用栝蒌根二两，砂锅内甘草水煮软，取出令干，鸡舌香十枚，白芷半两，麝香一分，上为细末。
每用少许揩牙，误咽无妨。蚯蚓矢，水和为泥，火烧令赤，研如粉，腊月猪脂和敷上，日三次，永瘥。
一方，同入瓷瓶内，黄泥固济， 火煨
烧一夜，候冷取出，细研用，如常法揩牙。生地黄一斤，于木臼内捣碎，入盐二合和之，上用白面裹，
可浓半寸以来，煨于 灰火中，断烟始成。去焦面，入麝香一分，同研末，每用少许贴齿根上。蔓荆
子、生地黄、地骨皮、青蒿各一两，郁李根皮二两，每服半两，水煎，热含冷吐。
东垣云∶还少丹常服牢牙齿。地黄丸亦好。阴虚内热者，甘露饮。外用，五灵膏、宣牙膏、五倍
子散、生姜、地黄汁制，皂角散、土蒺藜散、黑铅砂贴搽。生地细锉，绵裹着齿上咂之，日三四，并
咽津效。
用黑豆三十枚，牛粪火内烧令烟尽，取出细研，入麝香少许研匀，先以针挑破不生处，令血出，
却涂药在上。不可见风，忌酸咸物。雄鼠矢三七枚，麝香半钱，同研细揩齿。露蜂房散、川升麻散。
唇属足太阴脾经。（《素问》曰∶脾者，仓廪之本，营之居也，其华在唇。《灵枢》曰∶脾
者主为卫，使
之迎粮，视唇舌好恶，以知吉凶。故唇上下好者脾端正，唇偏举者脾偏倾，揭唇者脾高，唇下纵者脾
下，唇坚者脾坚，唇大而不坚者脾脆，脾病者唇黄，脾绝者唇四面肿。又曰∶唇舌者，肌肉之本也。
足太阴气绝，则脉不荣肌肉，脉不荣则肌肉软，肌肉软则舌萎、人中满，人中满则唇反，唇反者，肉
先死。甲笃乙死，木胜土也）。又属足阳明胃经。（《灵枢》曰∶足阳明所生病者，口 唇胗。注∶
所生病者，血也。胗，古疹字，唇疡也。又曰∶阳明气至则啮唇。《中藏》曰∶胃中热则唇黑）。又
属手少阴心经。（《玄珠》曰∶上下唇皆赤者，心热也。上唇赤下唇白者，肾虚而心火不降也）。又
属手太阴肺经。（钱仲阳曰∶肺主唇白，白而泽者吉，白如枯骨者死。唇白当补脾肺，盖脾者肺之母
也，母子皆虚，不能相营，其名曰怯，故当补。若深红色，则当散肺虚热）。侠口统属冲任二脉。
（《灵枢》曰∶冲任二脉，皆起于胞中，上循背里，为经络之海，其浮而外者，循腹右上行，会于咽
喉，别而络唇口，故气血盛则充肤热肉，血独盛则澹渗皮肤而生毫毛，妇人数脱血，是气有余血不足，
冲任之脉不营唇口，所以无须也）。上唇侠口属手阳明大肠经。下唇侠口属足阳明胃经。燥则
干，热则裂，风则 ，寒则揭。若唇肿起白皮皱裂如蚕茧，名曰茧唇。有唇肿重出如茧者，有本细末
大、如茧如瘤者。或因七情动火伤血，或因心火传授脾经，或因浓味积热伤脾。大要审本证，察兼证，
补脾气，生脾血，则燥自润，火自除，风自息，肿自消。若患者忽略，治者不察，妄用清热消毒之药，
或用药线结去，反为翻花败证矣。肾虚唇茧，时出血水，内热口干吐痰，体瘦，宜济阴地黄丸。肝经
怒火，风热传脾，
唇肿裂，或患茧唇，宜柴胡清肝散。胃火血燥，唇裂为茧，或牙龈溃烂作痛，宜清胃散，或加芍、芎、
柴胡，可治脾胃肝胆经热。风热传脾，唇口 皱，或头目眩，或四肢浮肿如风状，宜羌活散。风热客
于脾经，唇燥裂无色，宜泻黄饮子。中气伤损，唇口生疮，恶寒发热，肢体倦怠，宜补中益气汤。思
虑伤脾，血耗唇皱，宜归脾汤。意思过度，蕴热于脾，沈裂无色，唇燥口干生疮，年久不愈，内服五
福化毒丹，外用橄榄烧灰末，猪脂调涂，或用核中仁细研敷之。又，硫黄、白矾灰、朱砂、水银、麝
香、黄柏为末，和水银瓷器中，腊月猪脂和如泥。光净拭唇，却以膏涂之。又，八月蓝叶绞汁洗，不
过二日瘥。又，诃子肉、五倍子等分为末，干贴。又，黄连一分，干姜半分炮，为细末，敷之。又，
大铜钱四文，石上磨以猪脂，磨取汁涂。又，蛇蜕灰、晚蚕蛾末，油调敷。又，以甑上滴下汗敷之，
白荷花瓣贴之，皆神效。紧唇，白灯散，或皂角末少许，水调涂。风湿入脾，唇口 动 揭，头目眩
痛，结核，浮肿，用薏苡仁炒、防己、赤小豆炒、甘草炙等分，姜煎；《圣惠》独活散，加白蔹、黄
、枳壳，或升麻饮。外用松脂半两，大黄、白蔹、赤小豆、胡粉各二钱半，为细末，鸡子清调涂。
