Commentary states: Dunshi (Hidden Corpse) refers to the condition where corpse qi lurks, infects, and lingers between the chest, abdomen, and huangmo (the membrane between the heart and diaphragm). Ordinarily, it appears as if there is no illness. However, if due to unregulated emotions of joy or anger, or dietary injury that disturbs the latent disease, upon onset, symptoms include distending pain in the heart and abdomen, radiating to the hypochondrium, rapid and shortness of breath, and inability to lie down comfortably. These are its manifestations.
To treat Dunshi zhu (Hidden Corpse Transmission), if the pathogen resides in others, or enters the abdomen transforming into gu poison with audible sounds; or lodges in the throat; or enters various meridians, not fixed in one location.
