
At dawn during the Yin hour (03:00–05:00) on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, bathe and rinse the mouth cleanly. In a secluded, pure place where no one can see you, wear fresh, clean clothes. Burn various fragrant incenses. Stand facing East. Perform the Yu Bu (Great Step ritual) three times without turning around. Kneel long and recite the petition text: "I petition the Three Masters, Divine Child Jade Maid, Heavenly Doctor Lu Yi, all other masters, Supreme Lord Laojun, various Immortal Spirit Kings, Sun, Moon, Five Planets, Twenty-Eight Mansions, Big Dipper and Three Stars, all spiritual officials and great spirit kings, please know that disciple So-and-so accepts and holds the method of talismanic prohibitions. May it relieve and extract the suffering of sentient beings, eliminate poison and dispel evil, ward off treachery and all misfortunes. As commanded, swiftly as the Law of Supreme Lord Laojun."
General Text for Receiving Prohibitions:
Visualize the Wood Prohibition of the East within your Liver (Gan); visualize the Fire Prohibition of the South within your Heart (Xin); visualize the Metal Prohibition of the West within your Lungs (Fei); visualize the Water Prohibition of the North within your Kidneys (Shen); visualize the Earth Prohibition of the Center within your Spleen (Pi).
Visualize Azure Dragon on the left, White Tiger on the right, Vermilion Bird in front, Black Tortoise behind. The Heavenly Master drives the prohibitions; nothing causes suffering. Dong Wang Gong and Xi Wang Mu. My prohibitions follow and stop as appropriate. Swiftly as the Law of Supreme Lord Laojun. Afterward, recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Bow twelve times. Then, for another seven days, do not speak a single word to anyone, nor use abusive language. Do not wash your hands for seven days.
Method for receiving prohibitions on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month:
At dawn during the Yin hour on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, go to a flowing stream moving eastward. Stand facing East with upright heart and intent. Recite the preceding petition text as in the method for the 1st day of the 1st month. Petition the Rivers, Four Great Streams (Yangtze, Yellow, Huai, Ji), all Water Officials, and the Great Dragon Kings of the Four Seas, wishing them to know that disciple So-and-so accepts and holds the prohibition method. Wish that the Great Spirit King immediately establishes the covenant. Recite the received prohibition texts six times each. Bow nine times.
Method for receiving prohibitions on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month:
At noon on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, burn incense in a quiet place. Stand facing South. After finishing the petition text, recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Bow twelve times.
Method for receiving prohibitions on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month:
At the crowing of the rooster during the Chou hour (01:00–03:00) on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, burn incense in a quiet place. Stand facing West. After finishing the petition text, recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Bow seven times.
Method for receiving prohibitions on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month:
At dusk during the Hai hour (21:00–23:00) on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month, stand facing North in a quiet place. Fill a basin with water. Hold a knife in your mouth. Recite the petition text. Cast incense fire and kneel long. Recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Bow nine times. The procedures for these five days are identical to the method for the 1st day of the 1st month, except for the direction faced and the number of bows.
Method for receiving prohibitions from the Taibai Immortal:
From the 1st day of the 4th lunar month, observe a fast until the 8th day. Establish a Daoist altar, hanging spells on all four sides. Cover [the area], burn incense, and light lamps. Offer sacrifices to the Five Emperors of the Five Directions, the Five Directional Prohibition Masters, and the Five Directional Essence-Swallowing Poison-Eating Yaksha Spirit Kings. Wish them to know that disciple So-and-so accepts and holds the prohibition spell. After the spell, recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Observe a fast for seven days.
Method for receiving prohibitions with Unified Power:
When the first thunder sounds, look up at the lightning. Hold a knife in the right hand and rub it with the left hand. Spell: "Assist me in practicing prohibitions; let my voice shake like a roaring thunder. Let ten thousand poisons lie hidden and hold their breath." Wait until the thunder sound ceases completely. Observe a fast for seven days without speaking. Another version says: When the first thunder sounds, take whatever object you see, chant that your voice is like thunder, causing all evils to fear and tremble. Discard it only after the thunder sound ends. (One version says: hold a knife in the mouth, grasp a large axe with the hand and rub it, saying: 'Mouth like poison, hand like poison, voice like roaring thunder,' etc.)
Method for receiving prohibitions from the Shenxian Wang:
When swallows first arrive, look up at them. Press your hand to the ground and say: "Mouth like poison." Stop when the swallow flies away and is no longer visible. All these require pure fasting and cleanliness, just like the 1st day of the 1st month, without distinction, even refraining from washing hands for seven days.