脾热，唇焦枯无润泽，宜生地黄煎。冬月唇干拆血出方，
桃仁捣烂，猪脂调涂。唇舌者，肌肉之本也。唇反者，肉先死。

李东垣说：还少丹常服可以坚固牙齿。地黄丸也很好。阴虚内热者，可用甘露饮。外用五灵膏、宣牙膏、五倍子散、生姜、地黄汁调制，皂角散、土蒺藜散、黑铅砂贴搽。生地黄细切，用绵布包裹着牙齿吮吸，每日三四次，同时咽下津液有效。

Take 2 liang of Trichosanthis Radix (Gualou Gen), boil it in a clay pot with Licorice Root (Gancao) water until soft, take it out and let it dry; 10 pieces of Caryophylli Flos (Jishe Xiang), 0.5 liang of Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), and 1 fen of Moschus (Shexiang). Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Use a small amount to brush teeth each time; accidental swallowing is harmless. Earthworm feces (Qiuyin Shi), mix with water to form mud, burn until red-hot, grind into powder, mix with pig lard from the twelfth lunar month, apply to the affected area, three times a day, can be completely cured. Another method: put the above drugs together in a porcelain bottle, seal firmly with yellow mud, bake over fire for one night, wait for cooling, take out, grind finely, use as usual to brush teeth. 1 jin of Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang), crush in a wooden mortar, add 2 he of salt and mix, wrap with white flour on top, thickness about half cun, bake in ash fire until smoke stops. Remove the charred flour, add 1 fen of Moschus (Shexiang), grind together into powder, apply a small amount to the root of teeth each time. 1 liang each of Viticis Fructus (Manjingzi), Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang), Cortex Lycii (Digupi), and Artemisiae Annuae Herba (Qinghao); 2 liang of Cnei Semen Pericarpium (Yuligenpi). Take 0.5 liang each time, decoct in water, hold hot in mouth, spit out when cold.
