Wendan Tang removes Zhuru, add Renshen, Shudi, Zaoren, Yuanzhi, and Wuweizi. The Gallbladder's lack of warmth is due to unclear Stomach heat, retaining phlegm-fluid which floods the pure organs, preventing the free flow of Yang Qi and losing its warming nature. Therefore, the acrid-warm properties of Erchen Tang are used to warm the Gallbladder and wash away phlegm. When phlegm gathers, the Spleen becomes depressed; thus, Zhishi and Zhuru are added to transform Stomach heat. If there are chills, fever, vomiting, and counterflow, it indicates weak Stomach Qi; remove the draining power of Zhishi and the cloying nature of Hongzao, add Chaihu to soothe the Liver, and Renshen to support the Stomach. This is a modification of Liujunzi Tang. Adding Shudi, Zaoren, Yuanzhi, and Wuweizi follows the method of Guipi Tang.
Shuxia Wan (*Ju Fang*)
Treats obesity complicated by summerheat, causing dizziness, vomiting, and counterflow.
Erchen Tang removes Chenpi, use Banxia fried with vinegar (double the amount), form pills with fresh Shengjiang juice. Take 70-80 pills with sour plant water, Wumei soup, or light vinegar soup.
Qianmin Tang
Treats wind-phlegm with rapid panting, where pulse and symptoms indicate excess.
Erchen Tang removes Fuling, Chenpi, and Wumei. This formula uses Banxia 7 pieces, Gancao 1 cun, Shengjiang cut finger-thick, add Zaojiao (skin and strings removed, roasted in butter), half liang of clean powder. Decoct in water and take warm. Another version has no Gancao, only Banxia 1 liang, Zaojiao powder half liang, Shengjiang 7 slices. Put together in a silk bag, knead by hand to extract clear juice, divide into three doses.
Wenzhong Wan
Treats yellowish swelling of face and swollen feet, caused by Spleen deficiency failing to transport. Although there are accumulations, purgatives must not be used.
Erchen Tang base: Chenpi, Banxia, Fuling each 1 liang, Gancao honey-fried 5 qian. Add Huanglian, Xiangfu, Kushen, Zhensha (quenched in vinegar until rusted) each 5 qian, Baizhu 2 liang, Shenqu 1 liang. Form pills with half vinegar and half water, size of wutong seeds. Take 70-80 pills per dose, down with soup made from Baizhu 6 qian, Chenpi 1 qian, Shengjiang 3 slices. For deficiency, add Renshen 1 qian. For mild cases, taking 6-7 liang of this medicine will increase urination; for severe cases, taking 1 jin will eventually increase urination and clear accumulations. Then regulate and tonify with formulas like Liujunzi.