Method for receiving prohibitions from the Tiandi Taiyi:
Upon initially receiving prohibitions, sit on a mat in a silent, uninhabited place. Set up a table and burn incense. Stand upright with feet together and mouth closed, facing North. Hold a knife in the left hand. Visualize according to the pattern: Azure Dragon on the left, White Tiger on the right, Vermilion Bird in front, Black Tortoise behind. The Big Dipper Seven Stars covers the head, with the handle pointing forward. Next, visualize the Great Prohibition Master of the East governing, wishing he holds weapons. Wan Shi Zhao Hou, Piaoji General Su Pingnan, Eight-Department Generals, Seventy-Two Prohibition Masters, Chen Shi, Zhao Shi, Zhifu Minor Official, Zhiri Tongzi protect today. Do not mistake left for right or front for back. If there is inversion or error, punish according to the laws of the messenger. Swiftly as the law. Mentally recite this three times. Then perform the Yu Bu three times approaching the perfumed water. Click teeth three times. Spell: "Azure Dragon of the East brings water; Vermilion Dragon of the South brings water; White Dragon of the West brings water; Black Dragon of the North brings water; Yellow Dragon of the Center brings water. Throw all into the cup of water at the Three Stars. This water of the Three Stars is not ordinary water; it washes away heavenly filth, earthly filth, and thirty-six types of filth. Filth of disciple So-and-so’s body is purified. Swiftly as the law." After reciting the spell three times, use the water to wash the eyes and the four directions above and below. Drink the remaining water to cleanse the abdomen internally. Imagine purity. Read the preceding petition text again. Then kneel long and recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Bow twice to each of the four directions. This completes the process, proving spiritually effective. The knife and water basin must not have previously held wine, meat, or the Five Pungent Spices (garlic, chives, leeks, onions, asafoetida).
Another method:
On the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, bathe when the Eastern Morning Star appears. In a pure, uninhabited place, use white cogon grass as a mat. Place a seat and set up a table burning incense fire. Wash face and eyes well with spring water. Stand facing East with feet together. First raise the left hand to call the Azure Dragon; then raise the right hand to call the White Tiger; move forward to call the Vermilion Bird; move backward to call the Black Tortoise. Finish. Following the previous method, hold the knife in the left hand. Sequentially visualize the spiritual masters. The daily talisman prohibition follows the same method, with no other differences. If desiring to receive talismans and seals, store them in silk or a bag, hang them, and hook them onto the left finger. Then hold the water basin, hold breath, perform Yu Bu, and invoke sequentially according to the method. This is effective.
Method for receiving spells from the Seven Stars:
On the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, the 3rd day of the 3rd month, the 5th day of the 5th month, the 7th day of the 7th month, and the 9th day of the 9th month.
First bathe in fragrant water. Take water from an east-flowing stream in an unused clay vessel. Recite the received prohibition text once as a spell over the water. Have the person themselves bathe in a wilderness uninhabited place. Use clean grass as a seat. Place seven bowls of water in clay vessels, arranged in the shape of the Big Dipper, facing North. Say: "Respectfully petition the Seven Holy True Lords. Disciple So-and-so wishes to uphold the prohibition method, prohibiting evil ghosts and poisonous qi, saving and managing the people. Humble prayer: descend true qi, flow through my body, so that the talismans and prohibitions I perform cure diseases upon hearing the command, and heal upon touch." Drink a small amount of the aforementioned waters in sequence. Wash hands with the rest. Do not touch unclean objects with hands. This yields great efficacy. (One version mentions the Seven Buddhas spell method, followed by the self-visualization spell method, which are not adopted here.)
Method for Huangdi Yuejin (Yellow Emperor’s Transcending Prohibition):
Huangdi said: Anyone accepting talismans and prohibitions must maintain purity and fasting for one hundred days. Do not approach places of death, childbirth, or nursing rooms. Do this three times within three years. On the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, the 3rd day of the 3rd month, the 5th day of the 5th month, the 7th day of the 7th month, and the 9th day of the 9th month, under the night stars, place a spirit seat, set up a table, burn incense. Fill a basin with water. Face North, click teeth, pinch the eyes of the Three Masters. Sequentially visualize the deities. Finish. Perform Yu Bu three times. Kneel long and read the petition text. Recite the received prohibition texts three times each. Spiritually effective. The water basin must not have previously held wine, meat, or the Five Pungent Spices. Just before transcending, write in cinnabar on white silk. Hold it in the left hand, pinch eyes, and secretly recite the spell. When desiring to practice prohibitions, hold breath, write in cinnabar on white silk. Hold it in the right hand, pinch eyes, and secretly recite the spell.