Li Dongyuan said: Huan Shao Dan (Revitalize Young Pill) taken regularly can strengthen teeth. Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill) is also good. For Yin deficiency with internal heat, Ganlu Yin (Sweet Dew Decoction) can be used. Externally, Wuling Gao (Five Spirits Ointment), Xuanya Ya Gao (Xuanya Toothpaste), Wu Beizi San (Chinese Gall Powder), fresh ginger, Rehmannia juice preparation, Zaojiao San (Soap Pod Powder), Tujili San (Earth Tribulus Powder), Heiqian Sha (Black Lead Sand) paste and rub. Finely cut Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Dihuang), wrap in cotton cloth, place on teeth and suck, three to four times a day, swallowing saliva is effective.
Use 30 black soybeans, burn in cow dung fire until smoke is gone, take out and grind finely, add a little Moschus (Shexiang), grind evenly. First prick the bald spot with a needle to let blood out, then apply medicine. Avoid wind, avoid sour and salty foods. 3-7 male mouse feces (Xiongshoushi), 0.5 qian of Moschus (Shexiang), grind finely together to brush teeth. Lufengfang San (Honeycomb Powder), Chuanshengma San (Cimicifugae Radix Powder).
The lips belong to the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian. (*Suwen* says: The spleen is the foundation of granaries, the residence of Ying Qi, its brilliance manifests in the lips. *Lingxu* says: The spleen acts as defense, receiving food, observing the condition of lips and tongue to predict fortune or misfortune. Thus, if lips are upright and balanced, the spleen is correct; if lips are slanted or lifted, the spleen is tilted; if lips are everted, the spleen is high; if lips hang down loosely, the spleen is low; if lips are firm, the spleen is solid; if lips are large but not firm, the spleen is fragile; if spleen disease occurs, lips turn yellow; if spleen qi perishes, lips swell all around. It also says: Lips and tongue are the root of muscles. When Foot-Taiyin qi perishes, meridians cannot nourish muscles; without nourishment, muscles become soft; soft muscles lead to tongue atrophy and fullness of philtrum; fullness of philtrum leads to lip eversion; lip eversion means flesh dies first. Disease on Jia day worsening on Yi day indicates Wood overcoming Earth). It also belongs to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. (*Lingxu* says: Diseases generated by Foot-Yangming include oral ulcers on lips. Note: Generated diseases refer to blood disorders. Zhen is an ancient character for rash, referring to lip ulcers. It also says: When Yangming qi arrives, one bites lips. *Zhongzang Jing* says: Heat in stomach causes black lips). It also belongs to the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian. (*Xuanzhu Miyu* says: Redness of both upper and lower lips indicates Heart heat; redness of upper lip and whiteness of lower lip indicates Kidney deficiency with failure of Heart fire to descend). It also belongs to the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian. (Qian Zhongyang said: The Lung governs the whiteness of lips; white and glossy is auspicious, white like dead bone is fatal. White lips should tonify Spleen and Lung, because Spleen is the mother of Lung; if both mother and child are deficient, they cannot nourish each other, named 'Qie' (timidity/weakness), so tonification is needed. If deep red, dissipate Lung deficiency heat). The area around the mouth generally belongs to the Chong and Ren vessels. (*Lingxu* says: The Chong and Ren vessels both originate from the uterus, ascend along the interior of the back, serving as the sea of meridians. Those floating externally ascend along the right side of the abdomen, meet at the throat, branch to connect with lips and mouth. Thus, abundant Qi and Blood fill skin and warm flesh; excessive Blood permeates skin and generates hair. Women often lose blood, resulting in excess Qi and deficient Blood; Chong and Ren vessels cannot nourish lips and mouth, hence no beard). The upper lip beside the mouth belongs to the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian. The lower lip beside the mouth belongs to the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. Dryness causes dryness, heat causes cracking, wind causes trembling, cold causes eversion. If lips swell with white peeling skin and wrinkles like silkworm cocoons, it is called "Silkworm Cocoon Lip" (Jianchun). There are cases where lips swell and protrude like cocoons, or narrow at base and wide at tip, resembling cocoons or tumors. This may be due to emotional disturbances generating fire damaging blood, Heart fire transmitting to Spleen meridian, or rich flavors accumulating heat damaging Spleen. Generally, examine the primary syndrome, observe accompanying syndromes, tonify Spleen Qi, generate Spleen Blood, then dryness moistens itself, fire eliminates itself, wind subsides, swelling disappears. If patients neglect it, or physicians fail to observe and recklessly use clearing heat and detoxifying drugs, or use medicinal threads to tie off, it may turn into a malignant ulcer (Fan Hua Bai Zheng). Kidney deficiency Jianchun, bleeding fluid occasionally, internal heat, dry mouth, expectoration, emaciation, use Ji Yin Dihuang Wan (Nourish Yin Rehmannia Pill). Liver meridian anger fire, wind-heat transmitting to Spleen, lip swelling and cracking, or Jianchun, use Chaihu Qinggan San (Bupleurum Clearing Liver Powder). Stomach fire and blood dryness, lip cracking forming cocoon, or gum ulceration and pain, use Qingwei San (Clear Stomach Powder), or add Peony (Shaoyao), Ligusticum (Chuanxiong), Bupleurum (Chaihu), to treat heat in Spleen, Stomach, Liver, and Gallbladder meridians. Wind-heat transmitting to Spleen, lip trembling and wrinkling, or dizziness, or limb edema like wind pattern, use Qianghuo San (Notopterygium Powder). Wind-heat lodging in Spleen meridian, lip dryness and cracking without color, use Xiehuang Yinzi (Drain Yellow Decoction). Middle Qi damage, lip and mouth sores, aversion to cold and fever, limb fatigue, use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify Middle and Augment Qi Decoction). Overthinking damages Spleen, blood consumption causing lip wrinkles, use Guipi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction). Excessive mental activity, heat accumulation in Spleen, deep cracks without color, lip dryness, dry mouth, sores, chronic non-healing, internally take Wufu Huadu Dan (Five Blessings Detoxifying Pill), externally use olive ash powder mixed with pig lard, or grind kernel inside nut and apply. Also, Sulfur (Huangshan), Alum (Baifan) ash, Cinnabar (Zhusha), Mercury (Shuiyin), Moschus (Shexiang), Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai) ground into powder, grind with mercury in porcelain vessel, mix with pig lard from twelfth lunar month like mud. Cleanly wipe lips, then apply ointment. Also, squeeze juice from blue leaves in August to wash, heals within two days. Also, Chebulae Fructus (Hezire) and Chinese Gall (Wubeizi) in equal parts, ground into powder, apply dry. Also, Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) 1 fen, dried Ginger (Ganjiang) 0.5 fen roasted, ground into fine powder, apply. Also, four large copper coins, grind on stone with pig lard, collect juice to apply. Also, snake shed ash, late silkworm moth powder, mix with oil to apply. Also, apply sweat dripping from steamer lid, attach white lotus petals, all are miraculous. Tight lips, Baileng San (White Lamp Powder), or a little soap pod powder mixed with water to apply. Damp-wind entering Spleen, lip trembling and eversion, dizziness and headache, lymph nodes, edema, use stir-fried Coix Seed (Yiyiren), Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix (Fangji), stir-fried Adzuki Bean (Chixiaodou), roasted Licorice (Gancao) in equal parts, decoct with ginger; *Shenghui Fang* Duhuo San (Angelica Pubescens Powder), add Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bailian), Astragali Membranaceus (Huangqi), Aurantii Fructus (Zhiqiao), or Shengma Yin. Externally, Pine Resin (Songzhi) 0.5 liang, Rheubarbradix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bailian), Adzuki Bean (Chixiaodou), Lead Carbonate (Hufen) each 2.5 qian, ground into fine powder, mix with egg white to apply. Spleen heat, lips scorched and dry without luster, use Shengdihuang Jian (Rehmannia Decoction). Winter dry cracked bleeding lips formula: crush Peach Kernel (Taoren), mix with pig lard to apply. Lips and tongue are the root of muscles. Lip eversion means flesh dies first.
